A lot of people probably won't get to hear it unless they listen to it on YouTube, but I think Shepard's sexiest line is during the Jacob romance.  The "You know what, Jacob? I think we need each other. I know I need you" line is one of my favorites. Ever. The way her voice goes all soft and you can hear a little purr creeping into it. Guh. Plus, I mean:

Oh, I have a question.  Every time I play LOTSB I'm struck by Hale's voice work, of course, but one particular line really stands out to me as being drop-dead sexy.  It's when Liara is explaining what "azure" means and Shepard says, "I meant, where on the asari body."  I love love love Hale's delivery of that line.  She doesn't purr or make her voice all husky or anything, like she normally does when a sexy voice is called for; instead, her voice just sort of drops in volume a bit and gets softer, almost like she's half-embarrassed to say it and she's trying to speak to Liara privately.  It just makes it sound so spontaneous and intimate that it feels like the sexiest voice work I've ever heard from her, to say nothing of the sexiest Shepard line.

What do you think the sexiest femShep line is?

This is not answer to your question, sorry, lol, but along the lines of what you're talking about.

I was kind of shocked to hear MY shepard say that to Liara. The tone of voice of how that line was delivered really cam across as flirtatious, which was weird to hear since my Shep is already taken by Kaidan/Thane. So I'm like "Ummmm, Shep, watchujussay??"

So as a Kaidan/Thane lover and as a Liara-is-muh-gurl Shepard, I tried to think of this line as some fun between the two as good buddies. Was anybody else in that situation and tried to think of it that as a "bestfriend remark"?

Actually, I didn't really like FemShep's voice in that convo. It's TOO much. She didn't sound like that with the other LIs, not even Kaidan or Liara.



But then, the Jacob romance just seems off completely to me. And yes, I have a Meghan save with Jacob. A tiny spoiler for Loved: Jacob actually looks a lot like her fiance that died on Akuze. The Illusive Man sent him to her in the hopes that Jacob would play a male Mata Hari in that instance. To me, that background explains Meg's voice when she talked to him.

She's flirting with a man she has growing feelings for. In the beginning, yeah, the voice can be a little much, but by that conversation, I believe Shepard's tone and what she has to say is far more genuine. I know my voice can get pretty low-pitched when I'm talking to my girlfriend; it's the same thing here, in my opinion. Better to flirt and actually sound flirty than flirt and sound like you're having a plain conversation with someone you're not emotionally attached to.

I've noticed that there's a somewhat strong hatred for all the human LI's. Kaidan gets pegged a whiner when talking to femshep, Jacob gets pegged as boring, Miranda's a bitch, Jack's insane, and Ashley's a racist. Then when the Alien LI's are brought in they;re perfect. Garrus "cares so much for femshep!" Tali's "so amazing and perfect for shep" Liara is "Sheps best friend/ best lover and she's amazing and cute and beautiful" Thane is "so caring and kind to femshep and calls her Siha". Kaidan and Jacob(eventually for him) care for femshep alot, Ashley cares alot about her too (even though her romance was cut from me1 and with some mods Miranda and Jack care for her alot too) so what's the deal that make the aliens to perfect and the humans so crappy as LI's?

Eh, he's actually fine if you get past the initial "talking for a bit" line and then choose middle or bottom options only.  I actually like Jacob as a person, he's honorable and obviously a very competent soldier.  it's just that his romance is so... gah.

So yeah, I just ignore Jessica's voice when starting a conversation with Jacob and pretend she's as businesslike as she was with Kaidan.

I would say personal preferences: some people like the personalities of the alien LI than the human ones. The same could be said of the one who love the human LI's.

It's all just one bug matter of preference and opinion!

Also, I've learned I don't have the patience in dealing with all the little sliders in CC. Hahaha....ugh. Which is why Cam is such a breeze to make and the only face I've ever really liked to begin with.

That may be true of some people, but I think in general, some defining characteristic "works" for everyone differently, and that's why they do or don't like certain LIs.  I do think it's funny, though, when people who called Kaidan whiny for talking about Jump Zero will call Jack deep for sharing her past, or people who claim Ashley is a horrible racist will have no trouble with romancing Miranda...I don't think it's limited to the aliens, when it comes to snap judgements.

