Actually my primary reason for not having long hair wasn't because of regulation. But because of a possible tactical hazard. Say someone yank your hair back and slit your throat. And it tends to get loose in prolonged periods of certain physical activities and may get tangled up with things or cover your eye sight atthe worst of times. So the sole reason for keeping long hair would be for the sake of looking attractive in a combat environment. Thus only a vain FemShep would have long hair.

Your assuming how someone does their hair is only to attract others. Take into consideration how easy said hairstyle is to do; you don't want anything that takes too much time and there are no options for that in the character creation. And longer hair effecting a combat situation where people are using guns is just silly. The only people who run up toyou are krogan and anything with balls to get that close isn't going to pull your hair, they are going tobe powerful enough to go to knock you down.

Anyway, any length of hair can be pulled. By the logic that hair can be pulled back to slitthe throat all hair male and female should be manitorily bald and alot of people like a variety of options in their roleplaying game. And turians must have long fringes hacked off. And Quarians aren't allowed any loose fabric.

Pulling hair is one of a massive list of ways to kill someone. If Shepard got all their hair cut off it would only take away one obscure possibility.

But if you want to get technical about all the possibilities that could happen because of hair then wear a helmet all the time to fulfill any worries you might have that someone might be able to get close enoughto be able to slit through Shepard's cyber-throat without her kicking their ass first. Shepard would not be rendered useless if someone grabbed her hair, She'd probably break the arm holding her.

It took me  well over a week and I went back over the last 10,500 posts, but I did it!

Heres zip number 5 from pages 451 - 866

http://www.mediafire...7159xby25pchtm7

File Size: 101mb
Total pics:  306

Basically this is the best of the best over those last 415 pages.   I wanted to keep the size limit to 100mb and simply create a folder with what is the very best of femshep!

Believe me it doesn't disappoint!  The quality is bloody brilliant!!  The hard part was me being a arse and cutting it down from the massive 300mb it was :P

Due to this though it tends to focus on the usual top femsheps and the members who have gone to a lot of effort to make their images something special.  That doesn't mean I don't appreciate people posting!  I just really had to be harsh this time round as you can imagine.   Poses we have seen 100 times are out and action shots, clever takes on situations, mods and uniqueness are in!

Also 90% of the work with my other zips was me trying to archive and credit everything.  I haven't done this this time else it wouldn't have happend.   Sorry about that peeps but take pride in that warm fuzzy feeling that if your sheps in the zip it was unique of the past 10-20 thousand images in this thread.

Finally the line between screenshot and artwork gets a bit blurry at times when photoshop has been used a lot. So apologies if I put your hours artwork into the screenshot section or vice versa.

So thanks for the 1,158 Downloads so far guys and girls, makes me know im not wasting my time

Speaking of hair is there a word of phrase for the way femShep's hair defies gravity or how easily thermal clips are found or why you can't jump off a three foot embankment? Something like "game voodoo" or "game logic?"

EDIT: Thanks, Captain for all your hard work!  Much appreciated!

On the subject of hairstyles and realism: I'm not particularly worried about whether Shepard violates uniform regulations. When in doubt, I find that I'm often more inclined to ask WWHSBSD: What would Han Solo's big sister do?

Wearing a helmet while having long hair is even worse... If you hair loosens up and cover your eyes, you have to take the helmet off just to brush your hair to the side. Among getting tangled, etc.

I think FemShep should have hair within regulations in ME3. Not saying bald, just at least not longer than the male Sheps. Would be more fitting since hair will only get in the way of combat. And not over-sexualized like now for the purpose of being attractive to males. Just a thought, since it's hard to picture a current female soldier (or any front-line soldier) with long hair. Just 2 cents only for realism and not like sexualized female soldiers in other media.

Actually, the military regs (US at least) for the Air Force, Army, etc. do allow women to have long hair. They have to keep it pinned up while on duty, though. So the Femshep hairstyles are military. I tried USAF ROTC through my not-overly-successful college career and the female cadets all had hairstyles similar to that during drill. The USMC might be the only one that has short hair requirements for female personnel, but I'm not certain about that.

(...and then I ended up in a chip mine, aka wafer fab and later a help desk. Oh well.)

Time to start rushing through UNC missions and such for the first play through. On your mark, set... GO!

Image IPB

I might wait until the 2nd playthrough for some more screenshots since that one will be "real" for the ME2 playthrough.

Potentially. He's already done the standard pious proclamation that it's "just his opinion" and not his manner that is attracting the tag.

Having been in army I can say that they all are just fine. I'm talking about those hair styles you can actually pick from the character editor.

^ But the ears are the only thing keeping the hair from completely covering her eyes like Samara from The Ring. If she was wearing a helmet in a vacuum, there's no way to sweep it to the side. I actually grimmaced at going into combat with that.

In the future, hair is held in place with omni-gel.  It won't move until it's melted down, and functions as well as any other armor, only more stylish.

Kaidan's hair and Shepard's hair should get together some time when they're off duty.  You know, for drinks or whatever.  :innocent:

That could be a hazard in itself. The helmet has to be custom-made to cope with the hairstyle, and an impact in the wrong area of the head would have repercussions.

That would explain it's strange plastic helmet-like appearance...

Seriously. Out of all the completely absurd things in the Mass Effect universe, we're debating the realism of...shoulder length hair getting in the way?

edit - after reading above post - oh hai there's another one below me :pinched: I say we just move the discussion along.

Well it's also a vanity thing. Hairstyles are meant only to look attactive to others. And for combat of all things.
