@Sage
Posted Image HA! Those are hilarious. Y'know, I sort of always thought that the two engineers were sort of a couple, but now erry time I see our good cook, I'm going to think Chakwas/Gardner and it would be the most awkward/cutest thing ever.

Horizon...that reminds me of Jane's vid, when Kaidan and Jane hug and the music gets all climactic (when is it not climatic, though? ;D)

I had Ash **** me out for being with Cerberus, and I brought Jack and Miranda along with me. I wanted Jack to say something, some equally witty retort or some such, but then Miranda stepped in, calling Ash on her 'typicial Alliance attitude'.  Oh Horizon, you're just filled with suprises. From Harbinger's intro (anyone else catch his little possession sequence looked like Shepard's vision-reciveing animation? Coincedence? I sure hope not.) to the VS appearing, hugging you, then doing a complete 180. Still, love the level, but yeah, it kinda hit home then.

one of the worst things, aside from what is said (and not said), is when they hear shepard is "with cerberus", they step back like (s)he has some terrible and contagious disease ... that was awful

I thought that was actually a nice touch - especially when compared to Shepard's total lack of emotion and facial expression (well, except for one raised eyebrow). They are shocked to see Shepard working wtih Cerberus.

:crying:...:pinched:...:crying:

It is good to see Noah in action though.  You get a much better feel for a character from vids than from pics.  She is lovely.

Horizon has very nice lighting.  Even if what happens there isn't so nice.

Thanks, ELE! And Teagan! Squee! <3

Yes, Horizon's colour scheme is completely at odds with the somber mood. But it makes for some really good screenshots.

Ok, Rynluna. Sorry it's a bit long. Also it's in Jane's view. (Jen is her sister) Hope you guys enjoy...

Name: Jane Shepard
Age: 29 (Death years not counted)
Alignment: Renegade
class: Vanguard
Spectre Status: Spectre
PRE-SERVICE HISTORY: Earthborn
(Aboard the SR-2)
“Jen, how are you?” I ask my sister.
“Fine, you?” she replies.
“The normal. But, do you remember when we lived on Earth?” I tell her and look at her hologram.
“Of course I remember.”
“Good. I’d like to talk to you about it. I never really get a chance to vent anymore.”
“That’s understandable sis. Go ahead.” she sooths.
“Thanks.” I say. “Well, I still just want revenge. That’s why I left. After I figured out that the Reds burned our house down and killed out parents, I went insane and left. I’m sorry I left you there.” I explained.
“It’s okay. Though, I joined the military today, right before you called in fact.” Jen told me.
“What’s your class?”
“I’m a soldier, what you wanted to be.”
“Jen, I’ll see you at some point soon, we can even visit Earth.”
“Okay, I’ll see you then.” she says then hangs up. I stand from my desk and lay on my bed. All I can think is what happened on Earth.
(On Earth-the past)
When I was 5, Jen was 3. Our parents were retired, mom an admiral and dad a general.
One night our house was on fire at 6am. My mother grabbed me and Jen, threw us out and yelled at us to run. I did but Jen kept on tripping, so I carried her to one of her favorite trees. We were sobbing, scrapes covered us and we both still smelled of smoke.
Until I was 10 and she was 8, we scavenged the slums for food and clothes. That’s when we wondered into gang territory.
“What are you doing in Red property?” a woman asked, taking out a pistol.
“Our parents were killed and we’re just looking for some food.” Jen whispered.
“Your in Tenth Street Reds territory. Leave or die!” the woman hissed.
“What about joining?” I asked.
“What?” the woman snapped.
“WHAT IF WE JOIN!” I snarled.
“Fine. Fallow me.” The woman spat and turned around. Jen and I did that. Soon we were members of a gang.
Later when I was 17, I found out that the woman, who had first met us in the Reds’ property, set our house on fire. I went insane and ran off. When I was sane once more, I forgot about Jen and the promise I made her after we had first become alone.
“I will protect you, Jen. Forever.” I had promised, but I didn’t keep my word.
I left and joined the military.
(SR-2)
I sat up.
“I’m so sorry, Jen.” I whispered.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE: Ruthless
(SR-2, Captain’s cabin, alone)
I lay on the bed, my eyes closed and body limp. In my mind I saw the slaver base of Torfan blow to bits, my allies inside. What made me kill them to kill all the slaver, I don’t know. All I do know is what I did.
(The past-Torfan)
“Go, go, go!” I yelled at my troops. “Make sure they all die.” I ordered. They pulled out shotguns, pistols, assault rifles and grenades. Each one of them killed many slavers. As did I, though I was out first.
“We have to set the bomb off now!” a soldier told me.
“No, my troops are still in there! They will not die, give them a few moments.” I growled.
“We can’t wait, Shepard.” a superior told me.
“Fine. They will be honored, not forgotten.” I managed. “I’m going back to base, I just can’t watch.”
When I was back at base, all I heard were screams and an explosion.
(SR-2)
“I’m so sorry.” I think.

