I think the killing off of Garrus would turn out very poorly for Bioware.  He is the one character that almost every subset of fans like.  He's badass for the Shooter fans, his voice slays many a female gamer, and the hardcore RPG people love his combat versatility.  The death of Garrus would not be a solid financial move for Bioware.

Yep.  I would bet my boots Garrus survives the series.  I'm not usually one to care too much about these things, but I'd be seriously pissed if they killed off Garrus.  There's no reason to.  A very WTH moment storywise.  Not a sad, tragic but understandeable moment like in Dragon Age (cough Alistair), but a WTF were the writers thinking moment.

Are you saying Sable  could only see it if she used flycam? Because I've seen this scene happen in youtube videos before and Kasumi still leans on Shep.

I just love what it shows about Kasumi in this scene: she's calm, confident, but also a little playful and funny.

well, this is the first time it happened in my runs, and this is the first time i'm using fly cam. never seen it before.

Kaidan - his romance has the most believeable build-up, in my opinion. What I found refreshing and loved about his character is that Shepard doesn't have to fix/save him; he is at ease with who he is. And tall, dark and handsome never hurt anyone, either.

This is why Kaidan's my favorite one (well, there are other reasons; i like his personality, he's really the only remotely hunky male around...ummm IMO.)  Anyways, I'm a sucker for a good romance.  Girl gets guy, girl loses guy, they find their way to each other in the end.  They do find their way to each other in the end, right?  The fact that it's spread out over three games does make it a little crappy right now for Kaidan fans.  Ah well.

i think the thing i like least about the kaidan-mance is the regs issue. i really find that hard to justify, and i totally understand people who steer clear of it for that reason alone. dunno though - i went to create a shep for the kaidan romance, she became kyrie, and when she gets her claws in something, she doesn't let go. 'tis a little scary, really.

one thing I have always wondered about as it every been established how long Shepard Joker Kaidan and Anderson knew each other before the first game starts it does give the feeling that they had all served together for a while before the events of me 1

I think that's interesing, sage, about how Kyrie came to be. Starting out as a Femshep create for the Kaidan romance, and the evolving on her own. That's cool.

DId anyone else have a specific goal or characterization in thier mind for their Shepard when they created them? Or was it just one of those deals where the ideas just keeping coming/your Shepard writers herself?

The one thing I kept in mind when creating Cam was that I knew she had to be biotic. From there, she...sort of came to being over time.

I've been watching vids on the Suicide Mission, and something popped into my head. It's a little subjective, but here goes.

Would it be going too far to speculate what could have happened if you replaced Shep as one of the specialists in specific points on the mission? Or would that detract from having to recruit Samara/Jack/Tali/Legion etc?

I've always thought it would be interesting to have a biotic Shep hold the barrier as a squad of three of your chosen team-mates fight Collectors and Husks, but that's just the writer in me, plucking little 'what if' ideas out of the air. (and a result of listening to 'The Long Walk' for a good amount of the time.)

ok, so I'm doing a new run for the LotSB, since I've never played it, but I kinda want a new hairstyle for my FemShep. The sexy one is getting old. So here is the latest I've tried. (I play xbox, so it's a boring shot just before freedom's progress)

It's Kaidan only because 1) I like that he/Ashley were there from the start  and 2) I like the dramatic turn the relationship took in ME2. I like good stories and this one has a lot of potential in the character growth department. The runner-up would be Garrus because like #1, he was there all along and while there's no major drama going on, they've been through enough to consider taking it to the next level (i.e. this ain't a fling).

For some reason, I don't understand why, but I cannot seem to play multiple characters in ME. I have a bajillion characters in Dragon Age, but ME is more personal for me and I don't want to start mucking about with carbon copies of the one true Shepard. So I only have a Thane romance completed. I've been meaning to get around to a character to romance Garrus because I really do like that character and want to see how it ends. But ultimately the Kaidan/Ashley story is the one that I'm the most curious about.

