Well I know if you take the 'renegade' option when Kaidan mentions BaAT. It sorta of sidesteps being mean. You blow him off but not completely. I am curious what LesEnfantsTerribles' method is though.

I don't remember exactly, but I think I may have triggered the end of the romance during the conversation with Kaidan in which Liara is mentioned. Just prior to speaking to him, Shepard told Liara that she and Kaidan were just friends, and reciprocated Liara's romantic attraction.

Then, during the conversation with Kaidan immediately afterwards, I made a conscious effort to avoid having Shepard refer to Liara as a friend, or play down their romantic attraction. At no point was Shepard ever a jerk to Kaidan, but the romance ended regardless.

This was achieved via reloading if Shepard's dialogue did not match what I had wanted her to say, and I eventually found the right combination with relevant Paragon/Neutral responses. I apologise for not really helping at all. However, it is possible to end the romance with Kaidan without being a jerk. I like that. I don't want to be mean to him.

Well I never have been able to resist romancing Kaidan through any play through on ME1 so I don't know how hard or easy it is to avoid the romance.

I don't blame Kaidan for the lousy writing on Horizon, or Shep's 'foot in mouth' disease that she came down with all of a sudden during the reunion so my Shepards that didn't have the benefit of an A/U storyline are all waiting patiently for a resolution to the romance in ME3.

And I made myself this a few weeks ago so I don't even have to look at Horizon to see Kate with Kaidan anymore.

Kate Shepard wants to reconcile her friendship with Ashley, whereas Keira Shepard hopes to patch things up with Kaidan. The current troubled status of the friendship is upsetting. :unsure:

Seems there are several places to "turn off" the Kaidan romance.  Your's avoids being a jerk to him, unfortunately (well, for some folks) it requires romancing Liara.

Just my 2c, in my non-romance playthroughs I always shut him down in the first convo with the renegade line "I assume you won't have any questions when whatever's going to hit the fan arrives?"  Or something like that.  It didn't seem mean to me, just stern.  I guess others might have found it mean?

All this talk about ending romanes made me realize something, Bioware sure is quick to Get shepard with someone. You can't be a full paragon to any squadmates that are LI's without opening up the romance and have to be a jerk most of the time to break it off.

For Me Both Kallen's have different LI's in Me1 and 2, Angela's my designated single shep, Novae Rog is going to be modded to be interested in both Tali and Garrus (trying to see if they'll talk about each other if the romances get far enough), Mihka's my New Jacob girl (She is teh Priiiiiize) and Shawn is my Kaidan girl for the VS DLC and I think I'll make a Shep with the Liara Thane Combo for LI's. Covering my bases haha.

I'm not very diverse. Of the four I currently have three romance Liara and one is with Ashley. My last two are tbd.

No, I fear I'm very boring when it comes to LIs. It's always been Kaidan so far.

No.  The way I've crafted my FemSheps, Liara only fits with them.  It would feel extremely weird to see them romance someone other than Liara.  They might as well not be the same person.  I can't even change their classes because it's part of who they are.  I have however made other FemSheps that I've since abandoned to check out the Samara almost mance and the Thane mance.

Nope.  Renée, my infiltrator has stayed with Liara.  I've got a solider, and I forget what her name is, who's been loyal to Kaidan.

Well, no. So far Tiia has been without LI. How ever on my recent play though, there seems to be something going on between Tiia and Kaidan. Does that actually make it yes then? :huh:

Everyone's romanced Kaidan. Even Meghan. I didn't have her romance Garrus to "try it out," though. I did it because it felt right for the character to do what she did.



I do, however, have a Jacob romance save on Meghan. For science.



I have no Thane or Liara Femsheps. Yet. Though if I ever get to make a maleshep, I'll probably romance Liara with him.

I can see why Ryn! :happy:   oh and yeah it seems odd you have to be so harsh on Kaiden. My first couple of plays I thought I made it clear we were just friends but still had the threes company dialogue with Liara.   Bit of bad writing and scripting there
