Anelle's backstory covers some time at a shelter in her teenage years to get off the streets, but I also have a little thing in my head where the Academy assigns her a boy to help her adjust to "normal" life since there's a lot she never knew growing up about how people live.  I imagine they had a little bit of a fling, but both grew out of it around graduation and that he's off happily living his own life now.  The former lover that matured into good friend kind of thing.

Probably the only good memories Jennie (Earthborn, War Hero) has from her youth in Pittsburgh are of Shepard's Diner.  I have a whole little story in my head that I'll probably never write down, so I'll just tell it here. After she ran away from the Reds and bounced between sleeping in shelters and on the streets for a while, she found herself at the diner one night.

An older lady named Ariel Shepard owned it, whose husband had died a few years back.  Mrs. Shepard basically ran the place herself.  The night Jennie stumbled in, the only other employee was a rude little teenaged girl who was more interested in chatting on her omni-tool than serving customers.  Mrs. Shepard finally got fed up with the girl and fired her on the spot, and told Jennie that if she helped her finish closing up for the night, she'd let Jennie take some of the leftover baked goods.

Of course Jennie jumped all over that opportunity, since she was hungry and broke and only ducked into the diner to avoid the rain for a little while.  Mrs. Shepard was very friendly to her and Jennie told her bits and pieces of her story as she worked.  At the end of the night, Mrs. Shepard offered Jennie a job, with room and board in Mrs. Shepard's apartment above the diner in lieu of wages.  (Kind of a risk but Mrs. Shepard was a tough old bird... she was more than capable of handling any street kid who got rough, and she didn't have much worth stealing.)

The following year or so was the happiest one of Jennie's life up to that point.  Ariel wasn't exactly a mother figure, but she was certainly the best friend Jennie had ever had.  When Jennie was almost 17,  Mrs. Shepard died.  Her estranged children showed up and sold the diner, kicking Jennie into the streets again.

Still, her time there affected Jennie's life in an unbelievably positive way, to the point where she took Ariel's last name as her own while filling out Alliance paperwork on her 18th birthday.  I really liked this backstory to her last name, since Jennie has no idea what her own real last name might be.  Some of my other Earthborns have more of an idea of their background, but Jennie never did.

My earthborn adopts her name too! I really do like that idea for earthborns, it fits with the idea that they never met their parents. Although how they expected their parents to possibly find them after Elysium in the case of a war hero kind of baffles me, but oh well! The likelihood is that they're dead or don't care anyways.

Thanks ELE. To answer the question (other then my fanfics) yup.
Lili has very good memories from her past, until the raid. She of course has her parents and then Devu and Mahi. Really Devu was her first love, while Mahi was her BFF. She also remembers her first enemy, a girl who teased her about her looks, saying she was stupid because of her hair and eyes. That didn't end well....
Athena....she has horrible memories about the Reds, her only friend being Isis and all. (working on her past and everything now, she is more complex then Lili in some ways) She always loved one of her allies, but he died in a raid they had one night. Then her next was Ares, the simple bartender.

I have a question as well, does your FemShep ever vent?
Lili tends to vent, mainly to Garrus. Athena...bottles it up but still messages Ares from time to time.

Anelle is not the type to burden others with her problems if she feels they have problems of their own.  So if someone is dealing with something else, she's the strong leader who can take on the world.  It's one of the reasons that she and Kaidan worked out - he didn't need her to hand hold or baby him, he was willing to be her shoulder without a lot of extra effort on her part.

Come to think of it, the Jacob romance probably would have worked out too.  >.> But she doesn't consider the relationship with Kaidan hopelessly over, so no Jacob for her!

Rhona's the same way.  Kind of the strong silent type.  She doesn't like others to see her weakness, but she shows compassion for others.
She is the type to exercise her frustration out.  Something pisses her off, she'd probably run until she's out of fuel or punch something.

She has them but the events surrounding her old friend are possibly one of the most agonizing memories to linger. She has never quite forgiven herself for what transpired with Karen (BFF) despite it being a merciful act. For lovers, Keira only had a single person she would consider more than a fling, even if their relationship could be described as game and neither knew much of one another. It did not under on fond terms. Honestly, it was left in limbo when both were reassigned elsewhere.

So while Keira has memories. She is not keen on recalling either and especially not anything in regards to Karen. For moments prior to the raid on Mindoir. They dwindle and from time to time she loses herself in tranquil thought but it has become such an immense rarity, she even claims to have forgotten many of the faces she knew.

Writing this out in a fanfic is proving to be a tall order. It is difficult to relay those emotions at times for fear they will not come across as intended. Perhaps, when I am off my gaming high, I am dedicate time to finishing it.

Ask Keira that question and she will usually respond with a rather morbid jest, climbing she vents to her shotgun and that it "blows away most of my problems."

Otherwise, no. She is extremely closed off and perceives burdening someone else with her problems would be a display of weakness. That she was incapable of handling them herself and does not desire sympathy nor pity. Liars has partially subverted this tendency but it quite meticulous in determining when it is best to press Keira as if the moment is not specific. Keira will wall herself away and demand the subject dropped.

Coincidently, the line Garrus says during his loyalty mission: "What do you want from me?" is one Keira has used frequently enough. The two are relatively similar on the renegade spiral.

Melantha's boyfriend was killed when they tried to make it to safety during the attack on Mindoir.  She blamed herself for his death for a long time and had a lot of trouble moving on, even after being in therapy.  The attack really tainted a lot of her fondest memories of friends as well, and while she has dealt with it, those memories still have a lot of sadness attached to them.

Before the destruction of the SR-1?  Absolutely.  'Lantha's generally very open about how she feels about things.  After she died, though, she closed herself off a lot.  Everything happened so rapidly that she didn't know who she could trust and who she couldn't, so she's kept a lot to herself and she's emotionally not in the best of places because of it.

Sounds like Rhona and Holly would get along. She tends to act in the same manner. She treasures her friends and has a great deal of compassion and empathy, but tends to be direct and all about business when it comes to getting the job done. Her good natured teasing (especially in Garrus' case) is something only people very close to her see.

As for memories, her fondest would be of her older brother. They were best friends growing up. Losing him on Mindoir was very difficult for her.

Venting:
Holly doesn't vent so much as find a quiet place to relax and be alone. She also loves to go for walks, even if it's just a random stroll around the ship.

Rhona is a seriously lovely piece of art. All of your Femsheps make me stop and look, then look again, then come back a few hours or days later and look again. I don't know how you do it, or where the creativity comes from, but your work is lovely.



As for the jacket...... I like the double breasted look. Is it a top jacket and a vest underneath? I'd like one in a motorcycle type of jacket.
