Hmmm... That makes the term "cybernetic organism" come to my mind. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png

Didn't you guys have a conversation about Shep's humanity after the Lazerus project? Something about an Organic AI with Shep's personality and that the Shep in ME1 truely died in the beginning of ME2?

Yeah, that was mostly me.  I don't think my personal theory turned out to be very popular.  Still, it's the only way in my mind that I can reconcile the Lazarus Project with real biology.

And yet again I'm reminded of Buffy from your text, Iwakura-san.

"The hardest thing in this word is to live in it."

I really love the manipulation you did here. The lighting, the destroyed Normady in the far left corner,it really sort of envokes a sadness. Thanks for the plug. It was interesting to read. ;D

Glad you liked it. And kudos on the "Iwakura-san": few people get the name order + the suffix right. :P

And the sadness, yeah, that was intentional, of course; just filling a void I wish Bioware had filled for us. Then again, if we can make fanart and fanfic to deal with the 'open wounds,' so to speak, then I say it's still all good.

Posted Image Oh, no worries. I know more than just the suffixes. I took Japanese in my high school for about 3 years. Granted, most of it's gone out of my brain over the summer. But  I do know sentence structure, suffixes, and little words like how to count and asking how are you and things like that.

Yeah, that...void. I'm glad for fanfiction. Helps address things that you think should have been included.

I remember a little while back when we were talking about facial structures and someone mentioned that facial structure 9 gets no love. Well, I used facial structure 9 on my PC version of me2 and I was able to make an exact copy of Kallen's Origional face from me1!!!!!! FS 9 gets alot of love from me now XD

If I remember correctly, there was some talk a long while ago regarding 'Asian' femsheps (In terms of appearance, I mean).  Since I was bored enough, I took to creating a new femshep, and I tried my best to make her look East-Asian.  Kinda hard, since none of the eyes seem accurate enough, but here you go:

And yeah, it came out a bit dark, but that's just the lighting in that particular scene.
I'll repost a different picture as soon as I get the chance

Thanks jwalker! Yes, the voices are quite good.

Nonetheless, I switched to English as soon as I knew how to due to several VA changes (really annoying) and some translation issues like translating "you" as the formal "Sie" instead of the informal "Du" where it just feels very unnatural and out of place (i.e. on Horizon).

oh, i see.
well, i never heard the spanish version (not even sure there is one) but mixing "tú / usted" would be way too wierd.

Hmm, yeah. That scene is surprisingly good. There also used to be a FemShep-Liara lovescene in german, it was pretty good but I can't find it anymore. But then I saw this and knew that I was gonna play Mass Effect in English. I've also seen my cousin play the German version of ME2 with FemShep and it was horrible. The voice work for ME1&2 is substandard, if you ask me.

I disagree. While I do think that the VAs in ME1 were better than in ME2 (well, except maybe Dr. Chakwas), I don't think it was "substandard" or even "horrible".

Kyrie is ANGRY!

Did anyone else find the Favorn poisoning hard to decide how to deal with? The renegade option was just so...sadistic. Kyrie would have taken him into custody in the past (her preferred way of dealing with scum, but as that wasn't an option, I went with the "neutral" open which seemed more paragon than the charm option. Hmmm...

And Miri was no help at all. She kept wanting to go back for some shoes she saw at Harrot's.

The renegade option was no problem at all for Lucy. But, then, her pre-ME1 background is Colonist/Ruthless. The events of ME1 may have opened her eyes to the bigger picture of protecting the galaxy vs. protecting humans, but she still has no love lost for batarians. The batarians in Mordin's recruitment mission don't fare well.

@ Chignon:

KotoR for example is far superior. I usually find the German version of a game in about as good as the English one, sometimes even better. But I just can't say that about the Mass Effect games. And...

OK, enough subjectivity from me.

I missed the Favorn poisoning the first time around.  This time around it took me two days to decide what I wanted to do with him.  In the end, Shep insisted we let him go, which I didn't expect from her, given her inclination towards batarians, but so it goes.

Apparently, she could relate to his losing his family, which trumped all else.  Doesn't help when he's probably going to set up shop elsewhere, but it's good to know she can still throw me for a loop....

lol YES! my thoughts exactly. kyrie made the mistake of actually asking him why he did it. he was so...pathetic she just walked away in disgust.

but then she pulled a renegade option on patriarch and it "felt" more paragon to me than the paragon option. ME2 alignment was/is so bizarre to me

Wahhh!!!!!   When did I learn German??  I understood every word of that  :P

Nice hearing another voice actor, but she ain't no Hale.   Not saying the German VA isn't talented, its just that Jen Hale is perfect!

random question before I log:

How does your femshep personalize her cabin (if at all?). Does she do the model ship thing? Have a pet? or leave it totally spartan? Do you do that because of the looks, credits, or because you feel it suits her?

Well, I took German for several years, and I could understand it all. :P (mind you, I also did German tech support for HP for a while).

Those were pretty good voices, actually (I recognize some from TV movies and such). But they were really into it, you could tell.

Wie wäre es mit "Auf wiedersehen!"? ... Arrrghhhh...

LOL. That was funny.

"Um, Commander... when is the last time you had your ears waxed?"
