WOW. That news just tanked a respect I gained for bioware after I watched the "Sci vs Fi" special on mass effect 1 where they talked about the customization asnd showed smoe femsheps being made and talked about how you an be a man or a woman. That's a Shame that Jesse Houston thinks that ManShep and ManHawke are icons while Femshep and FemHawke can't be.
If no one minds I'm to interject into this debate as it's closing to say my piece. AD, don't lost respect for Bioware for what
one member of the considerably
much larger than one person studio said as an off-hand comment. The simple fact of the matter is that someone ran their mouth off when they probably shouldn't have, and if my past experiences following the game industry tell me
anything it's that if these comments generate enough bad press or reactions "someone" higher up on Bioware's chain of command than Jesse Houston is going to make him own up to it and then make him clarify on his remarks, stating that his opinion isn't
their opinion.
Will that happen? Probably not, as something tells me most people won't really see this as a problem, but the possibility is there. (I'm also not suggesting that you raise awareness/generally cause a ruckus to gaming news outlets
per se, but the option is there

)
At any rate, is it disheartening that someone that close to the project has this opinion? Well, yeah, of course it is. Does that mean FemShep and, apparently following in her footsteps, her counterpart Lady Hawke are going to continue to be overshadowed? Probably, but has that stopped any of us from shining a light onto her and honoring her thus far?
Hell no, and I don't see why it's going to stop us now.
"Iconic"? *pfft*, Sheploo can keep his shiny little badge of honor. FemShep's badge shines far much brighter than that anyway. She's the
fan favorite, and that's an honor that she isn't going to be losing any time soon.
And on that note...

Right here, and damn proud of it.
