I've made non import  romance free ME2 game with the intention of using it for a ME2 romance but I just didn't find any of them appealed to me so that Shep is single and tucked away in case you can start a romance with Kaidan from scratch in ME3.  I do have the paramour achievement in ME2 but that was just for getting screenshots for Sia (and then Leggy) with Garrus.

Cannon Default Jane Femshep = Single    (You hated me enough for this already so leave me alone )   Come on Sniper! please please please

Laura Shep#1 = Liara

Laura Shep#2 = Liara and then Garrus

Amelia Shep = Kaiden

Sophie Shep = Single for ME havent played her in ME2 yet.


So I still need to try Thane and I doubt I will experience the ME2 male shep romances.

I've only got one fem!Shep so far who romanced Kaidan and remained faithful to him...if I can get over the voice thing to do another, she may or may not romance Kaidan in ME1 but will go for either Garrus or Thane in ME2. I'm thinking I might just start in ME2 and use whatever the default settings are, rather than play through ME1 again, for time's sake, at least until I can get over thinking that Anelle's voice is Anelle's only. :-P

Just my 2c, in my non-romance playthroughs I always shut him down in the first convo with the renegade line "I assume you won't have any questions when whatever's going to hit the fan arrives?" Or something like that. It didn't seem mean to me, just stern. I guess others might have found it mean?

This was the one I used. It drops the BaAT conversation, which is somewhat irksome but effectively ends any potential romance. I did not find it mean either.

All this talk about ending romanes made me realize something, Bioware sure is quick to Get shepard with someone. You can't be a full paragon to any squadmates that are LI's without opening up the romance and have to be a jerk most of the time to break it off.

Indeed. I find it even more amusing how in many of their games your sanity can be akin to Hitler's and they still swoon over you. *Eyes Jade Empire*

With Selene, I had already decided I would be doing a subsequent playthrough sometime thereafter. Thus, I explored all the romances for the amusement of doing so. I was also determined to romance Jacob without her being portrayed as a horny teenager. I was somewhat successful, but considering what there is to worth with...

Thane was interesting however I ultimately chose Garrus for no other reason besides him being Garrus. Despite him being my favorite of the series. I cannot derive much interest in his romance. I fancy it for what it entails, primarily surprisingly decent writing. That said, Garrus is either my brother in arms (Dawson and Keira) or the younger brother you attempt to steer onto the proper path (Selene.)

When I replay that file. Selene will remain loyal to Kaidan and I do not intend to alter it again on any further playthroughs.

Keira is different because her canon depicts her as somewhat open. She does not readily commit to Liara until ME2 due to a presumption she would move on, which is reminiscent of an earlier relationship. She surmised it was a fling and nothing beyond. Her fascination with biotics is partially addictive, which ushers in intrigue upon the Consort (ME), Samara and even Morinth.

I think i have played first game at least 3 times with different FemSheps and always romanced Liara.
In ME2 (first playthrough) poor Garrus is already researching how they could do it

No.  The way I've crafted my FemSheps, Liara only fits with them.  It would feel extremely weird to see them romance someone other than Liara.  They might as well not be the same person.  I can't even change their classes because it's part of who they are.  I have however made other FemSheps that I've since abandoned to check out the Samara almost mance and the Thane mance.

rynluna hit the nail on the head with the bolded part.  Tess is the only FemShep that I have an alternate file for, and it drives me crazy... I don't want to delete it, but it's so confusing.  Which one is the REAL Tess?!   There can only be oooooonnnneee!

Really, though, I can't change anything about them.  If I want to try out a different LI, I have to make a new Shep from scratch.

I haven't managed to make it through ME1 without romancing Kaidan, though.  Most of my Sheps are loyal to him, but I guess a few ended up "cheating" on him.  (Though I don't think it counts as cheating when, in most cases, she has no intention of going back to him.)

I tried my hardest to avoid romancing him with Kate.  I kept picking mean options but then I'd feel bad about it and pick nicer ones, so Kate was completely bipolar with him.  One second she'd be flirting with him, and the next she'd be yelling for him to fall in line and leave her alone.    In the end it helped define Kate's "hot and cold" personality.

