My Shepards never wear their helmets, unless it's absolutely necessary. I must be somewhat shallow and vain, as I prefer to have their face and head clearly visible. XD

I agree, I worked too hard on those faces to hide them!

My little brother always has his ManShep wear a full helmet, and I laugh myself silly watching him play because I keep imagining his voice muffled by the helmet:

NPC: Oh Shepard, thank goodness!  We need your help!
Shepard:  ::muffled response:: Mmphfhfhfmfh.
NPC: W-what?  What did you you say?
Shepard:  ::obviously shouting but still inaudible:: MMMPHMMPHMMPH!!
NPC:  Just nevermind.

Shepard: I CAN'T BREATHE IN THIS THING!!!
(Never use the Dark Helmet DLC armor pack, I guess.)

That's what mass effect fields truly are, you know.  The power of the Schwartz!

I finished MacKenzie's outfit.  Since she's Earthborn like Moira, I decided to give her the same base clothes.  I gave her a green sweater and changed the cami to dark green.  I also made the belt brown.  Wanted to make it a bit more earthy and comfortable than Moira's version.

Is it possible to get the Jack DLC outfit for Femshep ingame? Saw it on the artwork in the OP and it looks totally awesome.

Aislinn, any chance we may be able to talk you into releasing your work into a MEmod?  I assume you're using Texmod to apply this, correct?

EDIT:
Anyway, speaking of tomboyish Sheps... I think my newest FemShep MacKenzie is really fitting into this role nicely. Since I started my play through, I was having a hard time getting a feel for her personality.  Now, I realized she's heavily underestimated by the enemy.  Little do they know behind that adorable, freckled face is a fierce and scrappy Earthborn soldier.

"D'awwwwww!  Wait a second... she's pulling out a grenade launcher!  RUN!"

Always wise when the infantry-portable ordnance comes out.

Actually, Scientific American had an article a while back on why Batman could be real, but not for long.  So if Batman could exist, why not Commander Shepard?  Aside from the space guns, mass effct fields, magic space rocks and alien side kicks that is.  =]

Anyway, getting back to femShep, isn't she supposed to be stronger, faster, better than she was in ME1?  If so, femshep is actually better than dudeshep because during the Kasumi mission she is doing everything he is doing, but in high heels.  ;)

Funny how u bring that up.  I just did my Miranda loyalty quest, and noticed the boots she wears - and all I could think was how impossible that would be.

I just started my first femshep playthrough a few days ago, and so far Hale's voice is pretty good. But one thing really bugs me about some of her voice acting. When she starts talking about the collectors, or try's to display authoritativeness, she puts on this really butch, over dramatic, male like voice. Now this really bugs me. I love her VA'ing when she's talking to the crew one on one, or in a romance scene though, it's great. Just those times when she talks about serious business, she goes way too over the top. Does anyone else agree even in the slightest? I know you guys adore Hale, but do you agree that she puts on this unnecessarily butch and over dramatic voice when business turns serious?

Not intending any kind of VA war, just something i noticed and wondered if it bugged anyone else.

Well for guys, we have that inevitably fun "that is gay man!" stigma to deal with. You know, you must be stereotypically manly or boo on you. I would rather be flamboyant and not concern myself with negative opinions. I received numerous compliments myself for playing female roles, which I am always extremely appreciative of. That is my take on why some people have hang ups.

You always could ask them if they really like staring at the butt of their male characters.

After all, homosexuality's sole criteria is attraction to the same sex. Everything else is nonsense.

I tended to play male Revans and Exiles in the KOTOR games, myself. Just a preference. In this, so far I've played one male Shep and one female Shep. I tend to like Hale's voice better than Meers, though I think Meer is pretty good. Oddly enough, I haven't played a Sheploo game.

...at risk of being called a dirty old man, I do have to ask if one cannot appreciate a strong female character and also appreciate how she looks? One can multitask, after all... *evil grin*

(Though I would guess posting that Chuck Avery clip probably gave me away on that part....) :)

This thread always seems to pick up the moment I go to sleep!

