I don't have a good screenshot of Holly Shepard's armor at this time, but here are the rest!

Constance:
Kestrel Set, Aegis Vest and Kuwashii Visor.

Trista:
Same as Constance, but in a different color.

Aislinn:
N7 Gloves and Legs, Amplifier Plates, Sentry Interface and Shield Harness.

Holly:
The N7 set, Kuwashii Visor and Kestrel Legs.

My, that's a gorgeous dress! How did you get Abby to wear that?

if you're on pc, it's easy. coalesced editor comes with a bunch of casual wears that can include in your ini. i dont know if it's that easy on xbox.

So does anyone know the mesh names of the pieces of the old Hazard armor suit? I know they exist in ME2, I've seen them, but I don't know their names in the program and I have no clue how to find them. I'd also like to know how to mod them so that I can get a big boost to shields just like the original Hazard did. Jessica wants her "crab suit"!

*peeks out from behind a corner*

Hi there, (sort of) newcomer here. Posted Image

I've been loving these in-depth conversations about FemShep for some time now, but had no way of contributing, due to the fact that left my ME2 in another state, on the assumption that I could get my ME2 fix on the Suicide Mission alone. Hahahaha, needless to say, that hasn't worked....and now I play Horizon over and over and over again until I reclaim both of my games.

Thanks to Rynluna, who graciously gave me her own code, I was able to register and here I am!

I like the way you guys address the many facets of who Commander Shepard is. It gets the writer in me thinking. I love the talks about each different Shep's personality, choices, her views on who/what she is now that she's been brought back from the dead by an organization she doesn't trust, the squadmates, the LI's, errything. It's all so wonderfully creative.

Iwakura-Lain wrote...

Whether I agree with Sable's assessment of resurrected Shepard per se, or no, I like the story very much, if for no greater reason than that it addresses the issue. Dying, sort of a major thing. :) And Bioware did as good as nothing with it (they only started to redress that matter somewhat in LoTSB). Sable's great story touches upon the whole morality of what Miranda and Cerberus have been doing; you know, only thinking whether they could resurrect her, and never wondering whether they should. And what they took from her in the process.

Is it odd that I found myself thinking of Buffy the Vampire Slayer when I read this? I can see similarities between these two characters. Both were brought back from the dead, are thought of as leaders, are strong female main characters and are able to kick ass and be a deadpan snarker all at once.

The difference between these two is that Buffy got some reflection time on what being brought back from the dead meant to her perspective on the world, herself and her friends. FemShep, aside from the occasional fanfic and the good writing of LotSB, didn't. I really do hope that ME3 addresses at least SOME aspect of Shep's emotions and views on being brought back from the dead.

Sorry, didn't meant to go off topic with that. I just saw something interesting and went for it. Posted Image

I've also got some questions that I'd like to ask you all, pertaining to your (remarkable, stunning, fabulously designed) Sheps, pertaining to how your RP them.

1. When you were given the option to pick that certain bonus power/weapon, what did your Shep chose and why? Did you come up with an idea as to HOW they acquired the power? (Ie Samara teaching Shep how to use Reave or Morinth showing her how to Dominate? Kasumi giving Shep the blue-prints for her custom made Flashbang grenades etc.)

2. The squadmates all have unique combat dialouge. To name a few:
"This should scramble thier systems!" ~ Miranda
"Embrace the Sea!" ~ Thane
"I'll get them off thier feet!" ~ Samara
"Yeah! Right on your ass!" ~ Grunt.
"I will destroy you!" ~ Jack (which, if you might recall, was a taunt used by enemies in  the first game.)

Shep's, I thought, were sort of...meh. So, if you could have some quirky/interesting/hilarious combat snarks that you want your Shep to shout during combat, what would they be?

