I don't know what PASTE magazine is, but it had a neat little head-to-head comparrison of "BroShep" and "femShep"

nice. again, i like meer. i think he falls into the background for if you're wanting to play ME with yourself as starring male. me, though, i like hale's femshep with all her own character and guts and glory.

and i would so love to post the gun shot, but i never pull the renegade option on that krogan. i guess that makes me the only one who listens to his long-windedness.

have another gun shot instead:

Shep just doesn't have the time for this. And he was about to get killed anyway. ^_^

Question ...

For those who have more than one femShep, if the faces are vastly different, does the voice sound different to you even though it is the exact same line? Let me explain. I've got two femSheps now, one Paragon and the other Renegade and obviously they sound different spouting off specific paragon/renegade lines. However, as I was playing Erica in ME2, I swear she sounded different than UJ even though it was the exact same line. The only time they sounded identical when during the Tali Loyalty quest as the face is covered up so many lines are similar. I'm not under any delusion that the lines are different, but feel it is a trick of the brain. It's an illusion that the lines sound different because the faces are different. Anyone else have that experience or am I just crazy?

Does anyone know how to get rid of the quick bar thingy permanently? I never use it, such a hassle.

Command="ShowHud | show scaleform"

That hides all UI HUD elements including conversation wheel. But permanently? I don't know.

oh, nice one . thanks

or is it that kyrie doesn't consider fair exploiting the situation like that and gives the krogan his chance ?

/at gun point snip

Well most of the gun shots were from talking to Vasir, since Bioware makes it so easy to get all sorts of reactions for it (I have about 20 shots of Kallen myself) and I was so horrified the second time I saw him and let him finish (the first time I said  , and I kid you not, "shiny interrupt, gotta cut him off!") that the krogan would go so far as to do that to the other species so now I just shut him up immediatly so he can burn to a crisp.Image IPB Pesonally I'd have my sheps run up there and beat him to death while all his cronies just sit there watching (and listening)Image IPB if only there was a means where people could animate their headcannons in game. those would be some awesome screenies Image IPB

I was thinking about this other day and giving myself a major headtrip.  I can't really explain it, the femshep's I end up sticking with look "right" with Hale's voice coming out of them.  IE, my femshep 'Lena' I think ended up looking really gorgeous but I scrapped her because the voice felt wrong.

So I have a few different femsheps, and they do sound like 'themselves.'  Even though I know in my head they sound exactly the same.  I can even picture them talking to each other with Hale's voice and it doesn't seem weird because it's 'their' voice.  Ahhhh.  It's weird.

i imagine her yawning and checking to see how her heat sinks are holding up. she has a temper, but a long-winded krogan is not even close to setting her off. things that set her off are:

* the turian councilor
* cerberus
* tIM
* kelly being chirpy and/or "helpful"
* cerberus
* slavers
* cerberus

suffice it to say, she spends much of ME2 irritated.

@ Ad - oh, then mebbe that's why i don't have that shot yet. i have yet to finish this playthrough with kyrie. mebbe i'll play for a while now...:bandit:

Not weird at all. I specifically designed my femSheps to all look right with Hale's voice. No matter which one I'm playing it's that femshep's voice.

I'm really impressed by the brilliant screenies and wide-ranging variety of FemSheps in this thread. Also inspired by SageQueen's blog to try out some flycam...happily zooming all around the docking bay yesterday, hopefully that will translate into some actual screenshots soon!

For now though, here's a gun...

And this is my Aki Shepard, who is approximately a year old this month and who I'm taking through ME1 again right now with a very slightly modified look - basically just gave her a straight nose, but I have to admit I love her even more now Image IPB

Yup. I know exactly what you mean. B)

On a similar topic, related to the way one perceives FemShep, but nothing to do with the voice. I've found it fascinating that different face shapes, sizes and hairstyles can make FemShep look either really tall and slender or a lot shorter - and I mean in casual clothes, in particular - , even though I know they're all the same size... (obviously with armour, different armour types alone can make a big difference in that regard). I'll post some examples of what I mean later.

@ lianna - i LIKE that shep. she is very unique and very realistic-looking. i loved how ME1 had so many people of mixed racial backgrounds and was sad they moved away from it for me2. your aki seems to fit with that me1 trend.

@ jade - SO true. it's funny how for kyrie, her body seems to me to be taller than average, slightly slim, but i see other sheps and they just seem petite - when i know it's the same model. funny how that is.

i think armor is part of the illusion, too. this is why i hacked on the old catsuits, since the heavier armor just made her seem shorter and more muscular to me, and that didn't fit the way it'd thought of her from me1

Definitely.  All those contribute to a persona that identifies a particular femshep and can give clues into their personality.

Hair is probably the hardest part in making a new femshep for me because the options are so limited.  I think the lack of hair options is the biggest limiting factor of the CC and a large part of the problem with 'all femsheps looking alike' because of how much influence they have on how a face is perceived.  Kelly and the 'sexy' hair are 2 of the biggest offenders, even femsheps with different features tend to look similar with these.

The options we have also IMO tend to make faces look very young.

Example; my newest femshep Caroline.  This is part of a WIP but illustrates what a difference hair makes.
How I picture her in my head versus her in-game counterpart:

Image IPB

@sagequeen - Indeed, the old lighter armors are a part of how I picture Kyrie.  Tough yet graceful which also ties in to her class.  Armor, clothes, all that visual stuff make up a total image which sends a visual queue as to what type of character it is.  I also see a lot of people color coordinating based on alignment (lighter colors and blues for paragons) which is probably along the same lines.

Hot Damn! The WIP looks amazing! I agree with how we see our femsheps. I see Kallen as having hair down to her shoulders or back in her ponytail, but witht eh cyber babe she wanted to get a hair cut and let it grow back. (dramatic reaction to ashley upsetting her at Horizon maybe?)

Thanks. *Nerd Alert* It's for the OC Inspiration Meme. You guys should do it too. I'm gritting my teeth waiting for the next DLC to start another playthrough.

There is a certain amount of suspension of disbelief with a videogame. Like, Shep's hair wouldn't be up in the shower or in love scenes, or whatever. It's neat with Gibbed people can change it on the fly to sort of make up for it.
