Since the topic is basicly ME3, after the Reapers gone, what would your FemShep(s) do?

I happen to like Big Ben. That said, it would've been interesting to see them use a woman. I dunno; it'd have been neat, but if they were using him for what a lot of people seem to think (just some random guy on Earth, showing what's going on, with no significance whatsoever), using a woman wouldn't have ended well. As then even more people would be clambering to have her on their squad, only to be disappointed. This way, he's just "some guy," not some awesome, badass female sniper who's awesome and badass. Which is extremely hypocritical and slightly sexist, imo, but hey.

I meant more in a promotional kind of way.  That trailer has been seen by hundreds of thousands of people by now and an opportunity was missed in finally showcasing a woman.  It would have been a great nod to us FemShep fans.

Yeah, I understand and agree that it would've been a great opportunity to use a female, but I imagine everyone and their mother would be crying out for her to be on their squad/a potential LI if that happened. Even more so than they're doing with Big Ben. Plus, I'm sure we'll get a few new, brilliant female characters for ME3. BioWare has a penchant for great, strong females.

Angela sorta sounds like Brianna. Once imported into ME2 she will confront the one she likes. Then if all goes right, visit her friends homeworlds (she's always wanted to see other worlds, since she has been stuck on space stations all her life)

@Ash

All Sheps deserve sleep! And Jane would agree with everything you said!

I agree there was an opportunity in the promo. Maybe in future ones. The data they released said only 18% of players played femshep (only). There is serious market opportunity. If you were to showcase the female PC and female players, that 18% might increase.

Felt a sudden inspiration the other day, and sat down to embark upon my "definitive" playthrough with my original Shep, Audrey.
No, not because of the ME3 trailer. I find myself oddly detached from that whole schpiel.

Anyway, back in action!

Darnit, Pressley. I'd forgotten how bald you were.

Do I look srs and attentive naow?

Lost your squad? That takes me back...

Yeah, I got back. And Kaidan got lousy posture.

...and now he's gon breakin' somethin'. Darnit!

As for female characters in marketing, I remember Priestly saying that they were always "pushing" for that, but then went on to explain how it isn't realistic that a game with a predominantly female cast or, indeed, a female protagonist would prove popular enough to draw in a male audience.
Which, as we all know, is rubbish.

Thanks. I made her single on purpose (although he does let Kelly come up to the cabin every once in a while) and it was depressing to see the friendly ending to LoTSB cuz Shep is so down when Liara leaves. Although it'd be difficult I'd ahve loved it if LoTSB was constantly updated through the internet since it's an information Center. and Ali Hill's had some extra dialogue recorded for the updates.Image IPB

I'm going to be that negative woman now and say, that unfortunately since EA wants to target their games to the average male player, a female sniper (as awesome as it would be) just wouldn't make people as excited.

I guess they just see us female players as a bonus, because we buy the game anyway. It really, really sucks. Fem Shep deserves more attention, because I'm honestly getting a bit tired of Sheploo

They should've at least mentioned Ash and Kaidan.

Bah, the Virmire Survivor! BioWare has dismissed these claims!

Adneate, if you were going to slag him off (even in good humor), you might've at least done it with a base of your own making. I made those for people who would actually like having him around.

Made this for my femShep who's going through both games without an LI.

Y'know the saying 'save the best for last?'

I expect something along the lines of epic for the VS. If not.....seriously Bioware? Seriously? Way to leave the Kaidan-mancers hanging.

BUT I AM THE ETERNAL OPTIMIST. So I'm rooting for you ladies who want some CLOSURE in your Kaidan romance. You deserve some time with Kaidan and it'd be great for Cam to see Ash again, and then get all snarky.

Ah....good times.....

guuuh the sexism in the gaming industry makes me want to hit things sometimes
"No no, it's not us! We totally would have put femshep in the trailer but it's the audience man, we cant do anything about the audience being sexist"
what a load, it's as bad as Priestly's response about female aliens 'oh how do you know they're not there a dur hur hur it is you who are overlooking alien gender' yeah Priestly if you had the guts to have female aliens that didn't look like blue skinned space babes I would be impressed, but that doesn't work when you never refer to an alien on screen as female so no, you can't have it both ways.

Personally, I fail to see how being female automatically makes a character more compelling. We would still know next to nothing about random-sniper if they had a vagina.  It would have been a good trailer either way, in my opinion.  Sometimes a trailer is just a trailer.
And a tolls a toll.  And if we don't get no tolls, we don't get no rolls...whatever.

Ashley was in the ME2 trailer.  A woman and a soldier...with a big gun might I add.
Jack and Miranda both had their own trailers before ME2 came out.  Call it male fanservice if you want, but that discounts the fact they were both interesting well written characters.

Bioware has always had strong and interesting female characters in their games.   That's good enough for me.

You're very welcome, ELE. :) I agree with you; I don't see how adding a female character to a trailer with the same exact dialogue and action would make her any more interesting. She'd still be a no-name soldier. The fact that Big Ben's a guy doesn't make the fact that he's been holed up for days (by the looks of the medigel), picking off people on the ground, while a Reaper fleet rolls into London.

Also, I love your Men in Tights reference. Made my day. :D
