Seriously, Indra's in my personal top three Shepards. She's so intense in every picture I've seen of her. She's simply beautiful but has that natural commanding air around her. She looks very capable but in the screenshots with Liara, you can see her more vulnerable and soft side.

I don't think I could ever get tired of her. Stunning!

You are too kind. Jennifer Hale did a great job acting out the scene with Liara and Shepard on the Normandy. She left me convinced that the two characters are in love and did Indra a favor in softening her up. I just uploaded that scene to Youtube so if you want to see Indra in motion: www.youtube.com/watch. If there is one thing about her face that I would tweak a bit, it would be the chin. The trick would be to reduce it a little while still keeping the broadness.

By the way, I saw the video of Noah you posted a couple pages back and had a good laugh! Even though Noah's face is pixie-like, you still gave her a certain harshness that helps in not making her look like a child. I'm curious to know if she has some basis on your drawing style. I ask because Devi in some ways resembles some of the random things I've sketched (more like doodled) on occasion---I like drawing profiles with long noses and pointed chins.

Wow, Flies! Always nice to see your Shepard's in action.

EDIT: Just something I noticed. When your Sheapard answers the dialouge response, "I'm worried", she gets this look like...well, she's worried! Like she's trying to be tough, but the mask falters slightly. The way you created her face helps her to emote very well when speaking with certain people at certain instances. It's very very cool.

Thanks Skyline. The "I'm worried" line is my favorite of the three and I always choose it for any of my characters. I grow tired of being the indefatigable hero who shows no fear.....

~

Don't know why but several of the videos I upload to Youtube have this weird static effect during certain parts, whereas on my computer they play just fine.

Right, so.... I don't know if anyone here has seen this (I can't be arsed to check through 439 pages, so I'm going with 'maybe', >.> ), but yonder blogger took absolutely everything I thought about FemShepard, and made it epic.

(Actually, scratch that. This is pretty much what I always thought about female video game protagonists in general.)

"rarely is a female depicted as just a person with a job to do" - so true. man, that was a good blog. thanks for sharing.

@ reiv  & @ j - it's in c-sec. ask bailey about the zakera ward. unlike many cool poses, you can ask him a bazillion times in a row and line up the perfect angle.

@ flies: i also love indra. and i love her name. it so fits her.

@ sel: totally agree on the hair thing. though i'm getting to be a fan of kyrie's new hair the more i play the game. i'm coming to appreciate the asymetrical thing.

I have yet to find another hairstyle that I like for Alexis. She's really the kind of girl that would normally have long hair, but I dislike most of the up-hairstyles that indicate the longer hair. They don't really work for her at least. So for now, she keeps the same hair (which actually seems longer than it was in ME1, so maybe she's considering growing it back out).

On a similar note I have to agree with you.  Whenever I choose a hairstyle for my femshep, I (nearly) always choose the same one (Namely the one that Alexis has).
And I choose it on the basis of whatever's most realistic.  I mean, I doubt that loose bangs and loose hair in general are convenient when trying to aim-shoot-and-fire at a target.
So yeah, a hairstyle like that makes sense, along with the "up-do's".  Though the ponytail does seem slightly...'wet' in ME2

And I must say that Alexis is quite lovely. Posted Image

Thanks!

And yes, I have the same issue with needing the hair to be realistic. I try to apply what I know about hair requirements for woman in the military these days. One of the things I like most about the hairstyle I used with Alexis is that it's just long enough (my hair is currently in a similar length and style) that you can pull it back into a short ponytail if you had to. It'll come loose easy, but it can be done.

Indra's really something. I like the chin and the rest of her just fine. But I know what you mean - the more you look at your chracter, the more you notice some things that could use tweaking. I think I have a Noah 3.0 by now. Posted Image

Thank you, Flies.

Actually, she does. I like drawing faces with a fine bone structure, like this for example:

That might have influenced me when I created Noah and I tend to draw her with those features more pronounced than the rest:

So I take it it was the same for you and Devi?

Okay, here's a question for you all:

Which picture describes your FemShep best and why? It could either be a screenshot, fanart or something completely different.

i love your avatar ash. it's perfect.

and edit: chignon, i love your style of drawing. so unique - like you strip the portraits down to their skin and emotions and nothing else to interfere

Most of the time, when it came to hairstyle, I just tried to think of what best fit the character, instead of being practical. I suppose it was a bit of a good think that I chose hairstlyles that didn't really look like they hampered the eyesight or 'distracted' Shepard in any way.

@Chignon: Did you draw those?! 0___0 WOW. Man, those are awesome.

Oh, and Chig? I love your artwork. It's so expressive, and I feel that you capture both Noah and Kaidan's respective likenesses perfectly. Nice one!

Beautiful sketches! It looks as though you used pastel? Anyhow, you put me to shame, what with my rusty art "skills"!

Most of what I doodle I throw out so what I have below are a few sketches that I made that show atleast some "similarity" with what I like, including long noses and chins.

(I'm sorry to detract from the main question, but I'm in need of assistance)
Hey, question for those who like Liara:
I'm still in the idea phase of writing an ME2 fic, and the Shep/Liara relationship is going to be one of the many points within it. Now, I know why Liara wanted to bring Shep back, but I'm having a little trouble suming up her emotions about giving the body to Cerberus, and the whole Shadow Broker situation. Angry, regretful and sad come to mind.

Wow. First thing I saw when the page refreshed. I proceeded to LOL forever.

I'm still getting that "B!tch please!" vibe from her, hahaha.

@ sky: ha! i love it. it makes me grin to think that kyrie makes you think "b!tch, please..." because that's totally how i think she comes across. 'course, that's largely jennifer hale's delivery of neutral lines, of which kyrie chooses many.
