@Mr. Vakarian

Gorgeous! As always! I especially like the one of Kallen. Noah and Kaidan look so cute, too.

I've been trying to make a new Shepard for a month. Hasn't really been working, I have a dozen abandoned Shepards lying in recycle bin hell. So since I just want to play, and got the urge to Soldier I made the brunette "evil" twin to my canon Shepard. Just switched her hair color and usual armor and voila. I'll just pretend it's an alternate universe where she's not a redhead and went renegade.

Image IPB

Also, I only just thought of making the regular brown eyeliner darker through Gibbed. Definitely like it more than the super black smokey eyeshadow/eyeliner combo.

You know, I found that I can edit eye makeup color with gibbed... but not lip color. Does anyone else have this issue? I wanted to do something similar, make a darker brown eye with a more peach-colored lip for one of my FemSheps.

Wow I didnt recognise her at first glance with her dyed hair and lighter armour.  :)  I know your pain there though. Making a new femshep now is kind of a daunting process. I would like to do it but I know its going to be many hours of tweaking.  But the "evil twin" idea works and did it myself actually.  I have two versions of Laura Shepard one Paragade and one very Renegade.  Its actually pretty fun have two distinct versions. :happy:

So I decided to screw around with all the vector parameters in Gibbed, and figured out how to change all the makeup. Going to do some work with MacKenzie and post it soon. I'll try and make a little guide and post it in the modding thread.

@Crash

Thanks! I used a photoshop brush and adjusted the opacity to get the biotic effect on Thane.

Well THAT'S disappointing. My Rhea femShep has gone from 4.5 in the faces database ratings down to 3-and-a-sliver. I thought she would be better liked than that.

If any of you have any pointers on how to improve her face, I'd welcome them. I know to a large degree it's personal preference, so I wonder what criteria people tend to use when they rate a face. Is it just "I like it / I don't like it, but I can't exactly tell you why" or is it based more on objective factors like realism, expressiveness,  symmetry of features, etc.?

Maybe my perspective is skewed. Before I got into software development, I was a graphic artist and portraitist (it's a long story...). So maybe I'm not in touch with what most people want/like/expect.

Anyway... Open to anyone's thoughts here. Are there objective criteria for judging a FemShep face? If so, what do you think they are? Or maybe it's completely subjective. If so, I wonder if there are common threads. What characteristics do you like to see in a FemShep face?

that is DARling. i keep waiting for him to lean over and snuggle her. mr. v, you really did a nice job with kaidnan. his hair looks sort of how the devs probably meant it to when they did the concept. LOVE the one of kallen. she looks like she's about to whip out a pistol, in spite of the cute hat.

@ aislinn - i LIKE it!  thane's half-look back at her is telling.

you know, i find the femshep ME2 romances interesting, because unlike the relationships in ME1, and the male-shep romances in ME2, femshep completely initiates all of the romance in me2. i mean, tali, miri, jack all hint at maleshep (or femshep if you mod) and while i think garrus and thane (and jacob) do end up really caring for femshep, it's a shame the writers/devs felt they had to keep any attraction or hints of future relationships completely confined to the romance trigger. i feel like there is a lot of character depth we miss out on seeing because of that.

again, i really feel like the writing was primarily aimed at immature teenage boys, who would love to see a hot girl in heels and a buoyant bra hit on their maleshep, but would freak (as many did in me1), to see anyone at all hit on their femshep. hm, maybe i'm being unfair there, but that was my read. me, i find when people hit on my femshep, it's like "but of course." and if it's someone nice like liara or kaidan, i smile, and if it's someone like harkin, i just let her singularity him to kingdom come.

@ skald - i've noticed that all female faces get rated lower than the males on the whole. some people think the pretty ones are too cute to be a marine and others vote them down if they don't look like a doll. some vote down ones that look too "generic" and others vote down ones that are too unique. i wouldn't take it too personally, as many of the best shepards out there (imo) got voted really low. i mean, i've seen people vote down the barak obama shepard just because they don't like current politics. seriously, it's still a great design, but they just can't separate out their own biases. so again, i wouldn't take it too hard, since your shep looks awesome, whatever people there say.

For me: I, and only i, have to like my Shepard. I don't design my characters for anyone else. If they don't like it, that's okay. As long as i am happy. And i also don't need to have the "perfect Shepard", to be honest. There's always people out there wo don't like what you're doing. =]

Exactly what she said. I make sure that I'm happy with the way my Shepards look. Because they are mine. I don't expect her to be the favorite of everyone else's, but as long as she fits the image I created, I don't care about the rest.

I know how you feel.
I haven't finished my infiltrator run with Natalia, but a couple of weeks ago tried to make a blonde shep. Came up with nothing and ended up deleting the saves. I'll have to start from scratch.
A new shep gets harder every time.

I have the same issues with one FemShep. I've not only been fiddling with the looks (although now I'm happy with them), but I've been planning on changing her name for the third time. So, I might just make another, but change up some looks instead.

You shouldn't worry about that.
Yeah, there's the popularity thing and whatever idea we get from the media regarding what a "beautiful" woman is. But still is entirely subjective.
Those sheps are yours. If you're happy with them, then it's all good.

Yup, rename the folder with saves, rename save with gibbed, load game, save, reload, and you're done.

@skaldfish: play with the character you want. If you feel you need changes, change. If not, don't. If someone don't like your Shep, they can just