I know about the thread moving fast. Case in point.. just trying to catch up now with what most might consider a closed subject since it happened a few pages ago now! So sorry to bring it up again, but just got home awhile ago.
That's why I've tried to join in on this thread. I love seeing the others work/screen shots/words they have to say. But Sable said it best. It's just the natural progression of things, some will be better in here than others. But back to your regular scheduled femshep posts!

As a adept, being able to take out Matriarch Beneziah plus her elite commando unit with my Biotics,  I would say they were pretty damn awesome.   As a human Biotic, she certainly has the talent to take out the best.  However whether thats based on tactics or raw biotic strength you could debate.

However with the Lazerus project fitting you with an L5 implant I would say that improved her abilities further.   It somewhat bugs me that adepts sheps abilities are never mentioned, despite the fact she is certainly one of the most outstanding Biotics in the Galaxy no matter what way you look at it.

Avery the Adept could probably take Jack.  But Jack would wipe the floor with Meghan the Vanguard.  Unless Meg resorted to extra-biotic tactics.  Jack was fighting in controlled circumstances.  Meghan grew up a gang member.  She knows a lot more dirty tricks.

um....probably something in the not-yet-released Kaidan DLC. *sigh*

but until then... probably, "Come here." from pre-Ilos. it's just simple, straightforward, and ever so slightly shy (i think). but then, i'm usually a little distracted by the other voice actor in those scenes.... *ahem* 

@ calla - that's awesome. i'm glad to know there are some good lines for femshep/jacob. all i've ever heard were awful (the heavy music sound track added in on youtube didn't help)

@ sky: biotic shep abilities? well, since it's my headcanon, my shepard, my game, i rate Kyrie as ridiculously high as a biotic. she is an adept, true, but i play her pretty heavily to the biotics, WAY pared down on the equipment and armor (hence, the crap merc armor). in my fic i rated her more power than kaidan (as per ME1) - though slightly less precision and control than him, less power than jack, but more precision and control. blows miri and jacob out of the water, better than thane for power, equal for control, less on both than samara, but that's to be expected.

kyrie is a battlefield manipulator and sharp-shooter, with powers, two pistols, and that's all. if i could get rid of the heavy weapons, i actually would. it's a glorious way to play insanity.

I have to agree, that annoys me too.  Still, there is plenty of hatred directed at Liara and Tali too, and I've seen some directed towards Thane as well.  Even Garrus isn't totally immune, and he's the most popular character in Mass Effect (as per multiple polls I've seen here and elsewhere).

I personally don't care if the LI is human or not.  I find Liara's romance no more odd because she's blue than I do Leliana's in Dragon Age (though less deep and involved, of course, at least until LOTSB came along).  And I love Garrus' romance because he's such a perfect match personality-wise for Shepard, in my opinion.  Phsyically speaking it's actually really awkward, even though turians look awesome I think a physical relationship with one would be... rather difficult.  But it's always based on personality; I liked Leliana and Alistair's romances but not Morrigan or Zevran's for example.  Doesn't mean I hate those characters, I don't think BioWare has made a character I hated, just that the personality and storytelling involved in those romances didn't do much for me.

Anyway, long story short, even though an "alien" romance might add the idea of some extra "spice", I don't think their popularity is a result of their alienness (except perhaps ME1 Liara simply because asari can be mistaken as "space ho's"), I think it's just that personality and writing behind those characters appeals to more people.  You have to admit, people like Jack or Ashley just appeal to a narrower category of people, by the very nature of their writing, than someone like Liara does.

That being said, I'm still mystified that Jack is not an option for femShep.  Seems like somebody like Jack would be the last person to care about the gender of who she's in bed with.

I think the alien LI's have somewhat of an advantage over the human ones. They HAVE to be more fleshed out, simply with the act of creating their culture and backstory, you have to figure out how that character fits in to his (or her) culture.



With the human LI's it's: He's Canadian. Or, she's Australian and our brains fill the rest in.
