Re: Not knowing about playing as a female Shepard:

One
of my friends saw me playing ME1 last year and asked what it was and
seemed surprised when I said ME.  Her words were "Oh, I thought
you played as that Shepard guy."  It didn't get her too interested
though, since her video game interests stay restricted to Nintendo.

Chignon wrote...

Delta = Chicago, Illinois... and as such she loves her hot dogs covered in all kinds of gross stuff... relish and pickles and ew

Evie = Detroit, Michigan

Jennie = Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

As far as they know, they were all born in those cities.  Delta was definitely born in Chicago and her mom might still live there if she's alive (not that Delta knows that; she never knew who her mom was obviously).

EDIT: TOP FemShep!

That is amazingly well thought out, Sable. Awesome!

I do like to hear how others roleplay their Shepards, and develop these complex backstories. It's awesome.

Well since I'm not from NA and have no real notion of how the environment is in the major cities, I chose NYC slums for Ivy. London just doesn't quite cut it for her, what with the lack of British accent and all.
And she's a renegon, nice to her crew but doesn't take bs from anyone else.

My earthborn/sole survivor is renegade. Or renegon I suppose since she takes neutral or paragon options on some of the major decisions. And is nice to her crew.

That's actually something I have trouble with - even when I try to be renegade I still feel almost obligated to be nice to the crew. :-P Shepard's got a soft spot for his (in that particular case) crew, I guess.

actually my two exceptions are Wrex and Garrus. Wrex because he can take it and Garrus because renegading him fits in more with Jih's personality.

I'd give Mirror's Edge and Faith a try if I wasn't prone to motion sickness. :sick:  lol!  I'm really looking forward to giving DA2 a spin, the default FemHawke is gorgeous!

Oh and dat FemShep so we're on topic....

I don't know what it's worth, but I get sometimes get motion sickness in first person games, and Mirror's Edge never give me any trouble.  I enjoyed the game, too.  ^_^

Anyway...

Hey, do you guys know a good place to see some FemSheps with their codes? I was thinking of playing ME2 again, but I wanted to tweak my Shep's look, since I was never particularly happy with it. I wanted to look at some Sheps and use their codes as a jumping-off point. Since you guys all have awesome femsheps, I couldn't think of who else to ask. ^^;

Playing a Renegade/Renegon Shep doesn't equal mistreating the crew.

I agree with Chignon. You can be nice to your crew and still be renegon. Never played full renegade before though.

Certainly not with a renegon, which is what my male Shep is turning out to be, almost half and half dead even.  I meant more continuously picking renegade options, even with the crew.  It just seems so mean to do it!  I can't even cut Garrus off when he thanks me for bringing him along for the millionth time, he just sounds so let down that he didn't get to finish!  xD

I have a question for everyone who has an Earthborn FemShep:

Where was your Shepard born? Where did she grow up?

Los Angeles, whose population dropped immensely once the space race began, and everyone with money started moving to the colonies.

And our economy went bankrupt, plus rising ocean levels from environmental troubles laid waste to sections of affluent coastline, freeways left in disrepair...let's just say I can see the future Los Angeles megatropolis becoming a hive of poverty and crime, with the rich that stayed behind looking down from their mountain fortresses.  Yeah, I'm from California.  I can't really visualize Shep growing up anywhere else.

So add me to the list of earthborn femsheps growing up in L.A. (that would be Rhona.)  I've never heard a Canadian accent in femshep myself.

Yeah, I grew up in L.A., so I'm probably a little biased about where Shep should have grown up.  Also, the idea that people were leaving in droves, along with a stumbling local economy meant that there were a lot of recently-abandoned households which were ripe for a young Infiltrator-in-training to practice her skills.

Exactly. Also not all Renegade lines translate to being a jerk.

Mine are, because that's where I'm from.  It's not an "AMERICA IS TEH BEST" thing; I'm just obviously more familiar with the US and its cities, so it's way easier to role-play a Shep from one.  I've actually been to places like Chicago, so I can come up with a lot more details in my head for Delta's backstory than I could if she were from somewhere else.  And her accent pinpoints her being raised somewhere in NA anyway.  You could certainly role-play ways around that (I can think of a few) but that's more complicated than I care to get with my Shepards' backstories.  :D

Well for me it would certainly be easier to RP my Shep as being from Europe, and specifically UK (where I currently live). But like I said before, the accent is kind of difficult to get around. Just have to avoid writing any environmental scenes when I work on my fanfic hehe.

No. After seeing the trailer, I think London would make a good choice from the story perspective.

I focused on very general things in mine since I never named an actual city, things that would be pretty common to any slum i.e. abandoned places, dirt in the streets, etc.  In any case, you're looking at a story that takes place over a century from now, so things can chance and don't need to be exact.  I would keep things in mind, but wouldn't think you needed to wrack your brains over small details that can be waved away by the passage of time.
