femShep question time. So, how did Cerberus exactly figure out the quickest way to bring Shep back was through bio-synthetic fusion? What if, ala Jack, they killed, maimed and tortured dozens, if not hundreds of people to get to that point? How would that make your Shep feel? Would that change the relationship between your Shep and Miranda as she was the project director?

Considering what Miranda thinks of both Teltin and also of the Reaper creation, I doubt they would have gone to that lengths on that project pre-Shep insertion. I know there is the whole 'control chip' thing to consider, but I personally wonder if that is more of her thinking that Shep might not be all there and thus something to control Shep in case Shep goes beserk was needed. Whilst TIM had faith that Shep wouldn't go crazy.

One idea that just popped into my head is that maybe it is something similar to how she was created, well maybe not created but made the way she is.
Edit:
Top of page pic... first one I took of Eiko after she woke up from the Lazarus Project (yay keeping it on-topic I guess :D she seems to have a if looks could kill look in her eye here :P

I like her, Ulrich. I made an Asian looking Shepard yesterday too, but she looks demented while yours looks nicer xD

As for Miranda... If my Shepard found out she'd probably be very angry. She would become distant from her, even though she understands Miranda's methods. To be honest I don't think Miranda would necessarily go to those lengths, though and it wouldn't be just Miranda's fault. Adele's a colonist/sole survivor, so she's pretty much swimming in survivor's guilt every single day. That other people were used as guinea pigs to revive her would just add to that. It wouldn't be good for her in the least :(

Good question!

Based on their current track record, It is fairly obvious to Madeline that a much greater price was paid for her resurrection than the mear 2 billions credits invested.  If she knew exactly the true "cost" of her rebirth, I'm sure she would feel both heart sick (adding to her "survivors guilt" over her own mother's death and sacrifice so that she might live) and furious over it.....but not solely at Miranda however.

Wow! @ Ulrich and Yuki, those are awesome looking Femsheps. I am especially delighted by Ulrich's eye shape and brow combination, I'll have to try that.

I don't think she looks demented, yuki. She does look friendly. And very girl-next-door-ish. I like her.

Hi Sage!  Glad you stopped by, even if it was just to say "Hi" amid the holiday madness!  Hope to see you and Kyrie around more once the holidays are done with.

Gotta love that pose!  I have one like this of Maddy.....but she appears much less amused:

@Sir Ulrich: I love Eiko. I cannot get an asian Shepard I like, either male or female. I suppose I should cruise the database and tweak one. Why did I never think of that? *snorts*

RE: Frankenstein Complex...

Ella was disturbed enough at simply being brought back at all. Finding out more people died for her, in probably horrible mad-scientist-y ways? Would probably completely break her. Miranda would go down. Ella would burn herself out trying to take out Cerberus single-handed without much of a plan. Berserk-blaze-of-glory kind of thing. It would be bad. And messy. And highly fatal.

@Jillyfae: Try face structure #4, if you haven't. I made a really successful (in my opinion) Asian-descent Femshep with it :)

Haha, well, she's kind of demented personality-wise. She also loves blowing things up by running into them at very high speeds. I can only imagine TIM crying over his 4 billion credit investment since she often gets exploded along with them...

I took a break from the FemShep Battle FF, and wrote this:

Athena Shepard right before she leaves Earth. At a bar no less. Enjoy and comment please. I'd like to know if anybody gets a little joke I put in their with the names.

@yuki
that's not demented. Most Sheps like to blow s**t up. Lili and Athena do, that's for sure....

DO IT.  It is exciting, and I actually like it in both games.  Ridiculously powerful in ME1 with the ability to reset biotic cooldowns, access to shotguns and pistols, insane-o barrier!  ME2 is of course even more fun for VG.  I tend to play passively, but am doing a really aggressive Vanguard run right now, and have never had more fun in ME2, though I anticipate that shotgun Engineer might take the cake.  Hahahaha.  But yeah, if you do try it, abandon all inhibition and charge into everything aggressively.  *Best at advice*

Just don't do that IRL.

My shep would probably want to snap Miranda's neck for that...and is gonna be guilt ridden big time. But she won't kill Miranda simply because she doesn't like to kill unless it's necessary.

I'm thinking she'd try to do something for those tortured souls...? not sure

I never understood why we couldn't just pick the Mako up from Alchera. It appears relatively undamaged and it certainly beats the Hammerhead.

Sounds like fun. I've noticed that I started to play a bit more aggressively - so maybe it's time for to design a new FemShep who'll be a Vanguard.

