Which is irritating, since IIRC, Sinclair wasn't "wooden" he was "shellshocked" and it showed in his early first season actions to the point where Garibaldi called him on it. He didn't magically improve afterwards, which was also good, but he did do some things like, oh, help Garibaldi play a practical joke on Ivanova.

Ivanova:"I slept through breakfast?!"
Sinclair: "Problem, Commander?"
Ivanova: "No sir, I've got to get going... Ivanova to C&C I know I'm late, but-" *rushes off*
*Sinclair picks up his breakfast and prepares to move to a new seat*
Sinclair: *to Garibaldi* "I'll notify your next of kin..." *moves off*
Garibaldi: 4, 3, 2, 1....
Ivanova: *offscreen* AUGH! GARIBALDI! YOU'RE A DEAD MAN!

Hm. Hairstyles? Whatever seems to match the character well enough, I guess.

Erica Shepard started ME1 as Ashley lite. She wasn't certain about aliens at first, especially Turians, but in the end each member of the crew earned her respect. She and Tali got off on the wrong foot as Erica blamed her people for the Geth/Quarian war. Shepard settled down and apologized later. Erica and Liara REALLY got off on the wrong foot and she spent most of the game arguing with the Asari over her "mindf*cks", obsession and constant prattling on. After Liara's mother was killed, however, Shepard eased up. Ultimately, Liara proved herself and despite her continued prattling nature, the two became friends. Wrex was a Krogan and so Erica respected his strength. Garrus earned her trust when the two went after and killed Dr. Hart.

Erica and Ashley were good friends.  It was hard for Erica to leave her behind on Virmire. Kaidan, however is too good to be true and definitely too good for her.  She is glad he is beside her, nonetheless.  He is a port in the storm and, when she needs it, a moral compass.  She ended the game more of a paragon than planned due to his influence. Though she hates to admit it she thinks that she is in love with him. 

Erica does not like Cerberus and is convinced she has a control chip in her brain as she tried several times to shoot Miranda to no avail.


Erica: Can I shoot Miranda every time she supersedes my orders?
TIM: I can't allow that.
Erica: Can I shoot Miranda and Jacob every time they say something stupid?
TIM: I'm sorry, Shepard. I can't allow that either.
Erica: You know, you're not much different from the Turian Councilor and look what happened to him.