Aw yeah! I managed to recruit Garrus on Insanity.

Man, I hate the vorcha. Mercs, gunship, no problem, but those little ****ers? Vermin. I never take the renegade interrupt to stab the guy in the back - that just seems WAY too mean, even against a batarian. But if it was a vorcha, I'd do it.

Whta build is Kyrie, because on my insanity run I had a infiltrator and the easiet way to kill vorcha is with headshots. i always imagined Garrus going "damn shepard, I wish i was that good at sniping" in the random squad banter that should be happening. so I'm guessing the gunship had like three layers of protection because I've never not stabbed the guy who's fixing it and I just recently (about a few months after my first playthrough) realised I could hack the heavy mech. Garrus's recruitment mission is my favorite mission of all time(Kanye pun intended). Posted Image

Jessica always does that Renegade interrupt.  She doesn't have any love lost for batarians, and even less for mercs, so a batarian merc?  No hesitation, especially since a gunship would be a sum**** to take down regardless.  Every little edge helps.

That scene in the screenshot always gets me.  Shepard looks so stricken when she rolls Garrus over, and then when he wakes up all choking and gurgling and drowning in his own blood... yeah.  My first time through the game I was so scared, and mad.  "They couldn't bring him back just to kill him off!"  Luckily he's a "tough son of a ****," and just shrugged it off.  Garrus is the ultimate badass.

... it is a struggle not to romance him in ME2.  It really is.

Yeah, that whole mission is like 'Garrus! You're here! With me! And we're killing things! Just like old---Nononononononononono! Garrus! Wake up! C'mon! You can't just leave! You're (currently) the only anchor I have in this messed up world!'

Y'know, recruiting Garrus after Horizon could make sense story-wise. Shep's been shunned and ridiculed by the VS, and then they find that not all of thier friends distrust them. Then in comes Garrus and everything just seems a little less...heavy.

Or, at least that's how I see it. Shep's thrust into this new galaxy, filled with new aliens, technology and people, and all her old crew has moved on. So, seeing Garrus and working together with him, sort of brings back old memories for her, ones that she kind of needs to remember.

Garrus is awesome. I adore him. Just not in THAT way. Because Kyrie was all like:

"Garrus!"

And then all "Just like old times - except you wouldn't let me use your gun then."

Posted Image

And then she realized "gun" was an innuendo.

Now that is an epic trailer! You'll get 10/10 from me for this one. :) I hope ryn will 1-page it for you. Really gave me the chills!

Also, the Sovereign text is simply one of the most impressive, eerily well written pieces of game monologue ever written! Period.

@ ad: kyrie's an adept + barrier. i was not doing so well on landing headshots this time around. i could get one in, but not a second and without the canifiex the pistol wasn't doing enough damage. those vorcha move FAST. i'd do one hit and they were dancing around again and regening.

man, on insanity they flank you before you know it. it's funny, there are certain spots that i find really hard - more than "boss" areas, even. the big room of vorcha, krogan, and verran is horrible for me - the one to the right of the first shutter. the other one, the long pipe with barricades -not so much. on horizon, the praetorian is a pain, but it's those scions that get me. and then the husks on the way back on the collector ship. basically, kyrie doesn't do as well in close combat. she's a tactician, and somewhat squishy when out from cover.

Ooh!  Ooh!

I while back there was a question what screenshot is your favorite, that you feel summarizes your femShep in a single picture.  I couldn't think of one at the time, so I just thought, "Eh, I'll skip it."  But there is one!  I just remembered!

Posted Image

BAM!

The only way it could be better is if she were holding her sniper rifle.  Still, talk about a perfectly timed press of the screenshot key.  This is in the middle of her running and shooting her way out of the Collector base, but in the still, she looks so calm and deadly.  "Your move, punk."  Badass.

Not quite as badass as Noah striding out from under the gunship, though.  She scares me.

I love love love Garrus.  Luckily I find it easy not to romance him because he fits into the best bro role so very well.

It is jarring how little dialogue he has if you don't pursue the romance angle, though.
