I do find it interesting how much back story people create for their Shepard's. It's not something that really comes naturally to me; to think about why the character does what they do. I guess this stems from the fact that I only used to play JRPGs, where

Interesting point.  Western CRPG's orginated from ruleset ports from pencil and papergames.  KOTOR and NWN series are among those.

I have recently been thinking about who my Shapard is and have come up with a few bits and pieces but nothing substantial. Maybe it will come to me over time, who knows.

I've spent quite a few hours trying to get the backstory for my Canon FemShep just right.  I'm a bit of a perfectionist though. . .

Flycam there. It's a perk of having the PC version.

@ reed: you noticed that? yeah. the avatar's the older version of kyrie, the one i'm posting (hopefully not too often - don't want people to get sick of her face) is the newest, and now-canon version of her.



i wanted more disk space, so i unloaded my copy of da:o and now i'm stuck with the custom avatars i have, because the da:o character creator will not let me upload new ones. maybe because i had the full game version registered? i dunno.



maybe someday i'll reinstall just to upload a new avatar, but that seems like a lot of work.

Did you change facial features or just hairstyle and color? Can't really tell if they have the same face from the avatar. (I actually think I remember you posting that pic waaaay back toward the beginning of this thread, but I'm not gonna go look for it. lmao)

no need to apologize. i have flycam addiction, am very fond of my femshep, but i'm also very much not wanting to make people sick of her. that would make me sad.

the two are very similar, but have small differences that give them a different feel (At least i think so). after playing the avatar one through ME1 and 2 and doing the hacked hair project with her (made her bald and then made her hair "grow out" with gibbed), i realized that there were some things about her face that didn't work in all settings, didn't animate well, etc. i was going to leave well enough alone, but then i deleted all my save games for ME1 and decided to do one more playthrough. 





^ even ignoring the hair thing, the newer kyrie just feels more like 'kyrie', if that made any sense.



ah, kyrie. in perpetual 'hell yeah!' mode

Speaking of FemShep/Liara, I was busy watching little playthrough videos on Youtube. One was entitled: Reflections: Enhanced Version. It's towards the end of the game, obviously.

It was really well done, and the music complemented the scenes really well. Touched my heartstrings a bit.

it's just so awesome. i can't get over how cool and tough she looks - and yet how you can SEE how this scrappy kid is going to grow up to be the elegant woman in the black dress someday.

I've been playing through with backup femshep Rose, but I've just been sidetracked by a project I've dubbed "operation white rose"
You think I'd hit a point where I'd stop messing with my game, but that hasn't happened yet.  Barring some kind of computer meltdown, I'll probably keep finding stuff to experiment on.  I think I'm rambling.

I've been trying to make a blond version of Ash's hair model for femshep.  It hates me and likes to clip, but Chignon got it to work so I have hope.
Amazing how much hair changes the way a face looks.  This is the same code as Rose 1.0 who is now my guinea pig for my perfect paragon character.  The face texture is the first complexion setting in the character creator but with the 3rd setting's normal maps which are smoother.  Subtle difference, but you get the smoothness of the 3rd complexion without the freckles.



And scampermax's white recolor of Liara's armor.  It's beautimus, finally a character which looks good in white armor.  (Squee.)
Looking at this pic makes me think of swedish twins...

I did exactly the same thing with Danielle's texture, using the first complexion as the base but the 3rd's normal map and it does look very nice.



It also looks very smug, amongst other things. Oh and Rose looks very cool lest I forget to mention that most important of facts!

WAIT WHERE AM I WHAT HAPPENED. Haha, flycam always does something interesting. I attempt to exit but instead I teleport waaaaay outside of the level. Then in the middle of nowhere were two default shepards running. It kind of leaves an interesting pic. Symbolic of something?
