Beautiful! I had been hoping that you would post more pictures of Constance/Liara, Aislinn. I think they're a lovely couple!

I do find it quite interesting that, when creating Constance, you did not intend for her to romance Liara. I'm curious. How and why is Constance such a perfect fit for Liara? Which aspects of her personality and character provide the catalyst for the relationship?

Thank you!  Constance was originally supposed to be a Renegade, but as I progressed through ME1 she turned into something quite different.  A Paragade who smites evil-doers much like Garrus does on Omega.  When I went to Therum and saw Liara in the trap, I thought to myself "what would Constance be thinking at this moment?".  She'd be compelled to save her, at the least.  As a Sole Survivor, Constance fiercely protects the people she cares for out of fear of losing them.  Seeing Liara trapped there and helpless would have struck a cord with her.

Liara's sweet and kind nature melted my tough-as-nails Vanguard's heart.  The progression of it from there just seemed... right.  It's difficult to explain.  Constance views Liara as something beautiful and innocent.  Perhaps a part of herself she lost on Akuze.  You could say she's the eye of Constance's hurricane.

The lovely blue lady that soothes the savage Vanguard, so to speak.

Yeah... Meghan will be getting that line from Liara. Avery just got to complain about Horizon.

Also, when Liara asks Shep what she's really fighting for, Shep can mention her LI.

Yeah, well apparently Kaidan and Ashley fans are not allowed to care about their chosen LI as much as the ME2 LIs or Liara.  That one thing about LotSB really smarted.  Image IPB

Oh, believe me, I wasn't happy for Avery (And Meghan won't be saying that, anyway, it's kinda a dumb line -- something about bringing Garrus peace).  Kaidan deserved to be acknowledged.

Ugh. I honestly went into ME2 knowing that I might like another LI better, but none of them compared to Kaidan, in my eyes. And now, knowing that I'm practically being forced to choose someone else, it's a matter of principle to not get the Paramour achievement until I know what role Kaidan will have in ME3.

The response from Kaidan really ticked me off as well and wasn't something I ever expected to see in ME:2.  I tried at first to play it that my main Shep would stay loyal to him but to be true to her RP character, I pretty much gave up on that idea.  I've not a clue what will happen with ME:3 or if there will be some future DLC with Kaidan in it but either way, she won't be accept him back when he comes crawling in to apologize.

I appreciate the response, Aislinn. Thank you!

I think that's quite an interesting way of roleplaying Constance. I find it quite interesting when a more ruthless Shepard is softened up by Liara, and that she exerts an influence over their alignment and personality. I'm going to watch your Constance/Liara video again, as I will now have context whilst doing so, and can appreciate the intricacies and nuance regarding their relationship.

Again, thank you!

The Garrus line isn't bad until:

"I never thought I'd find peace in the arms of a turian, but.."

I don't like that part. They could have done better, imo.

I know, and I should clarify that I'm not asserting that the Ashley and Kaidan romances have concluded, and will not be featured in ME3. I'm saying that, in the event of Horizon being a canonical break-up, Shepard will have to "re-romance" Ashley or Kaidan in ME3, and that their respective romances differ from that of Liara in that her relationship with Shepard never ended, so to speak.

If the Ashley and Kaidan romances are deprived of reconciliation and reaffirmation in ME2 DLC, then I fear that the romance will have to be restarted in ME3, as opposed to the Liara romance which will continue on from it's development in LotSB. I really do hope that this is not the case, however. I remain hopeful that, similar to the Liara romance, Ashley and Kaidan's relationship with Shepard will span the entire trilogy.

I hadn't thought of it like that. I'd hate to see BioWare take the easy way out and not give the characters the development they deserve.

Apologise for what? Calling Shepard out on the way she acted, with whom exactly she worked with - even though that was more or less forced on us players by BioWare?

I don't ever want to see Kaidan "crawling back" to Shepard, or anyone really, just because he stood up for what he thought was right and believed in.

