It just feels weird going from Shai who is socially inept and cold herself to my friendly Kathryn. I'm trying to get used to it again.

This is a great pose for femShep and one that is easily missed in that scene. I took the same shot with Nemain a few weeks back:

I'm assuming you took that picture on the PC. The console version tends to have more Baroque lighting I have noticed, and the difference is not just in Nemain's darker skin tone.

Furthermore, I feel that playing a lesbian character creates the potential for far more interesting roleplaying possibilities, and also assists in fleshing out Shepard's character. How did her sexuality affect her life prior to the events of the ME trilogy? Did it influence her career in the Alliance? Was she subjected to any kind of discrimination or prejudice? How did it affect her relationship with her parents? All of this can be incorporated into my Shepard's backstory.
Lastly, I absolutely adore the opportunity to play through the Mass Effect trilogy as a strong female protagonist, which is something of a novelty in a sci-fi military setting. I feel that the character of Commander Shepard is more interesting as a strong, capable and confident woman, and I feel a greater sense of attachment to her as a result. It's a joy to play as FemShep, and witness the role of the series' protagonist occupied by a woman.

The lighting isn't exactly... kind to Dia, but hey. Hahaha. It's still an excellent shot.
I wanted to thank you all for the feedback on Dia! All of the comments about her looking like a badass made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Her "Hackett just smiled at me" face. (... yes, she's not "romancing" anyone. I am writing her with Hackett, however.

Come out, come out, wherever you are...

Last night, while playing, I got to Jack's loyalty mission not knowing what was going to happen. I usually save Miranda's loyalty mission until one of the last, but I did it early this time. I didn't think I had enough paragon (yes, Dia's a paragade! She's not as renegade-y as she looks.) points to soothe the argument. Much to my surprise, during the loyalty mission, she wanted to pistol whip the snot out of her for some of the things she said. Mainly the "I know these other kids died, BUT I HAD IT THE WORST I SWEARZ" spiel in the morgue. So when the fight happened, she (surprisingly) sided with Miranda despite having the paragon option unlocked. When I went back to look at my screenshots, I saw this and actually got a few goosebumps. She just looks so disgusted.
/stops spamming you guys with Dia's face

Expertly captured? I've heard heard that a lot. Not trying to be snarky but I get the impression that you PC users kind of have to guess at when to press a key for shots?
Most likely you'll keep hearing it ;.)
"Us" pc users can be lucky by pressing the key at right time, can be experts and press the key at the right time, can be lucky by setting fraps to take a shot each x seconds, can be just lazy and load the footage onto vdub and take a shot there. You'll never know....

Nice screen, btw.
Thanks!
I'm not sure how she does it, but I say "expertly captured" because every screen shot she takes is fantastic! ...she is truly a master....she even made my Madeline look good

There are certain places I know take good screens and I keep a lot of save files. The one in afterlife with the recruiter is a great one, but the lighting is dynamic so it tends to look different every time.
I set my screenshot key to "C" so I just have to shift my pointer finger. Spam screenshot key...pick out the good ones later. It's become kind of second nature.
Now that I've discovered the pause button though, I can be more selective. And since I've discovered the conversation freecam I have a whole new reason to look forward to my next playthrough. It can be quite fun in itself trying to set up a good shot. I'm not really using FRAPS anymore because the hires tiled shots you can take with a key binding are absolutely gorgeous quality. I wish I had discovered it sooner.

Okay. That's my screen o the day. Seriously I've been trying to get some drawing done and ya know, eat, but this thread is a massive time sink. I keep getting distracted. (in a good way
...
Why do I play femshep? I find it easier to relate to playing a character my own gender so if given the option I take it.

I don't think you need to worry about us getting tired of her anytime soon. Everyone loves badasses.
No screenies from me today. I'm kind of stuck on writing what happends on Jennifer after my last story. Also like ELE this thread keeps distracting me.

When cruising for fanart footage, I tend to run FRAPS continually, at 60fps, making lossless movies. I also use the newly discovered freecam while in cutscenes, and have keys for pause, 1/20th speed, half-speed, etc, Especially the slomo keys are very useful, so you don't quickly have to press the screengrab key at the exact right moment, but can wait for it appear at your leasure. I usually take highres 'tiledshots' for important scenes; or just a still from the FRAPS movie(s).ELE08 wrote...

Well, technically taken on the PC, but the game was running on the Xbox attached to my capture card. I also use Picasa to fiddle around a bit with the pictures.

Thanks. I don't want to post too many pictures so as to avoid clogging up the page(and not being labeled a hypocrite because of my earlier gripe:whistle: ) but I'll post a couple more some time in the future (and I do have an album set up for her).
@ELE08: That black Liara suit is amazing in that shot. Where can I buy it?

Thanks! She is my only "canon" Shepard..and the first character I every played through ME and ME:2 with.
ELE was kind enough to make up a few screenies for me (since I only have ME on 360 <_<)
I have been messing around with her back story (fanfic kinda stuff)....posted it here in the FemShep group, take a look if you guys and gals are interested...social.bioware.com/group/2433/discussion/9535/&p=4

That would be a completely different game! I like that there is no difference between the actions and capabilities of both genders. I imagine having them as siblings would change that aspect.ADLegend21 wrote...
another interesting debat etopic (sort of) I came up with. How would if affect us femshep palyers if male and female sheps were siblings and the game play alternated between them? (example: like how the Halo 2 campaign alternated between the arbiter and master cheif)