With Alexis, I was specifically trying to recreate one of  my first "roleplaying" characters that I've evolved and adapted over the years. She seemed particularly sound to map over to the ME setting, since the original was a military kid of sorts, and a hero (albeit a reluctant one in the original setting). From there, Alexis Shepard evolved into her own person, writing her story as she went.

You'd actually be suprised what a little upgrading can do to a squadmates weapons and health. Once, I took Mordin and Garrus with me on Grunt's mission, and they cleaned house on those first few mercs at the beginning.
 
I just told them where to hide!  

But I can see where the AI might struggle with multiple enemies, it's true.  Curse you, Mass Effect squad AI, foiling all my neat ideas!

Depending on the difficulty level.... (cause that affects how often enemies use powers) your squad can do a lot of damage.

UJ is sort of refurbished goods. Being a colonist/sole survivor she was broken at one point, but got herself back together. Still, scars remain and so she has a tendency to gravitate toward other people who are damaged or scarred in some way.  While she had an eye for Ashley, ultimately she went for Liara.  Funny, UJ really didn’t like Liara when they first met.  She felt the Asari was a bit “too good” for the common folk, though she kept her thoughts to herself and played nice.  After Liara’s mother died, UJ stuck pretty close by.  It was the Asari’s incredible blend of beauty, innocence, intelligence, sophistication and even sadness that eventually won UJ over.  UJ knows it won’t be an easy relationship w/ Liara and her being the Shadow Broker is just part of their hurdle.  Shepard is a bit over protective of Liara and knows that she will always be the rock in that relationship, even as they both walk side by side. 

Of course there is a fly in the lotion.  UJ has a bit of a crush on Garrus and there are times when she would love to go to him and say, “hold me for just a second and let me catch my breath.”  But she can’t.  She doesn’t want to lead him on or hurt him (or Liara) in any way.  Yeah, she’s a kind hearted angst machine.

Too true, too true. I think Cam was getting a bit frustrated that, since Garrus had survived the rocket to the face on Omega, he seemed to think he could take erry single rocket from erry single Blue Suns Heavy trooper on Korlus.

Mordin was fine: I cheated and got his class power upgraded to full using a small level up glitch, so he had like 363 Sheilds, will the rest of us had like 250.

I think I'm the only person here who likes Thane.  

It's hard to explain really.  When I created Holly, I was actually considering Kaidan.  Unfortunately, that just didn't work. This is because I roleplay her as an extension of myself.  In that situation, I would not have had a relationship him. Very good friends, but no more than that.

Garrus is a very complicated situation.  I adore him, he's a fabulous character and I like Turians.  
It was very close between him and Thane.  That's why I wrote my fanfic and always imagine that happening in my head when it comes to Holly.

It's hard to explain why I like the Thane romance.  Maybe it's the emotion involved, the complexity of the character, or I might be drawn to tragic figures.  Holly and Thane are just a really good match for each other.

I'm a little afraid of what will happen in ME3, though..

That's definitely not true.  I LIKE Thane, but I didn't romance him.  He is really a very well-done character; probably better-done than a good number of other ME2 characters. (I used a semicolon! )  I just don't think my Femshep would break up with her current LI for him.

The thing about Thane is.... he's definitely a well-done character, but... he's kinda pointless. He does nothing well on the suicide mission which is what we were recruiting him for! A shame really. I really liked Thane as well.

I've been meaning to make a thane romancing FemShep, just never got around to it. I haven't even really finished my garrus romancing FemShep. =/

Ok. I think it suits her.
Like all the other FemSheps. They each have a certain look to them, and they look a bit weird ir you change it.
I beleve I changed Jen's once but she looked so different I restarted.

Oh, also do you guys a favorite style for your FemShep(s)? For clothing, armor and their face?

For Jane she loves to  wear the Chakwas uniform, with the same style hair and a mix of armor and of course  her fave visor.
But Jen likes the more formal uniform with the wavy hair and the N7 or Kestrel armor with the visor.
