That makes me think of a question, actually. Everyone, be sure to blame Vakarian for this post and anything resulting in it's existence.

Personality-wise what characters or people is your Shepard based off of? This can include influences to their behavior, quirks, their way of doing things, and so on.

Jane, my canon, got most of her personality from Captain John Sheridan from Babylon 5. There's little bit Susan Ivanova there too, but majority of it comes from Sheridan. You could say she's female version of Sheridan. :D Which ofc would mean that Liara is Delenn.

Jane finds out there's an AI installed in SR2.

I think all my Sheps gain something from characters in Babylon 5. How much they gain from them define what they eventually become.

Liara: Why not? Only one human commander has ever survived battle with the asari. She is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else.
Jane: *whispers* Um... I know you borrowed your Mom's threat back on Noveria, but this...
Liara: Hush.

In my head I can actually hear FemShep and Liara saying those lines and picturing them both to the scene from where the quote has been taken... Scary and quite awesome also. :D

Avery:  Ellen Ripley's determination, Col. Samantha Carter's brains (just not tech ability) and morals, Zoe Washburn's coolness under fire and her sensuality, Col. Jack O'Neill's sense of humor.

Meghan:  Starbuck's self destructive tendencies.  Buffy the Vampire Slayer's morals, Faith the Vampire Slayer's sexuality, Han Solo's attitude, Malcolm Reynolds' protectiveness toward his crew.

I feel like you forgot someone with Meghan there, but I think you covered the bases.

Alexis was never really based on anyone. Not originally anyways. I created the original character 17 years ago that she was based on, and that character has gone through many iterations over time. She's still predominantly based on how I perceive her as a character, but I certainly have picked up some influences. Mostly just Buffy for her. It's not for every aspect of her life either. They mostly came apparent once I went into ME2 (because that created some strinkingly eerie similarities for me with the way Buffy handled resurrection.)

Edit: Oh wait, I remember. You mentioned Aeryn Sun once as another one for Meghan, Sia.

Hahaha!  So can I!

That has to be the most epic quote, not just of that entire series, but in all of science fiction.

I love that quote.  I'm a huge B5 fan, I just pretend that the final season of it doesn't exist.

I tried writing down who Amelia takes after, but then realised shes so unique people will end up taking after her instead!!

Actually it just ended up me writing  down a list of people she would date   (better hide that away from Kaiden before she reaches Horizon)  :P

My  canon Jane based on me. Yeah. You may laugh, but it's true. Despite her default appearance and default biography. We have similar characters.

My second FemShep, Mikaela... Well, can't even say for sure. Most likely she based on no one. She is rough and ruthless. Well that's because of her backround story.

And Diana. She is a full paragon. But sometimes she can is easy take offense for no reason like a small girl.

Here's a question. How would your femshep feelto being treated like a lady? In other words, have doors open for her, open a car door for her, tip their hat to her, take off their hat when she is in the room, pay for her dinner even if it wasn't a date, etc, etc, etc or is it a non issue? I ask this of all femsheps, but direct it mostly to those who romance Kaidan as he does seem to be the gentlemanly sort.

And what of the reverse. There are examples of flagrant harassment in the game, but what about whistles, off color comments, leering eyes, etc. How would your femshep react to being whistled at on the street?

I'm just going to answer all these questions for my main Shepard, Hrist.

I don't think she'd be offended by a man opening a door for her or generally acting like a gentleman, she would just see as being polite, as long as it wasn't over the top. The hat stuff though she would defnintely find odd and probably result in a funny look or a sarcastic comment.

Wolf whistles, etc, she would just ignore, unless it was someone like Harkin, then they would get 'the glare' and a subtle threat.

If someone was foolish enough to try and cop a feel, limbs would be bent in to positions they weren't intended and the poor fool would be given a very clear warning not to try it again.

JamieCOTC wrote..

As to the other question, those who romance Liara, do you feel your girl has to be "the man" in that relationship?

Not at all. I see them as both being the woman, but depending on the situation either one takes the lead. Anything combat or Reaper related then Hrist's in charge, but when it comes to their personnel lives, Liara gets the final say.

This gets the boring answer i'm afraid. No one. It's all just come out of my head over the months.

I made this last night for a friend. He asked for a wallpaper with the Mako in it and wide enough to span a duel monitor display. He's not actually seen it yet, but since it contains femshep, here it is.=]

Does Equilibrium count as science fiction or just post-apocalypse action horror?

Riza's personality is sort of based on Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

She has some keen insight on others.

Though perhaps it's best Urz can't be brought on board. He might not survive Riza's idea of discipline for pets.

..and yes, Riza Shepard is going to end up with a dark-haired officer, as opposed to the annoying teasing from the anime.

I have no idea where Ella came from. Partly playing the game, partly what I wrote about her, partly the way she interacts with the other characters in my head...
She's got a bit of Zoe from Firefly, but is way much more a smart-ass. And her temper's hot instead of cold. She still loves her some pilot though. I think she might have a bit of Mercy Thompson from Patricia Briggs' urban fantasy series, though obviously without the mechanical/technical know-how. (Definitely similar in the "I will take care of this, and my people, and get out of my way while I do it" attitude.)
The ruthless streak is probably influenced from some Bujold, and Weber, and Modessitt, and what they've written on the nature of power, and leadership, and the military. And the rest is just reacting to what the game gave me. *shrugs*

edit:  She and I would both like to be Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan when we grow up, but it's never gonna happen.  Ella definitely approves of her infamous shopping trip, however.

Boobs large enough to bounce can really freaking hurt while running and through other exercises as well.

Shep's boobs seem happily secured, but watching Miranda in combat hurt me.  (I wanna know where she buys her bras).

Rory is the first FemShep where I put more thought into her character than Paragon/Renegade and gave her a custom face/name - and I say again, inspired by this thread, and I can't thank you all enough. This game is so much more fun when you think about these things as you're going.

Rory is heavily influenced by Jack, actually. I frequently wanted my more Paragon FemSheps to just look at her and say "y'know, Jack - if you confined your targets to bad guys, no one would say 'boo' to you about your violent streak, and you'd never end up in a cryo-prison again." So I thought it would be interesting to play a FemShep who has violently anti-social tendencies, but enough empathy and purpose to confine her ass-kicking to people who really do deserve it. She's not really into "redeeming" people the way a full-on Paragon is: she figures everyone in life has a choice, and people who choose to be bad guys are people she just gets to kill. Jack says she figures every time she kills someone, her chances of survival go up. Rory says everytime she kills some bad guy, the chances of some innocent person having a peaceful life instead of ending up dead or enslaved go up.

Rory sees the world as "good guys", "bad guys", and "people the good guys save from the bad guys". She'll go to the wall for the good guys, and she'll put the bad guys up against a wall and execute them.
