oh, i do so adore garrus. his character is great, his looks are just awesome, he's just the best squaddie ever, and the fact he's just always THERE for you is his best recommendation. ME2 took him from a good character and made him epic.

sadly, as aislinn mentioned, it's hard not to take one's own preferences into account when playing the game. much as i like garrus, i find kaidan's understated, mature, nice guy persona way to appealing to pass it up.

i always feel a little bad for garrus though.

And then I'm reminded of the chapter in Valhalla, in which Garrus hints at his feelings towards Kyrie and it tugged at my heartstrings oh so much. I felt bad for the guy, more so that usual. I'm so glad he gets his share of Cam hugs and Cam encouragement in my work in progress fic.

My Paragon and Garrus get along famously, it's just a different dynamic. She never saw him as a sibling >

Indeed, at least it is less blatant though. Goes to show fanservice is not always the better option. Miranda looks better in Liara's getup than her own.

Joining the bandwagon that seems Paragon Shep as becoming Garrus's mentor.



To me, he's always had a strong, "Drinking Buddy" vibe to the character. And at the beginning of ME2, he's definitely the only person who Shepard can trust in a fight. Joker's got New Toy Syndrome, and Dr. Chakwas is stuck in sick bay.

you're the one playing the game and there's no objectivity here. you play the game the way it pleases you. that's the fun part.

Agreed. I just like to get into the roleplaying aspect of my Sheps. So, I put myself in that mindset. I also think it's fun to explore different romances. I feel like I'm missing out if I don't.

I always have the best intentions when starting up a new game of ME or DAO to romance someone different or not at all,  but my Shep's always wind up with Kaidan and my wardens with Alistair .   The only way I managed a "romance free" game to import into ME3 was to play a non imported game.

I like to diversify. I have a Shep for Garrus, one for Liara, one for Kaidan, and one for Thane. My Thane Shep was a Jacob one to start out with, but he got dumped. Though Shepard dumping Jacob? TOTALLY tactless. Cleaning house? Really? REALLY? Sheesh!

@Shenzi- I always end up with Alistair, not just because I like him but I don't really like the other options. In ME 1/2 I find it easier to not romance the same person all the time because I all the LI options for femShep (mostly).

i've found that kyrie really did go WAY more renegade this go round than before, but that's still looking to end with full paragon points and maybe 25% renegade? maybe? dang. i just can't seem to get renegade points, lol. i don't have it in me. this is what i mean about the role playing thing. i can justify some of the hard decisions (bringing down the sky), but others i feel like there has to be a better way. punching elias kelam was like, physically painful. i just kept thinking, 'isn't there some other way around this? no? okay, think of the greater good being done here... " *punch*

i did convince the asari to break up with her krogan boyfriend on illium. i actually went back a whole mission to re-do that. figure if she needs a stranger to convince her, then she's making a millenial mistake.

I would not worry. While it would happen if pages went by where we discussed everything except Femshep, a few posts will not amount to anything. That said, mods would make a "okay guys, lets get back on topic please" before anything drastic happened.

But for compromising sake, back to Femshep. I want to finish my current Femshep run since I have a whole story for another one and I intend to write up the backstory. Colonist and Ruthless flow so well together to establish my biotic *****. Still having difficulty with the possibility of gacking Wrex though, xD. My Femsheps always love him.

Yes, this.  I never thought I would find Geico and Bud Light commercials sexy, but damn, I love Brandon Keener.

As for Garrus, I adore him.  Perhaps this makes me a horrible human-centric racist, but if he was only human, probably a lot more of my Sheps would romance him.  The species barrier between human and velociraptor dude would be a pretty big one to cross.

Plus I feel so bad when you find her on Tuchanka later on.  She does NOT sound happy to be there.

I think most of my FemSheps would just prefer a night in.  When your average day consists of massive amounts of death and property damage, renting a vid and eating junk food curled up with your lover is probably the perfect evening.