I can't take any credit for the eye shape, that was from one of the ones I swiped some of the code from. I basically went looking for a couple of asian codes I liked the look of and decided to try mixing them up. It's almost a 50/50 split between 2 codes with only 2 parts tweaked for personal preference (the hair and eyebrows).

The original codes were...

751.17Q.HE7.F5H.NI1.D4G.1KO.711.WE6.117.4E7.435

and

153.116.WA1.931.GJF.9BW.1RI.211.AGB.917.632.176

blended together with 2 digits tweaked becomes

751.17Q.HE7.F31.GJF.9BW.1RI.711.WE6.917.527.435

It's kind of funny because the eyes were the main reason I'd gone looking for the codes because I had tried doing an asian beforehand but never really could get the eyes to look right so am really happy with this combination I've made. I think both the original codes are nice on their own, I just wanted to make something that wasn't a complete copy of one of them.

Edit: Forgot to mention, Yuki I agree with the others that I don't think your asian Shep looks demented at all. On another note, I love them Vanguard piccies, Vanguard really is fun to play, I've only just got round to being more confident enough to try doing some of the crazy aggressive styles of VG play that I've seen other players use. On my original playthrough of my FemShep VG I was way more cautious with my usage of Charge than what I am now.

I did that with Trinket, Ulrich! It is an awesome tactic if you're feeling like you need something new. The faces I make up completely without any inspiration/reference seem to look fairly similar to one another, unlike things I make in the DA:O toolset, unfortunately. However, I combined a couple/few ideas that I saw on the database and was really happy with the outcome, totally unique and was an interesting process to go through.

But oh, how I wish Mass Effect had a toolset :/

The greatest issue with the Hammerhead is that I can't save. I would save incessantly on the Mako, lol. The added platforming with the HH just makes me facepalm. Let me throw myself off mountains again, plz.

Honestly,
I was somewhat pleasantly surprised by the realistic nature of the endings given the context of the story. The only happy ending per se is marrying Alistair and even that comes with consequences. While it would be nice if Mass Effect's conclusion was somewhat ambiguous and left to player intreperation. I have a lingering feeling Bioware might head into the "damned if you do and damned if you don't" direction. It certainly is popular over on the main thread. Put bluntly, a large number favor Shepard dying and some use the whole "we need Shepard out of the way so Bioware can use the Mass Effect universe in other games easier" rationality.

Personally, while I prefer the death option myself. I would argue for the ambiguous ending so everyone is happy.
No, not buying.

Were I a conspiracy theorists I would take note of the trailer in which some gritty generic space marine grunt is the bigger player than Shep . Could be there are already pushing her out the door.  I could believe
that, if I were a conspiracy theorist.

Well it would be wholly dependent on the approach Bioware was undertaking. Halo was originally about Master Chief, yet after the third installment he has been almost completely removed from the franchise. They focused on prequels or "this happened at the same time elsewhere" angles. If Bioware opted for similar to set the stage for a multiplayer spin-off. It is pretty much inevitable that will happen (the spin-off that is.)

Honestly, I would be nice to have the option for a happy conclusion. They have become an increasing rarity in gaming these days.

Plus I have to credit DA:O with leading me to Mass Effect.  As soon as I beat it, I started researching
other Bioware games and jumped all over Mass Effect.  I immediately went out and got ME1, then ME2, and then KOTOR.  My husband probably wants to shatter every copy of DA:O he sees, since it can be credited to magnifying by video game obsession by 300%.  I used to only read about games, occasionally peruse message boards, and maybe fire up the Xbox 360 once every 2 weeks or so.  Now when I'm *not* playing it, I'm over
here on the Bioware Social forums obsessively.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie]  And it's all DA:O's fault.

Since I take it you are relatively new to gaming (at least in comparison me, xD) you have not played a whole lot. Cannot say if you would fancy JRPGs but ifyou like story as a primary, perhaps. In any event look at some of the
older games in the genre (Xenogears, Chrono Cross, FFX, Suikoden) Some of the best games available. If you have not played Bioware's Jade Empire. I would also recommend it.

It was clear. What I said was some sarcasm. Glad you liked them. Round 3 should be out later today/early tomarrow.

@Yuki
Have you tried falling off the path to peak 15 on Noveria. I laughed and had to pause it. The game lets you...I hate not being able to save in the HH. I saved alot, like you, in the MAKO. Hehe.

Q: Do you consider your Femhep a bad driver or a good driver who likes to run off cliffs and into things?
Lili-she is horrible at driving, but tells people she's good and just pretends to be horrible.
Athena-Really good. She just likes falling of cliffs and running into things.
