As for same sex romances, I agree that it's silly not to have them. Especially in a more futuristic setting, where people seem to be more open-minded.

I love the Liara romance. She just melts my heart with her sweetness, her sexy voice and adorable awkwardness (especially in ME1). And those gorgeous eyes they gave her in LotSB...

Uh, where was I? Oh yeah, FemShep's relationships.

They may make the excuse that Liara technically isn't female...but FemShep is. Which would mean she's attracted to other women, since asari have feminine features. So yeah...

I really wanted Miri and Jack to be romanceable by FemShep. I found them both incredibly intriguing and I consider it a missed opportunity for some awesome character interaction.

I like having all those options available. I can craft better and more personalized characters that way. Not to mention I'm attracted to both sexes, so being limited is frustrating to me.

I support same gender romances, I think it would be more fair to players that want (for example) the FemShep/Ashley romance. I also agree with Aislinn, all options should be avaliable. It would make the game just that much more awesome. Tis why I like seeing the mods you guys have...Ashley/FemShep, Miranda/FemShep etc. is awesome!

Yeah, hearing the whole "but asari are monogendered! So they aren't female! HA HA!" argument just makes me go: <_< Really?  That's a fairly weak argument.  I know Liara points this out herself during the Kaidan-Liara-FemShep love triangle moment, but I think that's just from not knowing much about human sexuality (and Casey Hudson has no such excuse, lol!).  Kaidan and FemShep both seem to be aware that a 100% heterosexual human female probably wouldn't be attracted to asari.

I personally have never done any same-sex romance in a video game.  This is partly due to me being a hetero female and not quite having enough imagination to really get into role-playing a bisexual or lesbian Shepard.  And it's a lot harder when you have hunks of man like Kaidan walking around... ::clears throat::

Another part is that the options are just so limited.  Now I love Liara to death, she's a great friend to my FemSheps, but she's not my type.    If that makes sense, seeing as how I've just claimed to be hetero.  But hear me out!  Liara is sweet, shy, adorable, and undeniably girly, which is fine.  But I just have a hard time getting into that relationship dynamic.  It seems like FemShep is the "man" in that relationship, which I don't like.  I hope that isn't offensive to anyone... I don't mean it maliciously and anything offensive just comes from my own ignorance on the subject.

That's why I agree with you that there should be more options.  If they did swing that way, my Sheps would be more interested in bold, adventurous, strong-willed women like herself.  If Ashley was a s/s option, I could definitely see myself making a Shep for her.  Same thing for Jack, Miranda, or Kasumi.  Characters like Tali and Liara... not so much.

Speaking of Delta, some jerk on Gamefaqs said she looked like a man.  I know this is the evil Interwebz, so I mostly rolled my eyes and moved on, but it made me sad.    It also confused me.  I don't see anything manly-looking about her:



Someone enlighten me?  Or give me tips?  That's the exact opposite effect I was going for with her.  I was aiming for perky and michievous.

They really missed on the same sex Miranda romance. she knows everything about Shepard's of either Gender, knowing all that could make her fall for Shepard even if Shep's a woman.(that's how I have Kallen/Miri in my headcanon) She could have been the Liara style romance. and given Shepard an awesome line after Jacob's LM:

To be honest, if I was in FemSheps shoes...

It would be like a smorgasbord of temptation. And Kaidan? Hunk of a man? Oh yes...

Anyway, it's exactly the reason I think they should have all options available. To cover everyone's preferences and make a better gaming experience for all. Romances may not be the center of the game, but they are definitely a well-loved part of it for a lot of us.

I was totally getting the attraction vibe from Miranda after rescuing her sister.  

Especially that shot where she walks up fairly close to Shep and says "Thank you, Commander.  My sister is safe again thanks in large part to you...I won't forget that."

That could just be my wishful thinking, though.

@Yuki, Aislinn, Ryn: Thanks so much! That makes me feel better.  I'd never had any of my FemSheps targeted negatively before, so I was a little thrown by it.  Silly thing to get offended over though, I suppose.

It really doesn't make sense that Jack isn't a s/s option.  I would still go for Miranda or Ash before her, but at least she definitely states that she's been with women before.  Bioware just sort of dropped that tidbit of info and moved right along.  I wish there'd been some dialogue with Jack saying Shep wasn't her type or something, at least.  Otherwise there's just no reason why we couldn't romance her.

s/s - I love it that a game in which the church predominately rules the land is more open to s/s romance than one set in a an open minded future. Leliana is bi, so I guess we know what goes on behind Chantry doors!

Considering LOTSB actually includes (inaccessible) dialog with Liara for femShep romances with Miranda, Jack and Tali, I think the "attraction vibe" people pick up on is not imagined (especially with Tali). Just because they cut the romances themselves, they wouldn't waste time going back to re-record the lines separately for femShep and manShep, so that attraction comes through for both of them, a lot like the "Dismissed, Chief."  "... ma'am." exchange from ME1.  Unfortunately for femShep those lines mark the cutoff point for anything further.

Playing around with modding, again.  Aislinn totally ganked Liara's breather mask.