Glad to be here you guys!  Posted Image

Favorite armor, eh? ME1 - Onyx light/medium/heavy and the Colossus medium

ME2 - really depends on the class. My current favorite setup for my soldier, Jane looks like this - a mix of Kestral chest and various N7 armor pieces:

I do see the buffy comparison if bioware had put in some of the stuff that was in buffy when she was brought back like her saying she was happy where she was and her friends ripped her from a nice place think it was to spike something like that from shepard would have made it feel more real for me

as for the bonus powers I normally pick it depending on the class my shepard is but wrap ammo and slam seem to be the most picked on my shepards

hi skyline! i appreciate your observation about buffy. i think you're quite right. i kept wanting more reaction from shepard - maybe even a "wha? you thought i was THAT indespinsible?" i mean, really, is shep so narcisisstic that she thinks "5 billion credits? yeah, i'm worth it." mebbe some, i don't think mine would be. (wow, my spelling is totally off tonight)

your questions are good ones:

1. Iconic Power? Barrier. It was a standby for Kyrie in ME1 - it WAS her armor most of the time (when she was broke from outfitting her squad before herself and couldn't afford anything) and it's symbolic of the fact that she's very reluctant to let people in. while she is deadly, her secret to being so is actually defense first, attack second. this is totally her thinking on elysium, even the battle of the citadel (save council government, then attack) that caution is what set her apart from my vanguard sheps, i think. it sort of annoyed me that i had to UNLOCK it in ME2. after that, singularity, since her favorite attacks are to trap or use an enemies force against them.

2. classic saying? huh. i'll have to think about that. "Sh*t!" comes to mind. not very creative, but i don't see her as being very eloquent when she's using the survival part of her brain. hence horizon. playing on insanity, i'm hearing a lot of "AAAaaaAAAuuuUUUgggHHH!" - you know, that long, drawn out, holler from ms. hale. i'm beginning to associate it with kyrie, even though that's really a result of me playing pause-flycam when i should be focusing on shooting mecs.

how about you?

(Something to Sing about, Buffy's song towards the ending of the musical episode. Has some very interesting lyrics that deal with how Buffy feels about being brought back.)

I sort of feel that (certain) Sheps could kind of relate to some of the lyrics, depending on your overall RP perspective. ("Still my friends don't know why I ignore the million things or more I should be dancing for. All the joy life sends, family and friends, all the twists and bends, knowing that it ends. Well, that depends on if they let you go. On if they know enough to know, that when you bowed, you leave the crowd.)

@ SageQueen.

Favorite/Iconic Power? Warp Ammo, currently! When my Shep can't get a Warp fired off and Miranda or Thane is still trying to pool enough strength into casting another, my Shep empties a clip of her SMG into an opponent equipped with Warp Ammo. It's very handy, has a good cooldown, and it last until she resets it. I'm not sure as to how she acquired the power. Since it originally belonged to Jack, I'm thinking that she collaberated with the primal Vanguard and upgraded her weapons.
As for the bonus weapon, I want to lean towards shotgun, but the range of said weapon is kind of what kills the RP perspective for me. I had a little idea that Shep had a shoutgun that she named, like Zaeed named his rifle.

Combat Dialouge? Well, one of my Shepard's little quirks is that she enjoys baseball. So, when she curves that Throw/Pull/Warp, she tends to yell "curve ball!" or something to that extent. When defeating an opponent, she'll utter "Strike three! Outta here." or something equally odd. She finds that humor helps to aid in an  otherwise grim situation.

Any of your Sheps have funny little quirks?

One of my Shep's quirks, aside from her baseball love, ( her name and appearance are a work in progres for now) is that, when she gets the chance, she likes to drink, but drinks a combo of alcohol and soda. She and Chakwas are currently testing different combinations of various wines and soft drinks.
She's also got a small tattoo of a devil's wing on her right shoulder blade. Only Liara's seen that. Posted Image

Welcome Skyline!
Hmmm, to answer your first question -

Holly Shepard is an Infiltrator and tech junkie.  She finds Legion fascinating, and I'd imagine she learned Geth Shield Boost as part of sharing technology to benefit the mission.  She's a sniper and likes big guns, so it's obvious she'd pick up the Widow. Her cybernetic upgrades would allow her to shoot it with no problem.

No battle cries, I think.  She spends most of her time cloaked, then hitting them where it hurts.  I think she'd prefer they not hear her coming.

Stuff I could imagine her saying, for comedic value or trying to be witty:
"BOOM!  Headshot!"
"One shot.  One kill."
"Don't run!  You'll only die tired!"
"Two lines you should never cross... horizontal and vertical."

And while cloaking:

"I'm a ninja!"

Well, Infiltrators nonwithstanding, I suppose, Ms. Aislinn. ;D Thought it would have something of a comedic effect if Holly walked up behind a merc, Tactical Cloak on, and whispered, "Boo!" before ducking away out of thier scopes.

