Awesome thread title.
I agree.
I don't care how much they love their hairy backed gorrila of a mascot, FemShep is the best Shep and that's just the way things are. She deserves some recognition at least at the end of the trilogy, since heaven forbid she be treated as an equal right from the get go.
Or that people even know she exists.
Edit: Because some people don't know the "rules".

Adele is pretty plain, but that was kinda the point.

Priya, IDK what to do with her. Kaidan or Liara? Vanguard or Sentinel? Renegade, Paragon, Renegon, Paragade? Earthborn? Space? Ruthless? War Hero? *tears out hair*

I can't seem to get any decent screenies of Nyxia Shepard since she is still stuck in ME1-land where the lighting is terrible. Will have to post some once I import her.

Yeah, I dropped the ball with the top of page pic thing, but Colleen is sexier than my Sheps so it's all good. XD
I'm hoping the this will all be fixed in the shipped PS3 game but I kind of doubt it.

She looks Earthborn/War Hero/Renegon to me. Not sure about the class/LI.

I know you said you "found one", but I couldn't resist linking my current wallpaper anyway:

There's also a Paragade and Renegade wallpaper for the more "morally freelance" of you floating around out there

Actually, that's the exact picture I found. I isolated the paragon symbol out of it, and will be using it in my video. If that's OK, of course.

The twelve-year-old thing is one of the several very good reasons I steer clear of CoD games. Previous addiction notwithstanding. Mass Effect is simply so much better, AND there's nobody screaming obscenities at you while you throw Blue Suns around like pebbles.
While I mostly agree. Those little ones have resulted in some of my most hilarious games. For instance, I had one kid teabag me and go on a tangent about how awful I am at Halo. Too bad he missed the grenade next to my corpse, a grenade he would have been nowhere near had he just walked off. I nearly fell off my chair laughing when he realized and just before he finished screaming his mic cut. Called me a hacker and reckless chased me around the whole map. I scored about fifteen kills on him alone and twenty two or so out of fifty for me team. Karma is a dangerous beast.
In any event, yes. ME is much preferable although that could be because story is more of an importance for my games than killing everything.

But Conrad is a lovable idiot! I thought you were a hero! lol.
I don't blame the devs completely. It's a larger problem than that, and you nailed it in regards to public rooms there's not really much they can do. Unfortunately it seems like a self perpetuating problem, woman don't play these games because they aren't inclusive/aren't marketed towards them, so like with femshep, they will continue to market their games to the same audience resulting in fewer woman playing them because they aren't marketed towards them...if you see where I'm going with this.
The only solution I can think of is like you said, sticking with people you know, if possible. Haha, I would want to do mass effect multiplayer with the femshep thread. But you guys are too nice, no one would want to shoot each other
It's something that I would hope will change over time, like anything else. As more woman get into gaming and more viable characters like femshep are created, maybe the landscape will change.
Idiots are forever though, regardless of gender.
That he is. Poor Conrad, Keira told him to buzz off at first, then let him take a picture, next will shove a gun in his face and finally shoot him in the foot.
Actually, that is not necessarily true nowadays. There are female dominated clans for FPS games, the two most popular having been PMS and RagDolls. PMS seems to have faded out of the sense in recent years but Rog Dolls is still around. I have played a few of their members and bloody hell they are damn good. One in particular I still rank as arguably one of the best players I played against and won. CoD has more women than one would believe as Youtube has indicated. They are merely quiet about it... at least until they want you to realize you are getting destroyed by a girl. The amount of rage that enduces in some people is still hilarious. Therefore, it is growing. If developers take note and cease this horrendous notion girls only like cutsy Bratz games (Seriously, Ubisoft.) remains to be seen.
Well there are alternatives such as team deathmatch or objective games where you work everyone here against another team. If Bioware made an online similar to Halo or CoD. You could sport at least a 8v8 game. Although I imagine anyone not accustom to Insanity on ME2 would be panic-stricken initially with CoD's setting. It is horribly fast pace, as in you die in maybe two shots. Halo is more forgiving due to shields and higher health.
I have two qualms with a ME spin off like that. I would want to use a Turian or Krogan over my Femshep just because I could (if I could), xD. That and openly admit those games do not bring out the best in me. I have... colorful choices of words that are in much greater abundance.

Starring Sheploo. Which makes me wonder how much they actually paid the face model since they consistently keep on promoting him.
Not to go away from the topic, but I just made the vanguard, and....anyone else have a Shepard who doesn't have any eyelashes? I'm hoping it's just the crappy graphics on Lazarus station because I don't want to go through 10 minutes of un-skippable intro o.o
I would estimate around 50k at least. The average voice actor salary is 70k for top tier. So that is a probable comparable and since Femshep is not modeled after a real life individual. They would use her significantly less. I should note the PS3 demo is barely above a 360 port and been subjected to much ridicule by the PS3 and 360 crowd alike for poor framrate issues and low res. Forcing a default Sheploo is... unsurprising for a demo.
And since I have swayed on and off topic quite a bit with this post. I am probably a day off from returning to ME2 with Keira, my beloved Vanguard b****. I have ben opting for more renegade dialogue with the crew and to my surprise, not all of it is punishingly insulting. I want Keira to be difficult to approach yet not outright nasty. This file is the first time I ever heard of Elanos Haliant in all my files. Hale's renegade dialogue is rather amusing.
"You assume I give a damn. Cute" - After Haliant spews on about how awesome he is.
"We get out of here. Someone needs my boot up their ass" - After triggering his trap.
Lord Darius is another, especially since he is one of only two characters in the game to have gender specific dialogue.
I now have to probably acid bath the Queen, decide if the Council lives and conclude who replaces Wrex in ME2. Zaeed, Samara and Jack are likely to tag up with Keira and Garrus. Jack less likely due to playing on Insanity. Perhaps Miranda might work again.

While we're still on this wild tangent I will go out of my way to say that back in the olden days of 2008 when I operated a Team Fortress 2 clan off of Steam a full third of my nine-or-so strong admin staff was made up of female gamers. Damn good ones, too. One of them is, to this date. still one of the best Soldier players I've ever seen play the game.
Also, for the year-and-a-half plus the clan existed practically no one ever gave any of our female members crap, whether they were other members or random people coming onto our servers. As for the ones that did start something there's nothing like a crit rocket to the face to take a loudmouth chauvinist down a peg.
The moral of this story? Girl gamers are out there and *gasp* they play the same games us guys do, too.
Oh, and because we're getting off topic a bit:

Girls kick ass. Case and point
