Kate's not overly religious but she does believe in an afterlife and being a colonist she expected to see her family along with Ashley after she died.  One moment she was suffocating and floating in space and the next she was waking up on the damn lab table like all she had done was take a nap.

It caused a few issues.

Almost exactly the same thing w/Colonist Ella.  I mean, she used to write her mother letters on a semi-regular basis instead of keeping a journal.  She definitely thought she'd see her family again.  The fact that she didn't, or can't remember, is a large part of the reason she wanted to shoot Miranda at first sight.  I didn't ask you to bring me back...

In fact, she was almost relieved when she died the first time... for once someone else didn't have to die to save her, or on her orders.

Yeah... Meg's a little disturbed upon waking up, too. She's having some trouble with her identity because of it.

And hey, Jilly, your TSP link doesn't work any more.

IDK about all this SR-1 > SR-2 talk. The SR-2 was a much better vessel and wasn't a bat cave and it didn't take 20 minutes to get down to the last deck so I could talk to Ashley XD

The SR-1 felt and looked like an actual military vessel - it was dark, cramped, had that submarine feel to it and a lot of character. And no loading screens. And Kaidan. And Ash. And Adams. And Pressley.
The SR-2 is just a cold, clinical and too bright copy of the old Normandy in my opinion - a luxury liner version. With a leather finish and the Cerberus logo stamped all over it.

Sorry for being off topic. Have a FemShep:

I've been testing the waters with my renegade adept, Lilith, lately. Trying to prepare for the atrocities I will perform in her ultimate ME1 playthrough.

Measuring up the priiiiiize. Lilith feels nothing but contempt.
Image IPB

Reminiscing. Lilith can faintly recall the days of yore when she would be more of a borderline headcase than an outright psychopath.
Image IPB

Master manipulator. Lilith always prided herself with having a puppy-esque stare.

After having the character creator running most of the weekend in the background while I did other things, I finally came up with a design for a new Shepard that I liked the look that isn't a clone of my canon, Kate. After each creation I'd export the head morph and import it into specific saves to check the angles and it took me a lot of iterations to finally get to this point.

Elizabeth is a paragon adept and a lot less temperamental than Kate.

She's very pretty, Shenzi. So, tell us a bit more about Elizabeth.

I finally got around to writing a bit of backstory for her, this only includes her background through ME1 since I haven't roll played her through ME2 yet so I'm not quite sure how it will go yet.

Elizabeth "Liz" Shepard - Spacer / Warhero

The product of military parents, Liz grew up in space and followed in her parents’ footsteps, enrolling in officer training school. After completing her military education along with a rigorous physical training program designed by her parents, she entered the Alliance’s elite “N” program becoming the first female to obtain a classification of N7. At age 24 she became a symbol of Alliance leadership after organizing the local militia on Elysium to repel an attack by batarian slavers while on shore leave. Elizabeth gladly took on the role of Alliance poster child viewing it as just one more way she could contribute. However her fiancé,  jealous of the attention she received, broke off their engagement, shattering her long standing belief that she could have a military career and family life much like her parents.

She has a highly impressive service record, when the brass wants something considered to be impossible accomplished they give her the mission. She always gets the assignment completed and her team back out in one piece even if she has to bend (or break) the rules occasionally to get things done.   In person she can come across as a bit cold and aloof until you get to know her.

Over the last few years Elizabeth has continued on the trajectory established for her in early childhood, obtaining the rank of LT Commander by the age of 29. However  since her broken engagement  she has had two no- strings attached affairs with high ranking military officials, but has generally  kept everyone at a distance until a certain L2 biotic managed to sneak in past her defenses and by the time she realized what was happening it was too late for her to do anything about it....

I really like Lilith, LG. It's not often that you see a shaven-headed FemShep, and I think she pulls off the look quite well. Excellent job in creating her!

Given what Shepard has been through I think the word damaged could describe a lot of Shepards, I know Kate has gone through phases where it would apply both mentally and physically and it's something I've been exploring in my attempts at fic writing.

Edit - I know when playing ME2 it struck me as unbelieveable that Shepard could die and be ressurected and not having an issues associated with the whole process.

That's why I have 2 versions of Tess (although I intend on re-doing her... she's currently a spacer, sole survivor, and infiltrator but I think it would fit better if she was a spacer, war hero, and sentinel... anyway).

