Oh, it's random-latin dummy text. Loren Ipsum, blah blah, generated block of text for testing websites (and not only) readability.

It's latin, a typical placeholder text.

I knew it was going to get hidden on the other page. :pinched:

Are you sure? ;)

They say that when you want something done right, do it yourself, well, that’s what we are trying to do w/ femShep.com. Since BW has neglected their own creation in ads and videos, we would like a place beyond the BSN to promote her, share pics, fanfics, videos and modding info. We have a direction and a purpose and art, even. What we don’t have is a coder. We need someone w/ coding skills in CSS and databases to help put the site together. This will be on a volunteer bases. If you are interested, please get in touch w/ Ryn or myself for further details. Thanks!

Whats the bandwidth on there Jaime? I was thinking about having a massive picture gallery which people can upload their images too. Well if its not to complicated to do. The pictures can then be tagged to make peoples stuff easier to find. For example searching for Kathryn Shepard, Collector Base, sweet pose ect.

Potentially we can hotlink from the site onto here as well. (?)

XHTML and CSS is not a problem for me so technically something like that in the mock up would be a piece of cake. However I would need the graphics.

We have the art, though we may need a couple more link images made.  We are looking at eFiction and Coppermine as addons for the fanfic and photo repositories.

Sent you a PM w/ relevant info.  Trying to keep this out of the thread as possible and still get stuff done.

Background

Hrist grew up in an orphanage after her parents were murdered by members of a street gang when she was still a baby. She ended up living on the streets at the age of eleven when she ran away after developing weak biotic powers from element zero exposure in an accident she had suffered a year earlier. Life on the streets was tough for her until she befriended a boy named James, who was a few years older than her. The pair were inseparable, treating each other as if they were brother and sister, always watching each others backs. They eventually joined the 10th Street Reds were Hrist was used as a runner, moving small packages of drugs around the city. James protected Hrist from the worst parts of gang life as best he could which often brought him in to conflict with those above him.

When James was killed, Hrist was devastated. She was consumed by a desire for revenge and learned how to fight. She became more involved in the gang's activities and became one of the Red's best soldiers. She would have been consumed by gang life had she not overheard someone bragging about a couple they had killed and the amount of credits they had scored. Reminded of how her own parents had been killed, she gave up on her quest for revenge and vowed to help protect people. She left the Reds the night before her eighteenth birthday, sleeping outside the local Alliance recruitment office and signing up the next morning as soon as the doors opened.

Akuze was another turning point in her life. A young rookie called Spencer, only a month out of basic had been assigned to her unit when they landed on Akuze. She had liked the kid from the start, taking him under her wing and looking out for him. When the Thresher Maw attacked over half her unit was wiped out instantly. Spencer was caught by the creatures acidic spit, severely injuring him. The rest of her unit wiped out, Hrist half dragged, half carried the injured Rookie back to the evac point while keeping the Thresher Maw at bay. By using mines to create a series of timed explosions she drove the huge creature away for a couple of minutes each time and eventually made it back to the shuttles. Her efforts were in vain though. Spencer died in her arms from his injuries as the shuttle lifted off. She refused to let the events on Akuze break her and vowed to do better. She would not lose another soldier under her command until Eden Prime.

Personal Record

Romance: Liara. Stayed faithful.

Why Shepard and her LI are such a great match: Hrist had never fallen in love before she met Liara. She had a few casual flings with both men and women, during the early part of her Alliance career, but none of them were ever serious. After surviving Akuze and becoming an N7 operative she was too focused on her work for romantic involvements.

Liara was different though. Her personality, honesty and interest in the real Hrist was something she found difficult to ignore. Liara's awkwardness around people was something she found to be endearing and a breath of fresh air from the usual military types. She was always a voice of reason and support in even the most difficult situations and someone Hrist came to depend on. Something she had not done since her days living on the streets of Earth. Since joining the Alliance, Hrist had always fought to protect others, but Liara gave her something personal, someone special to fight for as well.

Best Friend: If Hrist had to pick one person to have her back other than Liara, it would be Garrus. She trusts him and has a great deal of respect for him. The fact that he looks out for her and is prepared to stand by her side in any situation makes him one of the closest friends she has ever had.

Personality: Growing up on Earth showed Hrist the ugliest side of people and she has nothing but disdain for those who treat other people's lives as a commodity, or as tools to be used to advance their own goals and then
thrown aside when no longer useful. She will always give people one chance to accept responsibility for their actions and face the consequences. She would rather turn criminals over to the authorities than hand out vigilante justice but is prepared to do so if necessary. Anyone who tries to bribe her or threaten her will find to their own cost that she is not someone to mess with. She has no problem resorting to her gun when her patience is tested by those who have done wrong and words won't, or can't resolve a situation. She treats her friends and those under her command as if they were her family and she will fight against the odds if needs be to make sure they survive.

Three fun facts:
1) Has a small 'J' tattooed on the inside of her right forearm in memory of someone very special to her.
2) Is fluent in both English and Spanish.
3) Sings in the shower. Badly.

Nice stuff there, Akari. I couldn't do anything like that myself. Always sucked in writing. -_-

Grunt with his awesome stare keeps my Shep safe. She looks so vulnerable in ME2 for some reason...

Gah, Akari and ELE are going to force me to do something similar for Jessica.  Their work is just too inspiring!  Quit turning the spigots on those creative juices you two!

Oh, man, you guys. Every time I visit this thread, I am just so completely inspired by everyone's talents and dedication. I love this community. I just finished my second FemShep run in ME1 with different choices from my canon. I liked how different she was and really look forward to starting the Garrus romance in ME2 this week. Peeked in this thread and was blown away by all the new stuff people have been sharing. You guys are awesome. AWESOME. Thrilled to learn about the FemShep site being built and omg, Akari, your logo for Hrist is just mindblowing. ILOVEIT.

I poked around the FemShep site (woo!). Just one question -- is it preferred that we wait until the site launches officially before we start registering on the forums?

Wow, thanks for the complements guys. I wasn't sure about posting it to be honest. I haven't written anything like that since I was at school, (which was quite a few years ago now) and i'm not particularly confident when it comes to my writing abilities.

Have to say though it's because of this thread that I even wrote it in the first place. Hrist was just a name and a face before I read all the excellent character backgrounds people here have created.

I can't take full credit, I was Inspired by the awesome logo you made for Caroline. :)

I wish I could do photo manips like the ones you create, but It's not something I'm any good at so my stuff tends to be a combination of shapes, fills and different blending options. Thank you though.

A proper image upload service might help TinyPic let's you upload images without registering which can be handy for just trying to show something real quick. Otherwise something like Photobucket might be a better choice allowing you to have one single place to keep pictures.
