And since we need a femshep at the top of the thread adding in these pics of Liz.  I Just finished Horizon with her and she's not a happy atm.

And yes, she will be blowing up the base and telling time to f**k off as well.

I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with that. For the vast majority of people that exclusively play FemShep, it is inconceivable that the character of Commander Shepard would be anything but a woman, and it can feel quite bizarre and odd to think of Shepard as a man. People seem to think that FemShep players are bashing DudeShep when they state their preference for her, which is untrue. Supporting one does not automatically mean that you are disdainful toward the other, which is a mistake that people often make.

Also, I find it quite hypocritical that many people on this website are able to use male pronouns when referring to Shepard, without receiving any complaints from other members. Yet, we're supposedly not allowed to state that we believe that Commander Shepard is a woman without being told that it's wrong? I feel that double standards are at play here.

I use 'she' always when referring to Shepard (all my Shepard's are). I feel the same way you do, Sable, on that matter.

I try not to attach a specific gender to shepard when talking about him/her.

Mainly because I have a 50/50 divide between fem and male sheps.

I completely agree, to me Shepard is a woman and I'll always refer to her as such.

Indeed. My own personal Commander Shepard is a woman, so why should I be told that it is wrong to believe that the character is female? I'm going to use female pronouns when referring to her, and if people are offended when I do so, it's their problem.

Coming into the conversation a bit late, but I feel that I know what's going on. I agree with these above statements. It's MY character, my Shepard, and if I make her a woman, then how am I offending ANYONE? It's my own personal choice to do this, and if you don't like it when I refer to Shepard as a 'she'? Meh, I don't care. You've your opinion on Shepard, and I've mine and if you want to make him a man? Go right ahead!  

But being offended over it? People are weird sometimes.

I have a friend who plays as DudeShep. I play exclusively as FemShep. When talking about ME, we refer to each accordingly. Neither of us get offended by this. I admit it is weird for me to here Shepard referred to as 'he.' It's not that I have anything against DudeShep, it's just that to me, Shepard is a woman. I don't see how this belief could ever be considered as elitist, however.

That's why, out of respect,  in other threads I use "(s)he", "her/him"  and such.
Of course, in here, I can say just "she".