I've just finished the Suicide Mission once again and desided to wright this. Jane's thoughts after the Suicide Mission. Something she couldn't tell anyone of her teammates.

It’s been almost a day since we destroyed the Collector base. Can’t even believe it was just a few hours ago. The Collectors attacked the Normandy while my team and I were on another mission. They took my people, but we saved them. We passed through the Omega-4 relay and returned. We did the impossible. I still think about what the Illusive Man said. The Collector base was a terrible place and we destroyed it… Did I make a right decision? I really hope to believe that… Of course I told my teammates it was right and they agreed. Everyone. Even Miranda. The thing is I do not believe myself sometimes. But no one should know it. Even my friends. No one at all.
Could Cerberus find a way to use the Collector base against the Reaper threat or not? Maybe they could but… Well, I suppose we will never know. I ordered to destroy it based on my emotions. I hated that place. When I saw what the Collectors were doing I understood everything. I know their secret. When I spoke to Sovereign for the first time the told me this “We are each a nation. Independent, free of weaknesses. You cannot even grasp the nature of our existence.” And only now I understand what was that mean…
Strange, when I was a kid I dreamed to be some kind of savior of the galaxy. And later I just wanted to be a captain of a space ship. I joined the Space Forces cause I knew the life in the gang won’t do me any good. I wanted to be someone… But I’ve never excepted anything like this. The Harbinger said that the Reapers are coming. They will attack sooner or later. We have to stop them. 
We humans are very young race however we are evolving faster than others. Just like the Protheans and those who were before them. No wonder the Reapers and the Collectors drew attention to us. The Prothean beacon allowed me to see what they did 50000 years ago. But the Protheans didn’t expect the assault from the Dark Space. Unlike us. We have allies all over the galaxy. They won’t turn away from us.
Oh. there is much to be done. Now we’re heading up to the Citadel. The Council must see the data we got from the Collector Base. They can’t ignore the Reaper threat any more. Sooner or later the entire galaxy will understand that I was right. And I can only hope we will be ready to face the Reapers.

I don't remember exactly how it goes, but I usually pick the lines that go like this when fending off Kaidan:

"So, you think you have leave to talk like we're more than officers?"
"Sorry, Kaidan. This was just a battlefield thing."

I feel like it's kind of mean, but at least I get all his conversations that way.

When it comes to romances, I couldn't change who my Shepards are with either. It's very much a part of them. I couldn't see Holly with anyone else but Thane. I definitely couldn't see Constance with anyone but Liara. Same with Moira. As I've mentioned before, they tend to develop these personalities and I just kinda run with it.

Question: Why is it so hard to reverse-engineer facemorphs from ME2 to ME? I got the first game in a Steam sale over the holidays and I've got to actually play it now, and it is kind of difficult to actually send them back in time, so to speak. 

As for the whole multiple LI thing, I have youtube for that.  I started Sam with Kaidan in mind and she grew from there.  Kat, however, is very new to me, and I have yet to figure out who she will romance.  It was going to be Miranda, but the method to get there is difficult and it doesn't seem in-character anymore...

cgrimm, I use a slider converter webpage yukidama gave me, and it works great. lol I usually end up tweaking slightly in ME after making them in the ME2 demo so I can give them some run time and make sure I really like the face, but I haven't had a problem converting them. Do you need the web page?

It's fairly accurate.  I recreated Kate as she looks in ME2 for some material to play with in photoshop  the other day because all the saved games I have with her from ME1 she has longer hair.

Take your ME2 face code and insert on this web page.  It will tell you what sliders to set!

Word of wisdom - Sliders start at 1, not zero.  Why no, I'm not speaking from experience as one who wasted 20 minutes and had to go back and subtract one from every slider  >.>  I only figured it out because I was like "I would not have picked that nose....oh."  lol So hopefully I saved you some trouble...

No, at least not the ME1 romances, those Sheps stayed loyal. For one of my Sheps I created a "spin-off" character with a different name for ME2, just for the Garrus romance(Jean). The unaltered ME1 import had no ME1 LI, and went for Thane (Jeena).
