I've picked 7 because it was closest to default Jane, at the time didn't got much ideas as well as I didn't knew it will get some of the, hmm "bad press". Well, I like it, that's enough for me.

But you can do things with the character creator that some would deem impossible. Noah is proof of that much.

Having Sheps that look the same all the time is really boring, I love some of the different and interesting ones I've seen on here
Won't post any pics of her til I import her to 2 though because ME1 PC graphics are CRAP even on a good comp.

I've decided to try a vanguard for real, but I can't for the life of me make a pretty face for her and it bugs me. Just out of curiosity. What face do you use as a base for your Sheps?
Kate is face shape 7

Liz is face shape 1

I specifically chose different sliders for most of Liz's features in an attempt to make her different looking from Kate.

You can probably make a good design out of almost all the face shapes but certain ones are much easier to work with, hence the widespread use of the Face 7 base.

At Max resolution with forced driver override anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering it looks alright.

Overall, yes. But I cannot get over how bad the hair meshes look. Makes my eye twitch.

What..the..hell.
Good job BioWare. Seriously, things like this really pisses me off. I know they love their little supermodel-Shepard, but if the player chooses to play a female at least have the decency to show the "Previously on ME1" video with a female. I hope they fix that when the actual game is released.
Nice way to ruin the game before it's even begun. <_<

Custom male sheps have to watch Sheploo too, though. Cold comfort, I know.

Okay, honestly, they can make a case for the incessant use of their posterboy in marketing.
But that's just lazy.
And trite.
I'm getting fairly jaded with this franchise.

It does that on the PC demo too, if I remember correctly. I skip the recap now. It's because you don't design your face until you get resurrected with Project Lazarus. During the Normandy scene your helmet is on the entire time, so all they need to know is sex so they play the right voice. I guess they didn't see a reason to go with Jane if you pick female since not even the guys get to design their Shepard until later.

Argh, that's not good.
I still maintain hope that there will be a huge change of policy in ME3's marketing, though. If Jane Shepard is used in any form to promote the game, then I will be happy. It's sad that players are completely unaware of the fact that the ability exists to play Commander Shepard as a woman until the character creator loads up.

There was a thread up here about a new ME player who was trying to figure the game out. He or she didn't even know there was an option to be anything other then generic Sheploo soldier. Food for thought. <_<LesEnfantsTerribles wrote...

I'm sure it's just the demo. The final game will have consistency.
That video is so simple to make, I guess everyone here can remake it for Jane Shepard. Need to get Martin Sheen to re-say a few words though.

Bioware just seems to really want you to play Mass Effect starring John Shepard. Ugh.

Not to go away from the topic, but I just made the vanguard, and....anyone else have a Shepard who doesn't have any eyelashes? I'm hoping it's just the crappy graphics on Lazarus station because I don't want to go through 10 minutes of un-skippable intro o.o

I can see someone saying Bioware doesn't have the resources to make an alternate demo video with FemShep but they could have easily made that video gender neutral. Martin Sheen could have just said, Shepard, soldier, the Commander...etc. Instead of "one man." :-/ They could have shown quick shots of either gender with their helmets on.

Hence the reason I take their trailers, put FemShep in them and try to improve them during that process.
If they screw the pooch with ME3, you better believe I'll do it there too. <_<

Happened to Anelle too when I imported her. I didn't even notice it until yukidama pointed it out. I think she said if you save, exit, and load her eyelashes will come back? It worked for me, the next time I loaded up her game.

Tis a glitch.
As soon as you are able to save, do it and then reload. Eyelashes should appear.

Yeah, that's a damn shame. It's awful that many people will be complete unaware of the fact that a fresh alternative exists to the generic, white, shaven-headed, male space marine. FemShep is a brilliant protagonist.

If I had not read about it in advance, I would not have known that there even was an option to play as FemShep. The Devs did a horrible job of advertising customization options in ME1.

I think Anelle is an 8 too? It was supposed to be 7 but me being an idiot forgot about how sliders start at 1 when I retrograded to ME1 and I know I tweaked a few things past that. I think we decided that face shape was one of the things I changed...