She's the only Shepard I've role-played to be actively religious, and it defined her life and gave her a code to live by.  Tess doesn't remember anything about her time spent dead.  If there was an afterlife, she certainly doesn't remember any of it.  In one version, Tess just doesn't believe that Cerberus is capable of something like resurrection and chooses to believe she was in a coma or very near death.

In the other, Tess has a crisis of faith.  She just can't reconcile her resurrection with her religious beliefs and becomes extremely disillusioned.  She goes from being an uber-Paragon in ME1 to a fairly cynical Paragade in ME2.  How do you live when you can't trust the rules you used to live by anymore?

I think I posted her yesterday, but a pic for reference:

pic snip

Kate's not overly religious but she does believe in an afterlife and being a colonist she expected to see her family along with Ashley after she died.  One moment she was suffocating and floating in space and the next she was waking up on the damn lab table like all she had done was take a nap.

I think coming back from the dead is an issue we've talked about already, but Cam's mostly affected by what Cerberus' done to her, what with the cybernetics and all: the reinforced bones, muscle and skin, her increased strength etc.

She's freaked about about the whole Cybernetics Eat Your Soul thing.

I'd imagine she'd crush a person's bones if she put enough 'umph' into enough. She'd got to watch her strength. I imagine funny little scenarios involving reunions between some of her friends:

Cam:Image IPB Tali! It's great to see you again!
Tali:Image IPB Gah! Keelah! Cam...can't breathe!
Cam:Image IPB Ooh....sorry, my bad.

And I like that the pic you have of Tess is when Samara's talking about the Code, and the sentence below is talking about 'spiritual enlightenment.' Very clever. ;D

She was designed to be the opposite of my spunky orphaned colonist vanguard who joined the Alliance because it allowed her to kill the "bad guys" and then found out that she was really good at it.  Image IPB

In other news tonight, leggywillow is on the scene and has updated us with what appears to be a Dancing Turian - I took this snippet from another article I was providing feedback on, but decided to add it to this thread for the lols. I know its off topic, and that its from another thread - but it gave me SUCH a smile.

Yay! I like the sound of Liz!

She reminds me a bit of my own Spacer/War Hero.

I'm jealous of you PCers that can post such awesome screens...

I'm gonna post a pic soon, but I gotta dig out my digicam...

EDIT:

Earthborn/Paragon/Sole Survivor/Vanguard

This is Teddy Shepard. Born to unknown parents in one of the cruel slums of Earth. She taught herself to read and write, and found out to have a knack for history, languages and is an avid fan of classicial literature, and borrowed books and did odd jobs for money in order to buy them. She disliked being a petty theif, and tired to at least be honest, and only steal what was absolutely necesscary for her survival.  After nearly getting killed by stealing some food from a couple, she was saved by a member of the Reds and joined them for survival's sake.

About three years into the gang she became disllusioned with the lifestyle and wanted a way out. She saw a recruitment poster for the Alliance around 16 was impressed with them. Two years later she ditched the ganglife, and joined the military. Earlier testing revealed biotic potential, and she cautiously underwent the operation that would allow her to control her newfound powers.

Kept her biotics a secret from most of her fellow marines. However she unleashed them on the at the disaster that was Akzue, and hated herself for being helpless in helpng her unit from the death at the hands of a Thresher Maw.

Kept under the radar until the events of ME1.  Helped Garrus and Tali, and Wrex. Spared the Queen, saved Feros, Noveria, and lost her good friend Ash at Virmire. Began a relationship with Kaidan.

Still hasn't come to terms with her death by ME2. Was happy to see Joker, Chakwas, Tali and Garrus amongst her old friends she could rely on. However, she help her new crew get their issues settled, and was beyond relieved when all of the sqaud and crew escaped the base, that she happily blew to smitherens.

Teddy is optimistic but cautious. Willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it, but she can't stand betrayal. Still believes deep in her heart that the Council will be on her side when the Reapers finally arrive.

It's a great video, but I can't take any credit for it.  I don't know who first recorded the dancing turian, but they certainly deserve a pat on the back.  That video makes me smile every time I see it.

Speaking of which, I think I met her great-great-great grandmother today.  I had a guest lecturer in one of my classes who looked a little bit like her and acted EXACTLY like I imagine her.
