Talking about shots...I have a problem with the screenshots. It should save in BioWare\\\\Mass Effect 2\\\\ScreenShots or BioWare\\\\Mass Effect 2\\\\BIOGame\\\\Screenshots, OK??. But it doesn't happen when I do a shot and I don't know WHY (other games save the screenshots and run correctly). I 'm tired of stopping game, return to desktop to paste the image and save every time. Any idea??

Have you tried the program called Fraps? It makes life easier on the screenshot front.

:D OK I will try it.
But, does the ScreenShot's file save automatically the shots you do or not?? It should save it, if not, what would be his function??

I swear, the screenshot function is totally busted and bogus. It only worked in ME1 when I hacked the .ini file for tiled screenshots and even then it didn't work all the time.

Seriously, fraps is worth it. I have full paid version (40 bucks, i think) and it rocks. Plus, you can use it on any game, media, etc. verry nice.

@ shenzi, loving the screenies!

I agree with Sage, fraps is so worth the cost.   I have a gaming mouse so I keep fraps screen shot mapped to one of the side mouse buttons and the necessary flycam commands mapped to my nostromo and it makes taking screen shots really easy after reading Sage's tutorials. Image IPB

OK. I have downloaded the free version. I suppose it has more limitations but it should serve what I want, I think. Thanks @sagequeen and @Shenzi for the advice :).

you *can* have fraps automatically save as a .jpeg (tis in the settings), but it causes the game to "hang" as fraps does its conversion. it's kind of annoying. picasa is nice for conversion, upload, and small tweaks to pics

Only if you pay for it.  I can see buying the full program for video capture, but just for screens the free version is adequate.  I convert to JPG or PNG in photoshop (you can do the same thing in GIMP which is free.)

I've never noticed a pause of any kind even when I'm hitting the key as fast as humanly possible, my output format has been .JPEG ever since I got the full version a while back. Though my processor is an Intel Core i7 so perhaps the problem doesn't exist for those with enough spare hardware to throw at the problem.

I personally shot everything as bmp and batch convert them to png using psp9. >2 core cpu (ME1 and ME2 use dual core cpus to max ) + fast hdd and pauses aren't probably even noticeable.

I don't know if you have already found out, but I read yesterday that December 11, during vga awards, Bioware will announce the first Mass Effect 3 trailer. Bioware don't confirm but neither deny. Will it be true??!!

and the most important, WILL THEY HAVE HEARD THE FEMSHEP COMMUNITY??

i never had that issue saving as .jpeg with fraps. as a matter of fact, if i want to go crazy with the screenshot button i have to use that extension. when i save as .png, the game doesn't 'hang', but it seems it takes a little more time between shots.

It's not Mass Effect 3 it's a multi-player shooter spin-off co-developed with Raven, so prepare for disappointment it's a BioWare staple these days.

question - i'm about to venture to the collector ship. any recommendations for second gun training? i play adept, so i'm pretty much just straight up pistols. in previous games i took the sniper rifle, but i found i never really used it much. shotty? AR? i tend to use cover and flanking to neutralize battlefield, then use biotics to throw people around and pull them out from cover.
i'm thinking shotty mebbe? seems like semi auto pistol is getting the job done for taking down shields at mid-distances, warp is my mid to long-range attack, so shotty for when i get up close with mobs?

oops, that's a little OT, so here's a toast back to kate:

Not sure if they will but Jennifer Hale was nominated for Voice Actress of the year for her role as Shepard.  I hope she wins.

@Sage I'd just take Assault Rifle training since they're pretty useful at everything.

That would be so awesome if she did win.

I HOPE they've listened to some of the issues brought up by this community, but we will wait and see.

Assault rifle all the way.  I'm currently playing adept class with the assault rifle.  It's a good all around weapon.  I'm finding I hardly ever use the pistol anymore.  The Mattock from the firepower pack is my new favorite gun out of the entire game actually; good at long range and accurate, actually feels a little overpowered.

Sniper doesn't really jive well with the adepts powers and I hate how it makes you zoom in every time you use them.
Shotgun I don't like as much as AR b/c as an adept I try to stay at medium-long range and it lacks the versatility of the AR.

edit for a pre-emptive, let's not feed the trolls, shall we?  lovely.