After reading each respective VS email, I don't think the romance is over. It's just on hold for now. I do hope that there is a VS DLC, but even if there isn't I don't think they will make Shep and Kaidan start completely from scratch. It is a bit of a puzzle as to why both Liara and Kasumi don't mention the VS survivor at all. Although I have a theory as to why Kasumi doesn't mention them. Both Kelly and Joker acknowledge Ash/Kaiden after Shepard meets them, but no one mentions Liara after the initial Ilium visit. Kasumi may have been a way to make up for that in the same way Tela Vasir mentions Akuse to the SS Shepard. Just my observation.

Right.  I don't think some people will ever be happy with him...I've heard him called a wimp or puppy dog, but when he shows strength of character, conviction, and common sense, and Shepard's only comeback is "DURR CERBERUS IS OKAY", I don't know what else he could do.

Don't get me wrong -- if someone is roleplaying and thinks that their character wouldn't stand for someone calling her a traitor, or if you simply prefer another LI, it's natural to use Horizon as a endpoint for the Kaidan romance.

But if you're talking about metagaming, looking at the story from outside, Kaidan and Ashley are completely right for their reaction to seeing Shepard.  What I personally hate about Horizon is the way it's written, and how stupid Shepard is at that moment.  And no, he doesn't owe anyone an apology for telling it like it is about Cerberus.

Here are a few others I took today of my main Shep. For the first group, I always liked the top right with the "grumpy" response.

As for the other one, I thought it rather symbolic with Alyia standing alone being that in her heart, that's pretty much the way she feels after her encounter with Kaidan.

I agree completely.  I was frustrated with the responses we were given.  I don't blame Kaidan/Ashley for their reactions at all.  I'd get pretty worked up and emotional too.  If someone you loved and thought was dead suddenly reappears.. with the enemy, how would you react?

The part that just got me was where Shep says how Kaidan knows her and that she would only be working with Cerberus if there wasn't another option. Kaidan's response just didn't appear in character. After all they went through together, you would think he would trust the women he loved to at lease consider that what she was doing was the right thing.

His response just struck me as shallow.

Yeah most people arnt, most the DA forum is people upset about the changes.

Personally they are changing everything I disliked about DA:O .  Everything thats been said I've liked so far!   I cant wait for it!! :D

As for Lady Hawke being a rival to femshep.  Well as they are both voiced comparisions will be made.   She is going to need a really good voice actor.  Since its been confirmed its not Hale, it going to be a hard role to fill.  I dont envy that Voice Actors task ahead, but I have faith that Bioware have got themselves someone really good!

Well said Teen. The writing for Horizon was abysmal and to me it always comes across as a cheesy plot device.

Hehe, just want to point out that that was Chignon's part of the quote, but I do agree with you that his response was out of character.  I believe that he and Ashley were written to be interchangeable there, with the focus being on Ashley.  Kaidan was a distant afterthought in ME2, as evidenced by the Phoenix armor at the beginning and him using an assault rifle instead of a pistol and/or biotics when the Collector swarms appear on Horizon.

That doesn't mean he's not right about how wrong it is to work with Cerberus.  As I've said elsewhere, TIM is directly responsible for all the human deaths on Horizon...he tipped the Collectors off about the Virmire Survivor's location, and caused the attack....and of course, he also lied when he said he didn't know anything about the VS's location, just like he lied about Liara working for the Shadow Broker.  And maybe someone might fool themselves into thinking that they're working *with* TIM, and not for him, but why did Joker stop everything and FORCE you to go talk to him?  Shepard is not in charge, and TIM is lying every step of the way.

As a player, we go along with this, in order to advance the game, but storywise, it's extremely frustrating.  Both Shepard and Kaidan/Ashley are hamstrung by the railroading, and so you have to make up excuses in your head, no matter what your stance is on Horizon and Cerberus in general.
