Poor Kaidan!

But I love your Shepard, Fire - you've put a lot of work into creating her and she looks fantastic.

My question to all of you, then, is how does your FemShep cope with stressful and/or traumatic events?

as colonist
: I guess some kids are just lucky or the perspective of joining Alliance and getting some kind of revenge shut down the guilt and Marge focused on her life as a soldier. And as every other Shepard, she was damn good as one.

as survivor
: This is where the Mindoir surfaced amongst other things. But I imagine future psychology and medicine work slighthy better than today and any kind of therapy Shepard recieved was enough to keep her going. What I observed in ME1, Shepard used the "It's not your fault. You couldn't do anything about xxx" line in that form or another few times and was really convincing. When Kaidan told her the same about Jenkins, I accepted there are just people like her, and she will be strong no matter what.
Then again, as the game progressed, I imagined she's realizing that Eden Prime changed something, broke even. That her decisions are somehow wrong, even if justified. That she dropped her guard down and involved Alenko in some kind of a mess she was trying to avoid. That she lost Ashley because of it. Then the world was ending, so why the hell not share some of this burden with someone.

current Shepard: work, work, work... Oh, Ilos... Work your ass off.

So, nothing special. She's just good at lying to herself.

Gianna: "Sorry, Spectre. I can't give you a pass. But... huh. Well, he's kinda cute..."
Gwynn: "I'm 'kinda cute.' Look. Here. Look at this face. Can I have a pass now?"

Gianna: "Scooch, Shepard." *nudges aside*
Gwynn: "Heeeey! Back off, sister. He's spoken for!"

Love the new vid, Aislinn.

Just popping in to say hi. I've needed a bit of a break from BSN of late, but I do peruse from time to time still.

No new shots of my Alexis Shepard, but here's my favorite still.

Thanks, Chignon. Lex is very serious most of the time, especially throughout ME2. Not a lot of fun and laughter for her there.

Understandable. Image IPB

Hopefully she'll have more reason for fun and laughter in ME3.

Since I'm a big Honorverse fan, probably something like:

(Hamish Alexander meets Honor Harrington in person for the first time.)
She'd been calm then, too, when she'd come aboard to report her damages
and casualties with an indifference which had repelled him. She hadn't
even seemed to care, as if people were simply part of a ship's fittings,
only weapons to be expended and forgotten.
Her emotionless detachment had appalled him . . . but then the report
came in that Commander McKeon had somehow gotten almost a hundred of his
crew away in his single surviving pinnace, and the mask had slipped.
He'd seen her turn away, trying to hide the tears in her good eye, the
way her shoulders shook, and he'd stepped between her and his staff to
block their view and guard her secret as he realized this one was
special. That her armor of detachment was so thick because the pain and
grief behind it were so terrible.

(Hm. Hope a Spacer Femshep's mom isn't like Allison Chou Harrington. "That Kaidan guy has a nice ass. Bet you have fun chasing him around." "Mother!" - Ahem, I'll stop scrolling through Baen Webscriptions for quotes.)

(I guess I'll have to go look up scenes with Michelle "Mike" Henke for
future FemShep references. Later. When I have another Femshep.)

I <3 Honor.  I wish I could make a FemShep that looks like I imagine her.  (Which is never the overly feminine face they have on the cover.  The closest one is the cover for the novel where she duels that slimebucket.)

The current one or the infamous "Michael Jackson" cover when Field of Dishonor first came out?

The original cover of Field of Dishonor had Harrington holding a smoking gun up like she'd just fired it. She had Asian eyes and a squared jaw but wore more makeup than the character is actually supposed to wear. Now that I've mastered how to square off a jaw in the CC, I might try again.

I may have the book title wrong, I'll have to check when I get home.

Field of Dishonor
is where she gets in a duel on Manticore. You meant the slimebucket Young, right?

(Lots of slimebuckets in the Honorverse, and Honor, Theisman, Zilwicki, Terekhov, Cachat, Foraker and Tourville can only do so much...)

"Oops."

Yeah, him.  Couldn't think of his name at the moment.  And my googlefu is failing me.  My paperback is apparently so old, the original cover art can't be found online any more.

I found it.  Hope this link works.

http://harrington.su...l-field1ok.html

ETA:  Won't let me link it direct.  Third row in the middle.  I see what you mean by Michael Jackson, though.  I think it's the nose.  I'd actually squash that face and the one on War of Honor together for a Shep.

I turned *cou-23-gh* when that first book (On Basilisk Station) came out.

Starting to reread it between calls via Webscription's Free Library section. Still pretty good.

*rummages around to find another FemShep photo to pretend I'm trying to stay on topic*

Aww! Well im 27 now and looking back Ive wondered where the hell time has gone. Id say Maeva Shepard keeps it all locked away, sometimes drinkiing to numb pain but eventually it comes back to bite her. Got worse when TIMMEH mucked crap up but seeing old buddies again helped. She has similar beserk buttons that Honor has, esp when it involves family or close friends.

Avery is more like Honor than Meghan is. I based Meghan more on Starbuck and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Avery got Honor Harrington and Col. Samantha Carter.

Seriously cute!

Edit:

I decided to start a NG+ with Mara the Infiltrator and change a few things, just for the heck of it. Here's Myra. Engineer, Earthborn, War Hero(Paragon):

I've done the same with Jeena the Sentinel, though this time for the purpose of a romance with Garrus(in a previous playthrough it was Thane - Jeena had no ME1 romance).
