Probably because it can't be done properly. I tried it once; and you can fiddle around a bit with the eyes (move 'em up a bit, make 'em thinner, and work the nose a bit). On the whole, though, it never comes out as a real Asian looking female, sadly. Others may have had more luck (and skill); but I haven't seen a plausible one yet.
Here is my female shepard base on my wife's face (hehe), it is like 95% of her face and she loves it. ^^
P.S. She is an asian.

Jennifer Hale's voice coupled w/ the facial animations of female Shepard make her so much more alive. With femShep I was able to create an original character that is not me and has a life of her own, so to speak. I don't think I could do that with DudeShep.

You do know you can just use Gibbed's Save Editor to change the class of any of your Femsheps on the fly, right?

Yup, but I wanted the right combination of backstory and I wasn't in the mood to edit all the ME1 flags in manually
Besides, I like doing things in a different order and whatnot.

I understand the frustration with making Asian Shepards. I still can't get it right. I think Nona and Min are the only ones that look vaguely Asian. Vaguely.

Question: Do you guys think they will revamp the CC for ME3? Or just leave it as is? I really hope they at least add more options for hair, eyes and lips.

Maybe they could add some more angles to look at your Shepard so you can see how the face looks in the game.
EDIT: And please, Bioware, fix the hairstyles - they sometimes look too stringy, jagged or uneven.

Very, very much in favor of more angles. I should be able to turn the whole model, not just have Shepard look around.Chignon wrote...
I do hope they revamp it because the CC can get quite frustrating at times. But preferably they do it without killing Shep again to justify it.

But having seen someone creating 3D hairstyles and their textures back when Sims 2 was huge, Bioware's are really quite solid for mass-market. If you wanted noticeably better, entirely without stringy or jagged portions, you're probably looking at ~30-40 man-hours work each. The Unreal Engine isn't really built for hair.

In the words of an artistic friend of mine, "their texture artist should be beaten with an oar until he admits he doesn't know s--t about layers". I'll certainly grant you that one absolutely needed at least another hour or two of work.Chignon wrote...
You're right, but some of the hairstyles looked better in ME1 than their "improved" counterparts in ME2. Most noticeably the bob hairstyle:

Or even a complete hour of work.
Lord, that's bad.

Ha, I like your friend!
It's very bad and it was my second favourite hairstyle in ME1. It does work somewhat for dark-haired Shepards, though.

Nona looks good!
My main Shepard, Devi, looks a little more asian than I expected her too. I think it's mainly because of her cheekbones as I have a tendency to make them prominent for most of my characters:

I see her as being a mix of hispanic, polynesian, and black ancestry.....a true "mutt", especially since she looks so ambiguous.
With Indra I did intially attempt an asian face but somewhere along the line I dropped the idea. You can still see some of the influence:

But yeah, Bioware really needs to give us a ton more fixed camera angles and the option to change lighting in the character creator. Their character designers would be aghast at working within the limitations we are forced under.

A very tough looking Shepard you have there, Domar! I like her.
But I settled for a Native American version of her, Enola, as my second FemShep career. The first, Dale - the blonde vanguard, was the first who completed both ME1 and ME2 missions, although I started out with a male who finished off Saren & Co. Dale gave me a taste for more of feminine grace and power.

There's actually a reason as to why she is Asian. Prior to creating my first FemShep, I was looking for inspiration and ideas regarding ways that I could make her unique, and somewhat interesting. However, on the day that I had intended to create my Shepard, a thread was created on the forums demanding that the Mass Effect trilogy does not feature any more minorities. Such a sickening display of overt racism and bigotry was enough to cause me to create a non-Caucasian Shepard. I actually like the fact that, within my own personal canon, Mass Effect's lead protagonist is a homosexual Asian woman. It's unique, and interesting.

Vest really looks good on her and I like the white color of it.
And inside a bubble with Liara. *Starts dreaming and melts.*
I love the flycam stuff and envy all of you who can do it. My comp is too poor for playing around with it and starts to crash when I try to do something fancy. Well, maybe when I get new one I can give it a try again.

I think she is one of the most beautiful Shepards I've seen on BSN. Stunning!

I tried to go for a more Asian look with Devon, but it didn't quite work out and for some reason I can't bring myself to play a Shepard other than Noah for long.
**Pic Snip**
What?! ../../../images/forum/emoticons/andy.pngI have mixed feelings about that compliment....haha! I designed Indra to have a rough, handsome face with a slight masculine edge to it. The picture I posted above was one of those strange moments where she looked conventionally pretty while also displaying parts of her face that still had some asian influence. Thanks for the comment though, although I urge you to view her less pretty side here: social.bioware.com/1562460/albums/89304 .

I would like to see more pictures of Devon. I love Noah's look but you run the risk of overusing Noah--and subsequently becomming tired of her---- if you choose not to make a couple of other characters....atleast in my experience.

That's despicable! I hope that was really just a troll post and not someone's actual view point.

Because Nemain disapproves of such view points!

You're welcome and, um, are those supposed to discourage me from calling her beautiful?

Because it really isn't working.

That's exactly why I try to use my other two Sheps, Devon and Catherine, but they just don't feel as "right" as Noah. It's probably stupid of me to feel that way, I know.

Odd that I always viewed the suit above as too girlish because of the empire waist-like lining, but on Indra it looks a lot more masculine and commanding.
~~
I find that so long as I push myself to take different actions for each character, it becomes easier to see them as separate Shepards in some alternate universe. They won't ever have the same hold on me as my original Shepard, however, so you're not strange in still seeing Noah as "right" compared to your other characters.
