It sort of goes off of the copies comment, but I was always curious about how much of Shepard's body Cerberus recovered. Sage and I briefly talked about this, but we couldn't come up with a solid answer. So I chose to go a different route: Most of Shep's body is wrecked when going through Alchera's atmosphere. Cerberus has little to work with, so they had to regrow most of her organs using cells from different volunteers or what they could recover. In a way, the body is both Shepard, and not Shepard and I thought it would make for an interesting perspective...especially considering Shep had some alcohol immunity before her death. When she takes that first drink at Hock's party on Bekenstein....
Think drunken Cameron on Kasumi's heist...or hungover Cameron. I'm still working out that little detail.
Thoughts?
Welllll... the stated goal of the Lazarus Project was to bring Shepard back exactly as she was (which I always found wierd since they put so many upgrades and cybernetics in her that she's not even close), but even after handwaving the ridiculous technology necessary to actually bring someone back from being dead and with the body mostly destroyed, it would be tough to buy that her organs were vat-grown transplants unless they basically turned off her immune system and she had to walk around inside an envirosuit like a quarian. Might as well just have them regrow the organs from her own tissue instead; genetically, every cell in the body is capable of reproducing any other cell, so all they would need is a single one of Shepard's stem cells and they could regrow every tissue and organ in her body. Might as well keep things as believable (hah) as possible when dealing with Lazarus, given the scientific impossibility of the entire project.
Also, given the fact that Shepard in-game seems able to recover from any alcohol within minutes regardless of its strength, is capable of swallowing straight poison and surviving, and can even drink ryncol (which is literally radioactive) with no long term ill effects, I'd say Cerberus' upgrades included a rather incredible toxin filtration system.

Hmmm, I suppose that could work! Thanks for the aid, Sable. I could go off on the fact that Shep's not entirely human anymore, like you disscussed way back a ways (when I was still a lurker.)
I suppose it's back to the drawing board. I want to get Shep to feel a little distinct and alien, like she doesn't feel right in her own body. Maybe I could go off on the upgrades (Bone/Skin Weaves) she find in the game. Would Shep's flesh still feel real, do you think? And how would Shep go about upgrading her skin and bones?
What's something new I could bring to the idea that Shep doesn't feel right with all the upgrades and her surroundings. You and sage have got some interesting points on the matter regarding how Shep feels about being ressurected...
Any other thoughts?

Don't forget something as simple as those glowing scars (and eyes) she sees everytime she looks in the mirror. Even if your Shep's a paragon she will still have the scars for a bit. I think my paragon's scars didn't fully disappear until after Horizon.

Horzion could signify that Shep's (kind of) coming to terms with her differences and that the scars continue to fade of the couse of the story, yet a few little nicks and tears continue to stay.

Anyways, I've made it to Illium. I have a question. I usually save LOTSB for after the Suicide Mission. But was thinking of doing it before this time, is it worth it? I mean which is "better" doing it before the Suicide Mission or after it?
And yes, this is character (Jo) romancing Liara this time around.

I think the mission it's the same. What changes is the cabin scene. There are different dialog options.
I'm doing an engineer run myself, and i'm planning doing LotSB after the DCS.
From a gameplay perspective is really worth doing before the SM. There are a lot of goodies. 1 damage upgrade for each weapon (pistol, AR, SR, shotty, SMG) and a damage protection.
Also, you can respec your squaddies. That's awesome.
But, the cabin scene, after the SM.

Thanks, Scamper. I could work off that as well. I often forget the simple and obvious things when I write sometimes. Glad to have you guys giving me feedback.

Horizon makes an interesting turning point for Shepard. For my renegade, Lucy, it's the point where she really went spiralling out of control. Up until then she'd managed to maintain some sort of equilibrium. By the time Horizon rolls around she's met up with two old teammates but only one is with her and he's not the one she really wants. (Lucy's a soldier so she had Tali in her party throughout ME1). Then to have Ash - who she regarded as one of her closest friends and someone she could always count on - basically call her a traitor... That was pretty much it. Lucy starts recovering after getting Tali back on her team and finding LIara (ME1 LI). But it's pretty touch and go for awhile. I have her staying away from Jack after Pragia. She encouraged Jack to shoot Aresh at the time, but realizes later that they would just reinforce each others self-destructive behaviors. Fortunately, with Tali on the team she does have a moderating influence.

I really love the manipulation you did here. The lighting, the destroyed Normady in the far left corner,it really sort of envokes a sadness. Thanks for the plug. It was interesting to read. ;D
@Scamper:
That's an interesting way of looking at it. I love all the differences our Shep can have, it's so cool. Cam was a bit of the same, she just sort of raged in her cabin afterwords.
@Sialater
I'll take a look at that! Thanks!

You could do what avalon30 suggested, or - if you're as lazy as I am - write your post in what you get after clicking ... or use the standard form,Skyline_Stanza wrote...

Ok, so does anyone know
how to modify a link so that it displays text OTHER than the link
name? It might seem simple to you, but I'm not very internet literate in
that regard. Help?
write the text you want the link to show (i.e. its name), mark it and
then you click the globe symbol (should say something like "insert/edit Link") and paste the link address into the URL-field.
Hmmm... That makes the term "cybernetic organism" come to my mind. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png[/smilie]Skyline_Stanza wrote...

Didn't you guys have a conversation about Shep's humanity after the Lazerus project? Something about an Organic AI with Shep's personality and that the Shep in ME1 truely died in the beginning of ME2?

However, the Shadow Broker Base does contain an abundance of goodies that can be useful during the events of the game, such as the various weapon/armour upgrades, and the ability to redistribute skill points for your squadmates. There are advantages to completing the DLC both before and after the suicide mission, to be honest.

In an early conversation Shepard asks Jacob about Project Lazarus and mentions cybernetics, but it completely slipped my mind. It's time again for a plythrough in which I don't skip most of the dialogue.

Y'know, it's the little things you notice, isn't it? I actually didn't know that the shield flare looked like that. Hexagons are certainly a Cerberus thing, (thier logo, Miranda's outfit, and now the sheild generator.) I think they call it a http://tvtropes.org/.../BeehiveBarrier
That's actually Geth Shield Boost. It has a slightly different look than a regular shield recharge with the hex pattern.

Glad you liked it. And kudos on the "Iwakura-san": few people get the name order + the suffix right.
And the sadness, yeah, that was intentional, of course; just filling a void I wish Bioware had filled for us. Then again, if we can make fanart and fanfic to deal with the 'open wounds,' so to speak, then I say it's still all good.
