What are your thoughts on the dlc armors? I've seen one where FemShep is completely flat chested and looks like a boulder. I'm not sure what it's called as I've not downloaded any of the armors.
She's a marine but she's still a woman who doesn't need to look like the hulk. What do you all think??
What rynluna described sounds like that Cerberus Armor.
Mmm, I always thought the DLC armors were a bit unflattering. Frankly, I dont know how muhc better they'd look on a man (an improvement, obviously, since there are no curves for them to erase, but they still seem kinda hideous). Blood Dragon Armor at least is a better more slender - you get the impression it IS a woman underneath all that.
My biggest problem with them, though isn't their lack of hips and cleavage (travesty though that is) - I can't stand the total face coverage. I can't imagine how anyone can handle playing an RPG, especially one wiht as much talking and drama during missions as this one, and seeing nothing but a helmet visor everytime their character speaks. It just ruins the experience for me.

When I saw reviews that Kestral armor was in pieces just like the N7 armor and helmet wasn't required, I was happy to pay 2 dollars just to have variety. Not everyone likes the flat-chest look of Kestral, but I like that the option is available. I wouldn't wear that little black dress on Normandy, but I like that it's available if I want to use it on Samara's loyalty mission. Just little things like that.

Sometimes i switch back to the suit Dr. chakwas wers because the way Femshep Jogs (just like male shep) makes her back look so manly, but then she starts talking and ti shows the front of the dress and it balances out. I especially like the renegade options on samara's loyalty mission, you get to kick three turian asses in a dress.Gilsa wrote...
I regretted getting collector's edition when it turned out they were one piece and a mod (dev, maybe? I can't remember) explained they were designed that way and that there were no plans to change it for helmet toggling. Anytime I talk about ME2 with a friend, I generally recommend they get the regular game unless they want the extra stuff that comes with CE.

The Krestral is nice, but I like the benefits more than the look. I like the Dragon armor the best and would use it more often if the helmet toggled.

After the 2nd game came out I personally pretty much threw out any ideas of realism when playing Mass Effect. As opposed to the first game, now I look at it as more fantasy than sci-fi grounded in reality. A little depressing but what can you do? I guess my point is realistic armor is sort of a moot point when compared against the bodysuits and stripper boots the squadmates wear into battle. I modded my Shepard into Aria's outfit and that works for me. She always was kind of a loose cannon in ME1...
I've also never used any of the covered helmets. Some of them look cool, but as soon as a cutscene happens I'm bummed I can't see her face. A talking helmet just doesn't have the same impact. Hopefully they'll fix that for ME3.

back ontopic I thnk it's funny that every helmet BUT the kestral helmet covers the mouth (unless you count the breatherless N7 helemt) the death mask you get from Tuchanka is the scariest though.

I just bought the Kestrel armor yesterday and it's starting to grow on me. Still not completely sold on the "flat chested-boulder" look, but I can see the appeal for those interested in armor that actually looks like, well, armor. To me it doesn't look really flat chested, it's just the square shape that comes off as really masculine, like she has giant armored man-pecs.

Heh, moding FTW. I used Morinth's Asari Commando outfit myself (seemed appropriate for an adept - I figure the Asari must know a thing or two about equiping biotic warriors). I find Aria's body model is terrific, but it looks a little bit weird, since it seems to be proportioned somewhat larger than the characters head (to my surprised, the blue skin actually _doesn't_ look weird - it just looks like a its another layer of the outfit, rather than flesh). I seem to hve lost that screenshot-taking program someone linked me a while ago or I'd take one.

You know I think the main gripe about outfits was that they didnt' change on the collector ship. like everyone says sheprd was in fullbody armor and a helmet while say Miranda and Jack were in their regular clothes. but I doubt they were exposed to the vacuum of space really. If they were then there'd also be no gravity on the collector ship but when you kill a collector before it lands when they fly in an such, they drop like a rock, which means somethings gotta be keeping the vacuum outside the ship, but there probably isn't any oxygen on the collector ship sicne they don't need it due to the collectors being mostly tech as Mordin said.

Mmm, I remember seeing MIranda with her tiny breather-mask, and thinking 'really?' If I had to guess, though, I'd suspect it has to do with not wanting to create a whole other outfit for each and every character for non-breathable atmospheres. Keeping her duds as strip-ified as possible (or, more generally, keeping everyone looking like their usual, arguably stylish, selves) was probably more of a happy bonus. I tend to assume, like you, that its not a real vacume - just an unbreathable atmosphere.

exactly. they have breather masks on the geth ship and on some space ships the dock on because there's little or no oxygen. not because they're in outer space.Valentyna wrote...

The asari commando armor is perfect for an adept character IMO. The Aria model I'm using for an infiltrator and used a texmod to change the Asari skin to human. One thing I liked about ME1 was different armor classes. I like my characters to wear armor that seems analagous to their class. I guess the argument can be made that Shep is first a soldier, but I'm all for options.

Umm she's renegade, can you tell?
Not sure if it's been covered as I haven't read the whole thread, but I wonder how many people play renegade vs paragon. I love Hale's renegade delivery, although I've never played manshep so I can't really compare.

I say go for it. It certainly adds more options to the game. Texmod is a really simple program to use, especially if you already know how to use photoshop (or something similar.)

Haha, it's true! Jacob can almost seem disinterested depending. Shepard's the one that sounds like a sex-crazed cougar.