Anyway, the question about bonus powers for Soilders.

I used Stasis for my canon run through with Hrist. I didn't think much to the skill when I first got LotSB, but it's now my favourite bonus power. The fact it locks down pretty much any target, and then causes them to fall over when it wears off make it incedibly useful. The damage bonus is nice as well, though it is bugged, (on the PC at least) causing even the toughest enemies to take ridiculous damage. Of course me firing up adrenaline rush as it wears off doesn't help, but hey Bioware are aware of the issue, if they don't want to fix it I'm not gonna complain.

I don't usually like to use biotic powers with a non biotic character, but when I created Hrist in ME1 the only bonus powers I had unlocked were biotic skills. So I gave her throw, put 1 point in it and came up with a back story to explain why she had it.

I decided she was exposed to a small dose of eezo when she was exploring an old, abandoned refinery/factory back on earth when she was young. This allowed her to produce a very weak mass effect field and she learnt to control it without the use of any implants as she grew up. When she woke up after project lazarus she found her biotic powers were more powerful than before and she could produce a stasis field.

I recognize you from the maleShep thread. Welcome aboard. B)

As for the "butch and over dramatic voice"; is that why some people have an issue with femShep's renegade lines? I don't think she sounds butch. I'm more inclined to think that Hale performed a good balance between feminized and tough. Her lines certainly do have have more emotional flavor to them which I think is necessary when trying to connect with the main character. But I imagine fans of Meer's voice see differently.

Well, it depends on what is manly to you. To me that includes chest and facial hair growing untrimmed, anyone who removes his chest hair is not a manly man IMO and would not be qualified to use "that is gay man!" on me (nor should anyone for any reason, for that matter).

Warp Ammmo doesn't affect shields. Check out this great thread in the strat forum: Ammo Powers: the right tool for each enemy

Soldiers and Slam...
Like Aislinn said, it has a very short CD, as opposed to Concussive Shot (twice as much and after biotic cooldowns research, more than that). It also sets up warp bombs, is insta-cast, insta-kill for unarmored husks...

@Aislinn
I also agree with you about powers that classes aren't supposed to have, specifically biotics. You are borned a biotic. But tech skills ? I'm not sure how that works, but it seems like, with the right hardware and training, you might use them. For instance, I have no problem with a soldier with 1 point in Neural Shock. Although I admit, an Adept using Energy Drain is a bit strange... um...

Natalia is lovely!

Also, thanks for sharing about the ammo powers.  Mostly I use inferno ammo on my soldier - it gets most jobs done, especially when using Adrenaline Rush.

It's his personality. No, really it is.

Okay, the hawtness doesn't hurt.

Truly, I will DANCE when there is either A) a video game that in no way portrays it's female characters in an overly sexual manner (BW comes close, but they did win "King of the SideBoob" in some poll, so there you go - plus wtf with miri and jack's clothes? i mean, ash and liara were sexy and classy, but much as i love miri, her outfit is ridiculous. kasumi's is also sexy, but not silly)

or B) we get equal time with the men LIs looking hawt. as in, a shot intended just to show off their pecs or butt or whatever. i'm not holding my breath. but truly, if we were going for equal opportunity oggling, that is what should happen. and the fact that so many people would find it weird and off-putting for the male LIs would just go to show how silly and off-putting it can be for the female.

but i digress.

Really?  How the...?? I think it has to do with the page on the forums that pic was posted on. Someone must have been discussing sheploo when i posted that? or... no clue. how bizarre.

Well, at least femshep smile doesn't make people want to run and hide. unless it's renegade femshep smile. but you know what i mean. sheploo smile just makes me die inside.

^ good example of devious femshep smile. and i guess that is 1 case of a gratuitous shot of male flesh. only you have to wade through a lot of bad dialog to get it. hhmmm... anyhow...
