Well, I tried with Devon but you're right, wolf, it is incredibly hard.

This is not a bad attempt. I'd definitely guessed Oriental decent from this angle. Don't know with other angles though.

Here's a picture of my Shepard.

She is of Asian descent. Korean, more specifically. I decided that this was the case after some advice from a close friend. : )

Good advice from that friend. I agree with people thinking this character is "Asian" - or "Korean" - to a fuller degree, because the critical eyes are definitely also Oriental in look. Good job!

wolf99000 wrote...

Yes, the eyes of my example are not particularly Asian. She only comes across as Asian because the rest of her facial features could pass for Asian. But she should serve pretty well as a base. If you go from there and play around with those sliders, you might find an alternative like Jaelyn...

Image IPB

...or some other character resembling her. I might change the above example for a better one later.

Leaving the Oriental path, I couldn't resist making this post a bit too large (sorry) by noting the following:

SurelyForth wrote...

[...]Then I switched to the hair I'd wanted her to have all along. I am ashamed to say that, despite not
being particularly regulation, I like it so much better. And, as long as she has a gun that she can wave in people's faces, she'll remain badass no matter how adorable her hair might be.

Image IPB
[...]

Now THIS is a woman with character! She really appears strong and courageous enough for an executive officer trying to deal with the Saren threat. One of my absolute favourites so far (I have several in this fast-developping thread, but haven't had the time to comment upon them all and presto the right moment seems long gone). Cuteness alone doesn't do it for me roleplaying-wise. And hair matters for the impression. Great shot!

@FieryPhoenix7 - speaking of great shots, your middle set of pics looks epic to me. Well done!

Well, to share in a FemShep way, I have been very inspired by all the modding being done here, and wanted to do something different with a new Shepard. I ended up creating a "mashup" texmod face texture, consisting of recolored eyes and lips from Ashley, the freckled nose of Complexion 3, and the rest of the face being Complexion 1 (while using Complexion 3's normal map). The result was the creation of a new version of a character I had never imported into ME2 before, Arcadia Shepard:

Im not sure he did.   Its a painfull scene for Kaiden Romancers thats for sure.   Plus Kaiden couldn't see Noah's face there.  If he did he probably would have melted instantly!

It's painful to watch for various reasons (dialogue, animations) and I feel less and less motivated to play through ME2 because of it. At least until there is a DLC for Kaidan and Ash. Or rather if. But thank you so much, Captain. Image IPB

(Oh, and Kaidan doesn't melt - Kaidan's equivalent to melting is "Joker's waiting for you on the bridge!". Image IPB)

Hey femshep thread, first time poster here. I'm loving this thread, there's a lot of awesome Shepard's here (all of them :P).

I normally play Maleshep but I'm going to be creating a Colonist/Ruthless, Liara romancing, Engineer femshep for import. I'm looking for a unique look, if you could call it that. Probably brunette with green eyes or something. Michelle feels bad about her past and she wants to atone, but she is no pushover and will pull the trigger without a second thought. She's trying to not let her atonement attempts to interfere with her judgement though. Liara is someone who rubs off on her over the course of the game, and in a good way.

I may just need to go through more of this thread, there's a lot of gold here ^_^. Too bad I only make terribly ugly custom Shepard's, but I'm determined to make at least one attractive manshep and one femshep for my canon's. You gals (and guys) are fantastic at making awesome custom Shepard's, have any tips?

The best thing for us to do would be to stay out of it. I know Pacifien is watching it, so let's not get into a fight. They will eventually step over the line and she will come down on them.

Not that I agree with any of what they're saying but people who throw around the 'butch lesbian' thing will never accept it can be interpreted as anything else, they're just trying to troll.

I didnt mean get into a fight. Far from it. I meant defend her in a mature manner, since the people in here are all that way inclined. Or rather, add a mature defense to it....
not all discussions have to be 'fights'

I agree, but given how we're all viewed as "militant fans" who like 'butch lesbians' by some people, most of the time our reason falls on deaf ears :-/
I might try in a moment.

http://www.masseffect2faces.com/ is really fantastic for ideas. beyond that, a lot of the sheps around here are the result of many hours spent with the character creator.  if you're going for attractive, note that the ratings on ME2 faces for femsheps are often very low, no matter how beautiful the shep. apparently people seem to think that female faces are not "Shepard like" or something. they tend to get voted down if they're women.

if you're going for unique first, attractive second, i'd suggest picking a usually ignored feature you most like (face shape 8, nose A, eye 6, etc.) and make it work. best of luck.

That's a great website and it saved me a lot of headaches with the character creator.  One other thing to keep in mind when you're going through the femsheps is that it seems these days most of them have one of the custom hair meshes or other things modded so if you want to replicate the look exactly you'll have to do some modding.  For the custom hair there is a tutorial right on the site for it.

Welcome, tommy!

My advice is that you take your time when creating your FemShep, and try to be as thorough as possible. It can often take multiple attempts before you are satisfied with an individual Shepard's appearance, so you may have to be quite patient. Try to study her face from all angles in the character creator, as there may be a few odd angles within her facial features that are undetectable from certain angles.

The Character Creator is pretty bad, though. Occasionally, a Shepard will look completely different in-game to the one that you've spent a significant amount of time fine-tuning. I wish you luck!

Always, Always, Always design your character in ME2 first then convert the code into ME1 sliders afterwards. The face code system will allow you to have a running edit of the face, you can change shapes add or remove features and keep the list of the various versions of your character's face. This way you can get a face in game look at it from every angle and see how it animates, then write down what needs to be changed and make the appropriate adjustments.

Also you have to be your own worse critic you have to drive yourself harder than anyone else can, if something isn't quite the way you want it don't settle for it because it might be hard to change. Get back in the CC and find a way to fix or add what you want. If you can't be honest with yourself about your own work than nobody else will, that much I can assure you.

Welcome Tommy! :D

As for advice. I think Les and Adneate told the important things already.
Just take your time. For me it will take from 30 mins to an hour or more to get FemShep I like so don't worry if it will take time. :D
