It's interesting how things differ between countries. Here in Finland there's no way you could name a girl as Ari. In other words, it's as manly name as Bob in English speaking countries. Just to point out that. I actually thought that you were speaking of maleShep in this thread when there was no picture. :D

This Ari is short for Ariadne. I think Ari is typically a name given to boys in the US, too. But I appreciate playing with naming conventions so I would be likely to name a girl Bob or a boy Jen in one of my stories...

I like choosing names from Greek myths... Andromache and Hector are other favorite character names of mine for various video game characters... This could be a helpful strategy, perhaps, for those who have trouble naming a femshep

I understand.  As I'm sure people have noticed, I have a love of Irish names.  Most of my Shepards have them, and it makes picking out a name a little easier for me as well.  I'm currently pouring over the name I want to choose for my Sentinel.

I named Meghan after my niece. Just added the "H" for variety.

Avery's been a RP name of mine since KOTOR.

Man, I always finish the Jack mission and never know what to make of that girl. She's so... something. Especially playing an adept colonist shep, I keep thinking "This is what she might have become."

I can't help but notice Jack's unexplainable lack of armour. Nonetheless, it's a nice screen, sagequeen.

Right. Even a small top that still shows off her tats would of been nice. But with that said I actually liked her character and kind of wish she had a lot more to say to femshep. Maybe because her personality kind of remind me of someone I know. Who knows.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  Both Avery and Meghan feel that way.

I like Jack - I would have liked the chance to get to know her better as FemShep - and the amount of care they put into her character design. I just wish Bioware would have thought of another way to show off her obvious assets and tattoos.

1. Who do you think secretly (or not so secretly) has a crush on your femshep in the ME universe? It could be obvious candidates like Liara and Kaidan, or it might be non-canon, secret admirers like Udina

and 2. Who does your femshep crush on (even if she'd never admit it)?

1. For Dia, this is really difficult. She doesn't frequently put herself out there, but I do think that Jacob might've grown to have a bit of a thing for her. For Stella, I like to think that Tela Vasir kept a little datapad where she wrote her name over and over and surrounded it with little hearts.

2. Hahah, oh dear. Dia has had a crush on Admiral Hackett since she was a teenager (she knew him through her mother). Thankfully, once she became zombie!Shep, she finally made good on that attraction. Stella, funnily enough, has a bit of a thing for the Illusive Man. Which, in my mind, also develops into something slightly less stable after the end of the game.

She really misses going to the Galaxy Map and getting calls from Steven. Poor thing.

I tend to pick old fashioned names for my Shepard. My main is Joan because it sounds similar to John and just sounds like a strong name (eg - Joan of Arc). Other names I've used were Jane (just kept the default) and Judy. Just to keep it short and sweet and old school.

How about the fact that her guns look like they're attached to her flesh? That's gotta be painful.

There's no elaborate story behind the naming of my canon Shepard, Kate. I merely thought that it rolled off the tongue best!

For my first shep I just used the default Jane and she's my canon also. It looked good enough name at the time and still is.

For my other Sheps I pick names that sound good in my head. I think only one I've actually picked from different reason is Jennifer. She's named after Hale. :D

Same with me. I was sitting around thinking, "Hell... I don't know what to name her..." And then I thought of my FO3 characters' names and went with Faith. Little did I know that I'd just made my character's name a really odd religious pun...

The name Alice has always held an interesting place in my heart, because I like the way it flows off the tongue. Plus, I loved Alice in Wonderland as a kid, so there's that little aspect to it.

And Alice isn't a name I hear often, so I thought it would be an interesting name for a Shepard.

@Sage: :P I like the entirety of the squad, but Jack...Jack's something. (Never mind the fact that, for once, I actually had to REGAIN her loyalty because my paragon score wasn't high enough when she and Miranda had thier catfight.)

I agree with the aspect that she and Kyrie are two different sides of the same coin, just as Jack and Miranda are as well.

Hmmm... It is really interesting seeing where all you got your names.  Bioware really did right if we can get this absorbed in what is basically an open-ended character.  B)As for mine, I always liked the name Samantha, but she struck me as the type who would absolutely HATE her full name.  So Sam it is.:wizard:

Usually when naming a character I break out the baby name books and go through them until I find one that fits. My femSheps are my first characters to depart from that system.

Lucy and Andromeda were easy. Andromeda's a perfect name for a spacer kid. Lucy is modeled after Xena, so named for Lucy Lawless. For Jih I took the idea of creating a nickname from the first letter of a name, chose one that sounded good and made her name from that. So Jih = g.

I'm not sure what you mean.
Abby tells Jack to spare Aresh, but something bothers me. It seems like Jack is waiting for Shepard's order or something. All of a sudden, a very determined and independent woman wants her boss to tell her what to do. Just like that, out of the blue.

Back to femshep. Inspired by chig's Noah, I took this one in the Citadel...

Names....

the name 'Rachel' just popped into my head one day and I knew I needed to make a Shepard with that name, so I did. I think it's a great name and it sounds good with 'Shepard', IMO.

Nice pics everyone!
