Totally OT, but I just found a link to the very first computer fantasy game I ever played.  Castle Adventure

Now back to femShep ...

I just wish Liara would sob with FemShep. It was amazing when I played LOTSB with my John. Adds a lot more emotion.

Both Dragon Age and Mass Effect have some passionate female fans, and there's obviously something there to appeal to us...so why not play that up in marketing, and try to bring more female gamers in?

I think it feels like they're coming very slowly to this realization, but eventually, they'll get there.  It's just good business sense.

Actually i think Bioware has the most passionate fem fans and they know it so i dont think they are willing to loose them even if we are a minority

There's a lot more than that missing in the romance part of it for FemShep.  <_<

 [slow motion] Noooooooooo.

I don't remember the name of my first computer fantasy game, but I do remember it took like 8 hours to download on 28k modem.  Why did my parents let me do that?!  It must have cost a fortune.

Eh, I have mixed feelings about LotSB, given the bugs and missing animations in the FemShep/Liara romance scene.  I know FemShep closes her legs in a dress (one-step forward) but the romance related stuff is two-steps back, IMO.

I hope that the fight was worth it.

I hope so,  LotSB came a long way since the Kasumi DLC.   What we identified with femsheps animations actually caught the eye of many gaming websites too.  I think that embaressed Bioware more.   Its certainly a step in the right direction showing that she needs far more attention and that certain things that work for male dont work for female.

I think we won that fight, and getting a dev to reply was a great accomplishment.  Its a shame the amount of posts and people in that thread who were openly hostile just for the sake of it.

She's very pretty. Her square-ish features make her stand out.

I'm still bugged by it even though Liara's reation (or lack thereof) didn't bother me that much.  What bothers me is that the Dev said it was a bug or glitch, not an oversight.  Isn't that what a bug is?  An oversight?  Also, if there was only supposed to be one reation, why was that scene even on the disc?  The devs can say whatever they want, but it still smells like a sloppy oversight.  I'm not saying they have a hate-on for femShep, but that the game itself was rushed and since she is a minority she gets the shaft.

What ticks me the most is the fact that they are choosing NOT to fix the glaring issues with that DLC. The reasons they give are total BS. They could very well fix the issues and then replace the installer with an updated one and tell their customers to get the new installer. They choose NOT to fix the issues because they don't want to devote the time and resources needed to fix them. Thats just bad business on BioWare's part.

Wow, my best Fem Sheps pale in comparison to that in ME1.
Excellent work.

It's all in how you interpret the wording I guess.  Not an oversight in that they intended for it to happen a certain way but it doesn't.  You are right about one thing though, and that given limited time and resources, sounds like femshep willl get the less polished version, whatever their original intentions.  Especially in the light of these much vaunted "statistics."

It's not just LOTSB, actually.  If you interrogate Elias Kelham and punch him all three times, Kelham makes exclamations of pain and has animated facial expressions that play for a manShep but do not play for a femShep.  It makes the scene feel a bit -- tamer, for lack of a better description, when beating him into confessing with femShep.

Just another "bug, not oversight", I'm sure.

Probably because Sheploo's punches are more effective than Jane's.

I kid, I kid...

Liara's differing facial expressions dependant on Shepard's gender aren't anything new, by the way. This was also apparent in ME1, albeit in a more subtle way.

Hopefully, the fact that everyone has worked hard to raise awareness of this issue will result in an improvement regarding FemShep's production values, and an increased amount of development care and attention to ensure that this does not occur again.

Yeah FemShep punches like a girl.

A girl with cybernetic enhancements and wearing armor though.

I still love hearing Hale say:

"Perfectly legal? Yes it is, close the door on your way out"

It's just that Elias Kelham doesn't want FemShep to think he's a wuss.

I'm quite sure those armored gloves act like brass knuckles though.

And suddenly, I'm seeing FemShep like Wash sees Zoe in Firefly.

Zoe was flat out awesome in Firefly.

I would so make a Femshep that looked like her if there was the right hair do in the CC.
