Keira is my own creation and based off an original character I had conceived for a different media. In actuality, I rewrote the persona of that character and subsequently brought her into the Mass Effect world. What she became therefore has gradually altered due to the game.

At first, she was to be my first and only character to kill Wrex on the notion those who oppose her die. This was changed as it no longer suited what her character had become. Frankly, she received far more depth as I progressed forward. I still have her profile to write. Mindoir is not the most... optimistic setting mind you. Thus, I want to be off my writer's block before continuing.

Avery:  Ellen Ripley's determination, Col. Samantha Carter's brains (just not tech ability) and morals, Zoe Washburn's coolness under fire and her sensuality, Col. Jack O'Neill's sense of humor.  ETA: Oh, and Honor Harrington filled in the cracks.

Meghan:  Starbuck's self destructive tendencies.  Buffy the Vampire Slayer's morals, Faith the Vampire Slayer's sexuality, Han Solo's attitude, Malcolm Reynolds' protectiveness toward his crew.

Would you rather she emulate Tifa? :P Granted, some here may fancy Tifa's hair and marital arts prowess for their Femshep.

Had to look it up.  My goodness those are some gravity defying bu-zooms.  Also the 3rd picture was this.  Lolz.

Slightly on-topic, I think.  But if I had to pick a body for femshep forealz she would look like Gina Carano.  Wowza.

I must admit, that does surprise me given her immense popularity in the gaming world. Hilariously, her breast size had to be reduced from FFVII when Square Enix greenlighted Advent Children (FFVII's movie) because they were too large for CGI to realistically portray. That said, I feel obligated to mention she is actually a far more conflicted and developed character than one might think. Sure she is fanservice but not completely shallow like the Dead or Alive cast.

Nonetheless, welcome to Japan. Tifa is... tame compared to much of what has originated from there. Google Orihime and you'll have a good laugh.

And this is way off topic here. So, I suppose leave it at that or take it to PMs, xD.

Holly is based off myself. I play her as I would act in the situations she faces. My other FemSheps are personalities I made up entirely on my own.

I usually have one Shepard that is based on myself. I do this for every game and it still amazing me how often the Renegade choices are what I would do if placed in such a position.

Physically, UJ is based on a character I created some years ago and she kind of inherited some of that character's traits.  Over multiple playthroughs and a backstory, UJ has evolved into her own person, thoush she retains a few quirks from my other character.

Funny, I often tend to go the Paragon route. But then again, my other FemShep Moira is like that dark side that I pretend doesn't exist. Heh.

Lili is somewhat based off of myself...well sort of.
Athena just a little based off of the goddess helself with a bit more b!tch thrown in.
Lia is based off of a friend of mine.
Titra is just a personality I threw together.

Here's a question. How would your femshep feel to being treated like a lady? In other words, have doors open for her, open a car door for her, tip their hat to her, take off their hat when she is in the room, pay for her dinner even if it wasn't a date, etc, etc, etc or is it a non issue? I ask this of all femsheps, but direct it mostly to those who romance Kaidan as he does seem to be the gentlemanly sort.

And what of the reverse. There are examples of flagrant harassment in the game, but what about whistles, off color comments, leering eyes, etc. How would your femshep react to being whistled at on the street?

Well I really don't know if chivalry exists much out in the open galaxy so Kathryn probably hasn't seen much of it.  If a man did open a door for her, she'd probably just think he was being poilite.  No big deal to her.

Being an Earthborn, she has had a few slobs making passes at her that didn't know she was a Red.  They found out of course. ;)

female video game character, she has normal average sized boobs!

*bakes a cake in honor of Shepard's wonderful boobs!*  :P

About FemShep/Liara.....

It just fits.  Sable and a few others already said what I have been thinking for a long time.  I will add that it's so refreshing to play through this game as a lesbian Commander who falls in love with Liara.  There aren't many positive lesbian relationships in media so the chance to play this in my game is a real treat.

A long time ago dudes used to diss the FemShep/Liara relationship whenever they could and it angered me so much.  There are plenty of games for their male hero to conquer a woman(women) but very few games where a woman can have a loving relationship.  /rant

Oh and they are definitely two women in a relationship.  Kathryn and Liara switch up roles every now and then but Kathryn is so whipped by Liara!  haha.  She feels like she owes it to the gal who saved her life and for leaving her with lonely nights of uncertainty if she'd ever get Kathryn back. :crying:

As for Shai and Liara.  Shai mostly lets Liara be the 'dom' since it's a learning process for her to be intimate.  Liara is her first.

