Now that I am a master of Photobucket (ha!), I thought I would share a couple more of my Xbox Shepards:



Name: Annelise Johanna Shepard - "Liz"
Background: Colonist, Ruthless
class: Adept

     Liz looks a lot friendlier than she really is.  She's a pretty solid Paragade... she may not shove you out of a window without advance notice, but she will seriously mess up your day if you cross her.  From her background, you can see that she has a major problem with batarians and she really doesn't care if that makes her seem racist.



Name: Katherine Amelia Shepard - "Kate"
Background: Spacer, Sole Survivor
class: Engineer

     Kate is by far the grumpiest of my Shepards.  She has never truly gotten over Akuze, since she saw her fiance Daniel die there.  Since then she's had a lot of casual sexual relationships but no close friends or boyfriends.  She liked Kaidan a lot but was just too emotionally fragile to deal with Horizon... she views that relationship as over, since closing the book on it is a lot easier than having to deal with it.
     She had a friends-with-benefits relationship with Jacob and was horrified when he was killed during their assault on the Collector Base.  This is probably going to make her even more surly and withdrawn in ME3.
     The one person she's come to count on is Joker, and I'm very much hoping that Joker will be a love interest in ME3, since I sort of unconsciously created Kate with that relationship in mind.

@Blze001: Yeah, Liz is my disarming Shepard.  People tend to let their guard down around her, which can be a very bad idea.

@Sapphy - I used a one of the custom hair meshes for her in my orginal game when I played her.  But when doing the latest play through I switched it up to the short curly style since that's the closest to what she looks like in my fic. I showed this to Sia the other day. On some other reference material I made, it's Kate before her ill timed trip out the airlock.

I think it's funny how Cam's previous incarnate Alice shares Shenzi's first cut, and Cam herself shares the short cut.

I chose the cut because I, as well as Chig, thought that I defined her features more than the long, yet still short haired cut.

Shepard's urgent message! Trouble at the Citadel?

Y'know, having gone through this second playthrough with Cam, and doing Virmire over again, and sort of lingering with the outcome...a thought struck me.



Does anyone do the quests in a particular order, story-wise? I've always gone Therum, Feros, Virmire, Noveria, because the last two worlds convey a sense of urgency. Saren's already got the visions from the beacons and after Noveria, it's time to call in to the Council because of the Mu-Relay.



Plus, in the aftermath of Virmire, I always seem to begin the romance with Liara, which makes going to Noveria a little more personal, and get the 'sister' dialouge from Ash, making Kaidan's death hit closer to home. These seem to make it a litte more like Cameron's own ME story, something that I like.

Ahnyhoo, I wanted to pop in and say, I positivley luv the Blood Dragon DLC armor. I wish i wish I wish, though, that it would remove the helmet during cut-scenes like for DAO.

Somehow looks less bulky to me than the default armor, despite being noticeably less 'femine'.  I still my modifications to slip into something more comforteable for extended RP-type sequences, like on Illium or Omega, but for the first time since getting the game I'm actually using a "real" armor appearence for my femshep rather than something lifted from a team-mate, LOL.

[shallow] I have such hair woes with Mass Effect. When I conceived my canon Shepard I wanted her to be sort of plain, so I fought the urge to go with default hair or the shoulder-length bob and gave her a slightly messy bun. It was severe, but it fit her well:



Then I played Horizon for the first time with a Shepard who was really into Kaidan and, well, it hit her much harder than it had my previous Kaidan Shep:



Shepard: I'm serious, Joker. I think I would have rather taken on five more of those flying death...things.
Zaeed: **** that, Shepard.
Shepard: **** everything, Zaeed. **** everything.

So I decided that she would respond to her hurt/anger (which was less directed at Kaidan and more directed at the trap Cerberus had her in) the old-fashioned way: by screwing around with her hair.

But here's the problem- the hairs that looks the best seem so...impractical for a Dame of Action. I had to get over that hump by testing out hair I knew would look ridiculous on her...



I laughed. Mordin was unamused

Then I switched to the hair I'd wanted her to have all along. I am ashamed to say that, despite not being particularly regulation, I like it so much better. And, as long as she has a gun that she can wave in people's faces, she'll remain badass no matter how adorable her hair might be.

@SurelyForth: I don't think the hair you choose is really against regulation. At least not the original version in ME1. It's chin length then, and it doesn't touch the collar, which fits with most regulations for female hair in current day military situations. There are no real details on what is or against regulations for things like hairstyles and cosmetics for ME1.

And hair is never shallow.

@rynluna:  Oh wow, that's neat!  Your Kathyn is so pretty.  The eyebrows look raised, which adds to the adorable mischievous look.

Liz is one of my more recent Shepards, which means I started experimenting with other facial features besides the defafult mouth and I ended up liking the wide perpetual half-smile.  It really makes for a very expressive face.

I do agree though - she looks more adorable at the end. And there's nothing wrong with beig cute and kicking ass at the same time. They'll never see her coming

And, the orange glow from Kaidan's terminal is BLINDING!







How does he deal with it?

I usually go Therum - Noveria (to get it over with) - Feros (love Feros) - Virmire.  Though right now I'm doing Therum last. For lulz. Those scenes with Liara always crack me up.


I love her derpy smiles and obnoxious armor, I swear.

@sapphyreelf I think it's the...looseness that makes me feel weird with the longer hairs. If it were mine, I'd be having to mess with it constantly.



@Valentyna Thanks! I tweaked her quite a bit to make the bun work. I have a tendency to really exaggerate features and I had to fight the urge on her (except the ears, I made them pretty prominent).



As far as ME goes, I always go Therum first, because Liara might have information on Benezia and her expertise on Protheans seems like it would come in handy. Noveria is second because it's closest to the Citadel (and we always head back to the Citadel after Therum). Feros is third and then Virmire. One of these days, I'm going to save Therum for third. Or maybe last? Is that possible?

Sorry for the blurriness.... with moving cutscenes you have to time it right to get a picture of what you want... which means taking the picture a second or two early. (At least with my camera =/)



Anyway, hope you like my little story of how recruiting garrus went. lol
