I always thought it as a bit strange to read about long haired Shepards in ME2 fic, I mean she just rolled off the table with a full head of long hair after being resurrected? Being "meat and tubes" doesn't sound like her hair was spared going through atmo in just her armor.  Yes she was in the process of being resurrected for 2 years, but I figured it was closer to the end of the process that she was put back together enough where her hair would be growing back.

When it came time to write my fic I considered having Kate have very short hair when we first saw her because she'd been bald when she first woke up a few months prior. But instead I poked fun at the whole concept and went with something along the lines of "artificially accelerated hair growth process gone horribly wrong." resulting in long hair that was an awful fake looking color and terrible in texture and so her hair was short because she hacked it all off herself once it started going out a bit on its own.

Thanks, I do too.  It does great things for the line of her face (forehead - chin) in profile.  Also for her nose when she's looking down.  Then again, I am partial to my Ella. 

And I greatly enjoyed Kate's explanation of 'hair regrowth gone horribly wrong' in your a/u, Shenzi.

Glad to help, BioWare should have done it in the first place but it appears that FemShep wasn't very high on their list of priorities in ME2.

Here's some more shots of Version 4 Danielle with her new orange hair. I thought the old version of Danielle was a very good design from a  technical standpoint but something was lacking from it. She might have stood out in a crowd but it would take a bit to find her among the other Face 7 red heads since it's a very popular combination. I really wanted the face to be as unique as her character is to me however I was extremely wary of changing the face if only because I didn't want to lose her in the process. It took a few hours of playing around with settings and textures but I really like the end result.

My Shepard hates wearing dresses. She'd live in her armor if she could. On the Normandy she wears the regular jumpsuit thing.

I tried the shaved head look at first, but it wasn't really fitting her well. I do like having bald female characters, it is interesting. But I can't really make their faces fit the style well enough

My Shep isn't a huge dress-fan, either - but after spending some time with Kasumi, she does realize how important it is to let her hair down once in awhile and show those she cares about a softer side. (Romance interests and old friends like Liara) She knows a lot of people just see the armor and given the whole resurrection mess, she does want a reminder of her humanity from time to time. It's why she wears the dress when she invites Liara up. Liara might need a friend, but Shepard needs to not be the Commander for just a little bit just as much.

@yukidama -- Oh, I like the corrected visor line up. I've always liked those type of head gears, but I don't put them on Joan because she's pure soldier and it doesn't really make sense to me for her to have high-tech gadgets like that. I like to leave that to Garrus so he's all cute standing next to Joan, lol. =D

@Akari -- I  your photoshopped image with Shepard appearing in the lines like that. She's a kickass looking character. Thanks for sharing.

@Shenzi -- I actually wrestled with this very issue in ME2. I RPed Joan has having naturally black hair, but bleached blonde for the hell of it. Sooo in ME2, when they rebuilt her, do I make her have black hair again since that's the DNA they'd have rebuilt from or do I come up with a RP reason for her to wake up on that table with bleached blonde hair? Miranda in the beginning of the game (in one of those computer voice overs, I think) said that she brought back Shepard exactly as she was, no detail unchanged, etc. So I like to think that Miranda fought to keep Shepard with blonde hair and whoever constructed her just modified the DNA a little bit so her hair was growing out blonde even though her eyebrows remained black. LOL. I may change this again in ME3 depending on if graphics are tweaked again or if ME3 Shepards look exactly the same as ME2 Shepards. I don't write fanfic so it's not like I have to actually worry about this. =p

@yukidama (again!) -- I agree about wanting to stay in armor aboard Normandy. My Joan wears the suit that covers her up completely from the chin down. Professional, professional, professional. (I have other Shepards that are more relaxed and show some neck or cleavage, but not my hardass Joan. )

Speaking for me personally, I think she looks a little scrawny without hair.  Her neck is a bit on the thin side and without hair she looks kind of bobble-headed.

Mostly, though, it's because she hates it.  Which kind of surprised me (and her!) as she's about the least vain person you'd ever want to meet (I only included eyeliner because most of the time femShep's eyes look really wonky without it, especially in ME1, I would've preferred not to have any).  But it turns out there is one thing she's vain about and that's her hair.  She looked into the mirror for the first time in her quarters on the SR2 and saw the scars and bald head and thought herself hideous.  As soon as she could she found a makeup store on the Citadel and bought some mascara, and she purposefully put off other upgrades to the ship in order to install the dermal regenerator in the medbay as soon as possible (which is why she gets rid of her scars and actually grows some hair well before Horizon).  She wants as little as possible reminding her that she feels like a machine now.  It doesn't really work, but at least after that she didn't pull the vampire imitation with mirrors any longer.

I'm glad you're already recovering.  The real deep aches are still to come, though; I'll still emphasize that a good chiropractor is necessary.  Just relax and drink lots of water and use icepacks liberally.

Hehe, I had no idea what I was doing, so Adele is a Soldier. But the minute I switched out to the sniper rifle and started shooting fools in the head, I decided it was time to snipe. Which made having Garrus in my party a bit redundant, but I don't care xD They can match. Oh god, it's like having matching armor in DAO, so corny. Oh well!

For Adele it wasn't a matter of staying in armor to show she's strong or professional (not a "Let them see me as a warrior" thing) as much as her own comfort level. She likes wearing her armor and she likes being prepared at a moment's notice. She may also be a bit paranoid after being killed and all, but that's not the main reason. I guess she's just not a fan of dressing up and being "sexy", she never really liked parties either so dresses are only for necessary occasions like infiltration xD So when Liara or Garrus (her LI) came in and she was wearing her plain jumpsuit, it was just the same old Adele, basically.