That makes me think of a question, actually. Everyone, be sure to blame Vakarian for this post and anything resulting in it's existence.

Personality-wise what characters or people is your Shepard based off of? This can include influences to their behavior, quirks, their way of doing things, and so on.

For Morgan she has a lot of Malcolm Reynold's influence in her, ranging from her occasional snarkiness, her combat pragmatism, her resourcefulness and her overall stubbornness and determination.

Deandra, meanwhile, was based off of Morgan to be a polar opposite with some of Alex from A Clockwork Orange's sociopathic tendencies and love for violence thrown in for good measure.

Boy...way to throw a guy under the preverbal "bus"  Vanguard, lol! :P

I guess I'll throw my answer in too.   Madeline is a "mish mash" of different characters and inspirations...the great John Paul Jones and my own Great Great Grandmother being two of the most prominent.

John Paul Jones is the inspiration for her heroics, unswirving courage in battle and unwillingness give in under overwhelming odds.  There is also a dash of Audey L. Murphey in there as well for her undaunted determination to save her fellow soldiers no matter the cost.

My Great Great Grandmother Eliza Brooks was the main template for Maddy's personality.  Eliza is described in most of the family liturature as "a Firery redhead with a matching personality and of fair beauty. A real pistol of a woman"   ....Must be what my Great Great Grandfather liked about her :D

As for the rest of her personality...most of it comes from, well....me.  She is many of the things that I am, and all of what I am not.

Her dark, angry killing side...the side we see come to light to avenge her parents deaths on Mindor, is purely her character and born from the senerio itself.

There are many other references, but too many to name.

Same here. Only after i've finished playthrough i look back and see what kind of person my FemShep is/has become.

I'm so glad they never went ahead and made full prequels for Star Wars. Oh and Han shot first. (I mean really, thug pointing gun at you, already says he plans to kill you so he can take your ship? Keeps talking about it instead of pulling the trigger already? *ZOT* End of story.)

Door opening? None of my FemSheps would really mind, though Edward might try to race the guy to the next door.

(I open doors for women in real life. If I ever get objections, my standard reply will be I got there first. So there!;)

Wolf whistles? For creeps (*cou-Harkin-gh*) it might end badly. Though Edward again might find a whistler cute and start whistling at him. She's my cloud-cuckoolander FemShep. Or will be if I can get her and other Sheps through ME1.

I really wish there were height options for Shepard, I sometimes get this Huge Amazon vibe off of my FemShep.

She's way too skinny to be Amazon. To be honest femShep looks like average, out of shape female in her 30s. No muscles whatsoever, way too wide hips and long thin neck. I wish she looked like an Amazon.

Uh... okay, have you actually looked at femShep's ass lately?  That woman is toned.  I could only dream of having that muscle tone.  Just because she isn't ripped and bulging with muscle doesn't mean she's out of shape.  Yes, her body shape is very average, but that has nothing to do with being in shape, and frankly I love that about her.  Here's a kick-ass and attractive woman who's still just average in most respects.  Her her waist is a bit too thick and hips are a bit too wide and her thighs are a bit too large, she doesn't have giant boobs or a wasp waist or legs a mile long, but she is still fit and looks great.  It's awesome to see a game, of all things, admit for once that saving all life as we know it does not, in fact, require a supermodel.

I will give you the comment about her neck, though.  I don't know what the modelers were thinking, but people just don't have necks that long in real life.  Unless you're Nefertiti.

Supermodel? No, that has nothing to do with that. Supermodels are just skinny, that does not mean they are physically fit. FemShep looks great in armor, but any casual outfit makes her look bad IMHO. That is completly fault of whoever made the model. She definitely doesn't look like someone who could easily run 10 miles.
Though I do agree about the oversexualized females in games in general, femShep is a nice change.

My 2 cents on the topic of the Commander's body... Did you know the US Military will pay for breast reduction? Its a fact that big boobs get in the way in combat. and yes... her neck is WAY too long! :P
