Hey, characterization questions are fun. If anything they even make you think about stuff that you might not have even thought of yet.
Hell, it's been a few pages since the last one (which I realize I never answered), so let's throw a few out there now.
*Your Shepard has a "free day". On this one day nothing else matters. There is absolutely nothing that she, or any of her crew, need to either worry about or be threatened by. Not the Collectors, not the Reapers, not Cerberus. This day is hers to do whatever she wants before having to go back to "business as usual". What would your Shepard spend that day doing?
*Out of everything she owns (or did own, if it went down with the Normandy or something similar) what is the object that your Shepard treasures the most?
*What is one fact (or more, if you're on a roll) about your Shepard that, in universe, no one else knows? It can be related to her past, her personality, whatever.
... that should keep ya'll busy for a while
Haven't done this quite yet as I've been falling behind on following the thread thanks to school work. Still, I need a break, and I figure characterizing my FemShep is as good a way to take a break as any. Hopefully I'll be able to live up to the standard you guys have been setting in terms of characterization. (:
Kate would spend that day with her crew. After losing her team on Akuze and her family on Mindoir, Kate has come to treasure the precious few moments she has with her friends and refuses to let herself take them for granted. She might gossip a little with Tali while working on the drive core with her, get tipsy with Kasumi on the observation deck, spar with Grunt in the hanger, or joke around with Joker. So long as she's with them and they're enjoying themselves, she could care less as to the activity. In the evening she'd probably retire to her cabin and spend a few hours alone with Garrus, just talking, cuddling, whatever they feel like doing together.
Kate's most treasured possession had to be the crudely woven bracelet made from purple and red thread that her sister had made for her to showcase a purple bead Kate had found at school. After having worn it for over twenty years, it wasn't exactly in the best shape when the Normandy went down, but that doesn't stop Kate from feeling devastated over its loss. It was the only possession she'd taken with her from Mindoir after she was rescued, and it had never been seen off her wrist. Kate's sister Maria had told her that, so long as Kate wore the bracelet, she would be able watch over Kate, protecting her from harm and bringing her good luck. While such superstitions are childish, Kate couldn't help but feel comforted by the talisman whenever she went into battle as it meant that no matter what happened, she was never truly alone. After Akuze, it became even more of an emotional crutch after she struggled with survivor's guilt and a nearly crippling sense of self-loathing. She is still coping with the loss of the bracelet, as now she has nothing to connect her to or remind herself of her family.
Something no one would know about Shepard would be how she discreetly funnels a good portion of credits to the families of her squad who died on Akuze by way of atonement for failing her squad. She has made it her personal mission to make sure that any children they left behind get a good education and that none of their families have to struggle to break even. Whether or not they suspect that she is their silent benefactor is unknown.
