Always preferred FemShep's voice acting, especially having met Jennifer Hale. She's funnier than you'd think, and puts a lot more passion into the role than ManShep. Only downside is that she doesn't get to romance Tali, and, as we all know, Tali is the most desirable alien in the galaxy.
No. Liara is.

All those different roles, so much talent and yet she gets diddly-squat of recognition in the ME universe. A voice actor of her caliber deserves more recognition!LesEnfantsTerribles wrote...

Trust me, I was tempted. Luckily, i managed to retain just enough control over myself that I probably came across as something close to a normal person, lol!

Indeed! The diversity of her roles indicate just how talented she is, and how great a vocal range she possesses. The fact that both her and FemShep are neglected so badly sucks! It wouldn't hurt to featured a image of Jane Shepard on the rear of the packaging, surely?

BW wants to brand their product w/ a specific icon. It is very important in today’s ADD media world that a product has a very recognizable entity attached to it. BW wants a prospective customer to be able to instantly recognize this icon and know that it is Mass Effect. Companies have been doing this for generations and it is not likely to change. Disney has Mickey Mouse, McDonalds has the golden arches and BW has Vanilla Ice. It is a sad fact, but that’s just the way it works.
Yeah I get that, but there is a big difference between Mickey Mouse and Shepard lol. Disney characters are totally defined characters. On the other hand, there is not "a Shepard" but many character possibilities that ranges from personalities to physical characteristics. And don't get me wrong I don't mind them using Sheploo, but I wish we could see a few screenshots of fem. Shepard and at least a class video with her. Besides one of the class videos for ME1 used a fem Shepard, so why didn't they do the same for ME2?
Didn't know that. Tis odd indeed. Anyway, I agree w/ you. I wouldn't be here if I didn't. Unfortunately things are not likely to change. That doesn't mean we should stop hammering them, however. Quite the contrary, I don’t believe we are rowdy enough. My point, and perhaps I was a bit too subtle w/ the Vanilla Ice comment, is that not only does this “branding and targeting a specific audience” take away equal time for femShep, it also devalues the consumer. It's like those bandits from Lothering are running the show.
Bandit Leader from Lothering: Someone put Jane in a video?! We can’t have that, now can we? It might confuse someone. They may not realize we are promoting Mass Effect! Destroy it now!
Dumb Thug: The ad does say Mass Effect several times and the logo, Mass Effect 2, is clearly spelled out for them. Don’t you think they’d get the gist?
Bandit Leader from Lothering: No! You assume they can read, hear and are paying attention! You assume too much! Destroy it, I say! Destroy it now!
Okay, a gross exaggeration and an over simplification, but you get my drift. And to say BW is the only company that does this kind of thing is a grave injustice. It is universal. Some would argue that this is simply the way business is done. A company makes a product and promotes it as it sees fit. Take it or leave it, because in actuality the customer is almost always wrong. I say, keep hammering.
First of all, what you have done here is a wonderful thing. Even if nothing ever comes of it, just to have a spot to talk, vent, hang out or just support femShep and Jennifer Hale, is something I think we are all grateful for. As for hammering, maybe this will help: http://www.bioware.c...e_info/contact/
This page includes multiple contact info on BioWare including email addresses, a mailing address and phone and fax numbers. So, write them (not an email, but an actual letter), call them, and bug them. Also, don’t know if there is a way to contact her, but just letting Jennifer Hale know she has a lot of support couldn’t hurt.

On my very first playthrough of Mass Effect, as a female Vanguard Shepard, she was solidly a loner, I almost made it a point to avoid romance subplots. At first it was due to trivial reasons such as lack of interest --and lines like "you make me feel human" but that's another issue. But as time worn on, as I continued to make other female Shepards, I began to truly study the concept of the loner female Shepard.
Something seemed to click about female Shepard being a loner, with me personally. I won't profess to be very knowlegable when it comes to women in the military, but it would make sense to me that a female Shepard would be more paranoid about keeping up the appearances of the archetypal commanding officer, strictly following regs when it comes to fraternization with the crew. To follow the instinct drilled into her since enlistment to avoid any sign of weakness, be it valid or not.
And then we have the possibilities of the Background, Psychological profiles and the Virmire incident --although these do not apply solely to a female Shepard. For example, we have the Sole Survivor background, were the it's likely we would have a lasting impression not to get personally and possibly romantically attached to the people you serve with. But as I said, this could apply to either gender of Shepard, so I won't bother going into further details on this point.
Now, since that first Shepard, many many more have followed. I only started making Shepards who did romances within a few months of the release of ME2. But for the most part, my thirty or so Shepards --the vast majority being female Shepards-- are loners. And I have done female Shepard romances, but the lasting idea of the loner female Shepard has remained.
Now, this isn't me trying to say that smart Female Shepard should remain loners. Or that one necessarily needs a loner Shepard at all. People should role-play as they want. I just wanted to share the idea of the loner for discussion's sake.

I just finished my ME1 > ME2 marathon with my canon (I redid her games because I wanted to change her background to earthborn instead of colonist) and I'm just exhausted. I have two more Shepards I'd like to flesh out mainly to try out the other two romances, but I worry it'd be a waste of time if ME2 romances don't carry forward, y'know? I mean, beyond being a 2 minute cameo in ME3 or something. =p
I've been trying to do the same thing but I've played with so many other Shepards that I am a little bored of the games. I want to have my canon all leveled up and ready to take on the Shadowbroker. I figure that I have at least 2 months to do this though. Right now I am still stuck on the Citadel in ME1.
