This video is basically about Holly's struggles, including ME1 and her relationships in ME2.  Heavily inspired by old-fashioned noir and Sin City.  Hope you guys enjoy.

Don't know how long this will be up, though, because I had to do a content ID dispute with YouTube.  It seriously gives me a headache someone can't make a fanvid (which nets them no profit whatsoever) without jumping through hoops for Fair Use.

This is the best one of your videos so far, Aislinn, and it's even better than I hoped it'd be.

The choice of music was perfect and fit together very well with the scenes you chose and the editing. I love how in some scenes certain colours stood out and created a very different mood from other scenes.


P.S.: Holly Shepard looks beautiful in that little black dress.

Glad you guys like it. I worked hard on it. =-)

I had to do a bit of modding to get some of that stuff. Model swapping, weapon removal, etc. I also did color and effect work on every clip, so it was rather time consuming.

It is obvious how much time and care you put in your videos, Aislinn. That's why they are the best I've seen so far - be it on BSN or Youtube.

It's funny, the shot that I thought was the best of the whole video was that brief slow-mo shot of Holly's eyes as she looks left to right.  That was awesome.  You should be very proud.

WMG (who has a lot of artists that record under them) have this thing with YouTube, where they'll disable the audio or block some videos automatically.  You fill out a little form, stating you are using it for non-profit purposes. It usually works and it'll be lifted.

I understand protecting their interests, but really, they're worried about fanvids on YouTube?  It's silly, but whatever.

*blushes*  Thanks, Sable!  I kind of did that shot on a whim.  I usually just play around with clips and come up with ideas.  Sometimes I have a plan, sometimes I just kinda pull things outta thin air.

Not really.  There's quite a few people who play a ME/ME2 at work, and I've been a FemShep evangelist of sorts.  I mostly use two approaches to why I do female characters.  1.  I'd much rather look at something for how many hours that I find attractive, and 2, in this case there is a substantial difference in how the game feels.

I told one guy that Jen Hale's VA work was 'audio erotica,' and it just feels more natural as well.

Of course, my run with Sheploo was pretty much token.  I do have a customized dudeshep Engineer that's only part of the way through ME at this point.

Oh, and nice vid Aislinn.

I don't have any friends who find it odd (although they all seem to play characters of their own sex).  I partially agree with point #1, though.  It's not the sole reason, but it's definitely a factor.

The main reason why I play women, at least in Mass Effect, is that the male protagonist just seems too standard.  It's like a man is expected to save the galaxy from certain destruction, because it's been done that way dozens (if not hundreds) of times before.  It just feels more interesting to have a woman taking on that role.

And yes, Jennifer Hale's voice work is several orders of magnitude better than Mark Meer's!
