I tried all the fem romances, but they all did nothing for me. They kind of all felt safe, but don't have much more to add for ME3. Sure, Thane is dying, and Garrus's father might not approve, but they all feel like the main romance isn't going to be challenged, and they're very complete. Even Kelly feels safe. I only liked doing the beginning of Jacob's, because he says things differently depending on how you treat him. He also seems to have hidden problems. However, it turns into delusional, 70's porno later on.

Either way, my fem shep rejected all of them for Liara.

That's interesting.  We all complain how femShep gets shortchanged and here, she gets to delve into the most meaningful part of her own character.  One of my nits of ME2 is that it doesn't focus enough on Shepard, male or female, it's like she is the guest star in her own game.  While it's sad that it is buried in one of the lamest romances in the game, it's good that it is there.  Shows that, all in all, BW put more thought into femShep than they are given credit for.  Still, it would be nice to see her on the box.

I tried running through it, just to check it out. Even with the nasty CougarShepard bits, there was some decent stuff buried deep beneath the horrible dialogue. For one, if you try alternating between positive and neutral responses, Jacob will actually ask femShep if she's actually got something she wants to talk about, meaning that *finally* she gets to reflect a little bit on the whole issue of dying.

The problem, of course is that the dialogue for that shouldn't have been confined a romance, but probably have been a friendship conversation with Joker, Garrus or Tali since they are the old friends.

I have to say - outside of the romance I actually like Jacob - he's a good guy, with a level view of the world, stuck in a place where he finally meets someone where he doesn't have to watch for backstabbing all the time.

But...gah, the romance writing is just such a trainwreck

I want to romance him.  I do like the character, but your right.  It's a trainwreck.  I'll probably just stay his pal.

Well, I've only committed to 2 romances. Liara's and Tali's. Both represent a part of my personality in a way.

With my Male Shep, apart of me gave up on Liara, and fell in love with someone else. That person is Tali. I romanced her because I always liked her, but fell in love with her character in ME2. I also felt like I knew her after playing 2 games with her.

With my Fem Shep, because Liara's romance was fresh in my mind (because I played ME1 again), I felt I couldn't leave her. Though I felt the same way my Male Shep did, and hated what she's became, I felt like I had to wait. I couldn't just take the safe way out, and leave her alone to go mad. In the end, it came done to, "Who's really on your mind right now?" "Who do you really care for right now?" "Is this all worth throwing away for this?"

I do consider Thane to be the best "romance wise" of the bunch, since they talk about going to a desert for a vacation, or how he'll be watching over you after death, etc. And Garrus is just fun, though his friendship line is the best, "You know what? Let just go out and blow something up together, like we always do!"

I'm doing a new ME1 play now and my Fem Shep is also falling for Liara.  She will stay faithful.  

One of my male Shepards (he was destroyed in an xbox accident) had romanced Liara and also found her change disturbing.  He had a fling with Miranda, but that was all it was.  I think if he had the chance he would have tried to make it up to Liara in ME3.  I will have to play again to see how it works out.

I flirted with Garrus, but always ended up being his pal just because I love this line.  The idea of friends who blow things up together makes me happy.

OMG!  The Pooorn Voooice...!  LOL!  I totally have to do that romance, now!    I might even have the strength to finish it.

Bonus points for him, though, for being the only male LI to actually take any clothing off on-camera.  Am I imaginining things, or did both Kaidan and Liara not get very unambiguously naked in the first game's final love scenes?   I wonder what gives with ME2's sudden attack of modesty?