The cybernetics allowing for Shepard to weild weapons not normally handled by humans would make for an interesting little plot point on how Shep's not fully human anymore. I know that this little point has been addressed in the forum, but I wish that erry Shep could weild the Widow or Claymore or Revenant.

I have ME2 in its most basic form (on the 360 with no DLC or promotional items) so seeing the mods and the cool armors, hair styles, civillian clothes, and weapons makes me a bit jealous.

However, this is what fanfiction is for, no? :D

And a question: what's your favourite casual wear for your Shepard?

I modded the .ini to get more outfits, and she's always wearing some variation on the uniform from ME1.  (The future-cargo-pants outfit.)

For one of my FemSheps, I wanted the outfit that Miranda's Asari contact on Illium was wearing, which is in the mod, but for a lighter-skinned Shep it does not work because there's some really glaring pixelation on the inside edge of the little triangle on the chest, and too often it makes it look like she has a little chest hair going on...  Posted Image

Each time I do Kasumi's LM, I can't wait to get done and get rid of the mini-dress.  It's just glaring how much it doesn't fit my understanding of FemShep -- she even describes it as a "getup" and her facial expression even says "I'm not enjoying this".  Kasumi acknowledges this in tone and words when they're about to enter Hock's vault.

I feel like my Shepard is one giant quirk. I think you'd have to be quirky to get through ME1, then ME2 and still be sane. But more specifically, I think she (like many Shepards) has a habit of making jokes when things are not actually funny. That happened enough in game for me to like that trait and run with it.

Ah! I forgot one other quirk. In addition to her love of baseball and her sports-themed combat jibes, she sort of...pitches her biotic fields at opponents like they were baseballs. Not a full on, standing on one foot kind of pitch, but that sort of motion you make when you throw a ball hard and fast.

Hahaha, too much? I tend to think, in the heat of combat, it would be too silly, but I suppose one's allowed to enjoy themselves if they know they've the strength and power to back it up.

@ Chignon

I think it would have to be the Cerberus Officer look. It makes my Shep really appear like she's in charge of this mission, which she is.

The mini dress, as well as the heels, are a sort of a wake up call for my Shep. She realized she'd have to get better at walking in heels, because she might have to look formal if she wanted to take Liara somewhere fancy....y'know, after the whole 'save the galaxy, kill all the Reapers' thing.

I'm thinking of starting my ME2 fanfic at the start of Kasumi's loyalty mission, with Shep fresh out of Freedom's Progress. Watching the walkthrough on Youtube, Shep gives the Saren statue a once over, and a thought ran through my head.

I'll bet she thinking how much things have changed, how simplier things were when she was hunting down Saren. No wonky biotic powers (here's looking at you, ME2 Singularity), heat sinks, hardened!Liara, Shep fully human, working for Cerberus etc. At least, that was my interpretation.

for the Questions:

Kallen: Iconic power- Reave. She was a soldier so adding to biotic power threw everyone off (way to go Miranda)

Iconic sayings: She basically names Halo Medals for her various kills. and even made some up.

Angela: Iconic Power: Fortification. For an inflitrator she got into some painful stuff. so in a pickle she'd jsut flip on fortification and weather some storms of bullets. Grunt gave her a pass for "hiding" as he put it since she'd pick off enemies from afar.

Iconic saying- only one: Bullet to the head, you mess with shepard you get dead! (yeah everysquadmate, including Legion, facepalms)

Haha, yeah. I've wondered if they had to regrow the nodules in a biotic!Shep's nervous system, or if they just used the ones they had or what. I'm not one for any type of science, so I'm not sure what they would do in that type of situation. I just thought that it be interesting.
Sure, Shep looks the same, acts the same, and has the same memories, but that isn't the same skin she was born in. Those aren't the same lungs she's had since she took that first gulp of breath in the world. Her body is completley alien to her, even though it is 'her'.

You truly captured both character's personalities very well! Was all that off the top of your head? :D I envy your ability to write the squadmates so well. I always have to look up references to thier speech patterns and how they carry themsevles. You had Garrus and Miranda spot on!

How did this description of your Jessica come to fruition? Was it just a random idea you had one day or did it develop over time from something small?
