So I've been toying with the idea of writing up a complete psych profile for my Shepard, from the perspective of a therapist who saw her shortly after she escaped Mindoir, complete with excerpts from sessions; I'm a psychotherapist by trade, so the idea of exploring my Shepard from that angle is really intriguing to me.

My question to all of you, then, is how does your FemShep cope with stressful and/or traumatic events?

She keeps it buried. My Shep has never been the kind of person who have an easy time talking about her emotions, and growing up on Earth she learnt how to rely on herself, so she doesn't keeps her emotions to herself and deals with whatever is thrown at her by not thinking about it and just do it. Granted that attitude changed a bit after she woke up at Lazarus Station and realised what had happened. But that was generally how she was after Akuze.

Edit: Read the transcript and this made me lol big time

Awesome! I shall read that a little later on tonight.

Also, in retrospect, I regret not implying that Liara was my Shepard's Christmas gift. :pinched:

Sorry.  :P

@Yuki: Shepard looks mighty smug in that picture.  Maybe it's because she has Garrus at her back?:?

I hope you do that, would love to read it.  UJ has the Colonist/Sole Survivor background and in my head-canon she learned to utilize her anger as another weapon without getting stupid.  She also quilts as it is a very relaxing, Zen-like hobby.  Still, I sort of see her as a ticking time bomb.

BUT, some of Keener's lines do come off as flirty, even if he says the exact same thing to MaleShep.  (I had to get you moving.  Some women find scars attractive. Most of those women are krogan.  The entire reach and flexibility convo until Shep makes her move.)

Actually, Garrus has a different line for manShep upon walking into the comm room after his surgery.  "Besides, I was always the one getting hit on, I had to finally give you a chance," or something similar.  It's actually funnier than the line for femShep.  The delivery is also markedly different; with manShep, it's his normal, joking tone; with femShep, it's that quiet, throaty growl that starts off almost too low to hear.  The kind that makes your toes curl a bit.   Yeah, he's flirting hard with her at that point.

I'm going to have to throw in with the crowd that thinks the romantic undercurrent is there, but Garrus would never acknowledge it out loud unless Shepard did first.  I do agree it wasn't there in ME1, though.  The torch probably lit during Garrus' recruitment mission.  I mean, look at it from his perspective; you're trapped, hungry, thirsty, exhausted, have just lost all your closest friends from the past two years, and don't really care that you're going to die soon.  Then all of a sudden, your former Commander who is dead appears like an angel with guns blazing and saves your ass.  There was probably a shaft of sunlight and a divine chorus heralding her arrival as she made her way across that bridge.  In my mind, that's the point where Garrus falls for her, even if he doesn't realize it himself yet.

His line for a male Shep is priceless.

And yeah, I agree on both parts. I don't think it was really present in ME1 as much as set-up for the potential, which is there in ME2 whether or not you choose to pursue it (which my canon Shepard does :D)

Oh, I agree there's something there. (And I know there's a different line for maleShep just as I know that the dialogue on his recruitment mission does not sound as flirty as with FemShep)  I just do not agree that it's acknowledged consciously on his part until Shep brings it up in the reach and flexibilty conversation.  Which allows me to have two Sheps with two different relationships with him.

If she doesn't bring it up, he never looks at his own feelings and it stays buried.

Lili hangs out with friends, goes to Omega or just locks herself in her cabin. She also goes and does missions, shooting things always make her feel better. Image IPB She tries to distract herself, when possible. When it's not then she vents to somebody who can 1.) keep it a secret and 2.) will listen and 3.) will understand her
Okay, so she vents to her LI alot, so what. He understands.

Here is another quick shot I took the other night of my main character, Rayne Shepard. I just like the detail of her eyes on this one and the expression of deep concern.

Coincidently, I am doing something similar albeit more of in-depth narrative of events initiating from Mindoir to Mass Effect instead of focusing solely upon Alexis. To answer your query, at least in a non overly detailed manner. More often than not she does not deal with things and relieves the overwhelming stress upon enemies, hence a less than commentary title. Otherwise she keeps to herself, yet occasionally ventures to talk with her crew just to feel a sense of companionship. She masquerades this well with the sole exception of true solace being confiding in her LI (Liara).

Garrus is getting the brunt of the abuse today. Why he feels the need to stand in front of Shepard when she's vaulting is a mystery, he should know I'm just going to pause and post a pic him getting accidentally smacked with a rifle on the internet xD

I think there's something there, though I'm not clear that Garrus himself even knows what it is. In my head-canon, he's Shep's best friend and she does suspect there that is something other than mutual respect going on behind his eyes. And in her own way, she loves him too.
