I never thought about that.  You could be right.  To be honest, I like Jacob.  He's a good guy, who tries to do the best he can.  It's also obvious he's not perfect.  I like those kinds of characters.  The romance does seem to come off a little one-sided, now that I think about it.  Definitely some good points and ideas.

Infertility is a hell of a strain on a couple.  Especially if children are wanted. 

I have a Meghan save with him as the LI, but I'll be giving him his own femShep.

Wow I never thought about that. It actually makes sense now as to why he'd say itin the first place.

 On the subject of Jacob: I have romanced him once, with a throwaway Shep on my Xbox.  I found the whole thing to be perfectly fine, as I was going into it knowing what would happen.  However, the unintentional flirtiness Shep exudes until you specifically friendzone him is kind of offputting.  In my last playthrough, I went and talked to him after the SM having not romanced him and Shep and Jacob did this ridiculous brohug thing that made me laugh so hard I forgot to spam numpad1.  Next playthrough is fast approaching, so I guess it will happen then.  Still, the idea of FemShep and Jacob calling each other bro or brah or something makes me giggle.  GIGGLE.

While I don't think Jacob is devaluing FemShep with that line, I don't think it has anything to do with the infertility as no man would be 'good enough' to impregnate the infertile Miranda, including MaleShepard (gawd, I hope they don't have romanced Miranda get pregnant by Shepard.).

I think the line is mainly to stroke the ego of MaleShep players and they kind of just left it in there with FemShep too without taking into consideration the implications it would have in that situation.

I remember someone wrote a one shot fic where Femshep andJacob actually went around spilling people's drinks on the citadel and Jacob had a line like "Yeah, what son?! what'cha gonna do, She's a Spectre!" it was pretty ridiculous.

Uh... that's not what I meant. I meant that not being able to have children is a hell of a hurdle to overcome for some couples, not that he was expecting to knock her up.  Some can't handle it and break up.  And if that can be one interpretation to that line, it makes him humble, not relegating FemShep to second class.  

I agree why they have the line in there for maleShep,  but in order for it not to sound like an insult to FemShep, another meaning needs to be found.

@Skaldfish: Excellent post. I agree with everything you said.

On Jacob. The guy does seem to get the short end of the stick for most things. I don't dislike the character, there's nothing from with him really, apart from being a bit dull. I don't tend to use him much on missions either, as his skills aren't that useful, especially on higher difficulty settings.

I also never speak to the guy, apart from to trigger his loyalty mission. And the only reason I don't talk to him is because of the way the line from femshep is delivered to start the conversation. It doesn't fit my Shepards to speak to him like that, so unfortunately he gets ignored.

Due to her fellow FemSheps' unanimous comments on how she looks like an Infiltrator, Marion hang up her Claymore and cleaned up her old Widow, and recalibrated her awesome omnitool programs such as the Geth Shield Boost, Neural Shock, and Tactical Cloak.



Of all the weapons, FemShep is hottest reloading the Widow (this has nothing to do with romancing Kaidan and then leaving him to blow up on Virmire).

I love everything about this pic!  The geth shield glowy effect, the big ol' gun, and the wide-eyed expression on her face!

I'm starting to like this worker's dress more and more. If you'll look at the exibition item #2 on the right you will see why (Sheps armour has similar features).

They should. I really liked the Onyx heavy armor and the old breather looked cool. With slightly larger visor it would be awesome.

I like the glowing orange lights.
