Calling Dr. T'Soni
And some Shadow Broker DLC action.

Urgh... I hate long days at campus. I slept only 5 or so hours, makes me feel sick. <_<

Nice selection there Aislinn. Eowyn is/was an almost unconcious influence. It was just so long between occasions I'd read or watched LotR, that she was forgotten.

I'm on my second play-through and I decided to give FemShep a chance. Wow is all I have to say, the voice acting is by far superior to the male shep and it has completely changed the game for me, which is a good thing. I really liked ME2 the first time, but playing as FemShep has added a new dimension, I am no longer listening to a mono-tone Shepard. I am definitely a fan of FemShep!!!

a few "iconic" spots though:{snip}
- when shep first exits the shuttle on freedom's progress - wait for eyes to "glow" and avoid getting falling particles in the shot
- when talking to miri before freedom's progress, you can get a very nice "sneer" - very good for renegade femsheps
hope that helps.

ahhhhh so there is more romance specific content. I can't remember if Jacob or Garrus get any. (probably not for Jacob at leastAislinn Trista wrote...

If you romance Thane and do LotSB, this letter will be in his dossier. Apparently the Shadow Broker got a hold of it from his personal drive.
Holly got this letter. It's something she wasn't supposed to see until after his death.
It's an interesting sort of thing. When I was younger, I used to imagine the main character as myself in RPGs; a self-projection of my ideal, basically. So I'd try to model the character how I wanted to look, etc. I suspect a lot of people live vicariously through game characters. On this basis, a male playing a female seems, well, strange, as you put it, because if you are the main character, what does that imply?lastpatriot wrote...

I stopped thinking that way as I got older, for whatever reason. I tend to think of main characters in their own right, designing them to appeal to me rather than to be me. I guess you could, in a cynical sense, say I've become more voyeuristic. Also, most of the time I feel like female characters make the narrative a little more compelling, even if it's solely because they're more the exception from the norm.

FWIW, while I know that historically RPGs descend from the ...assuming control of this form... kinds of games where "heavy" role identification was in many ways the goal, something about the ME series has enabled me to disconnect from that notion and enjoy the experience more like I would enjoy a really good book or movie. Except oh so much better, because I can explore all the impacts of a tweak here or an explosion there, or getting just really sick of Aria T'Loak today, or deciding "screw the Heretics" on another.Sentox6 wrote...

I find different genres attract the this group more. Try mentioning that you (as a male) play a female Spartan in Halo Reach on the forums and prepare for an influx of... well, I think 'immaturity' is the kindest word.

Of course, ME2 adds the VA issue into the mix, which tends to brush all these philosophical concerns aside if there's a big difference. I haven't been into the ManShep thread, but I assume that IAA award the title talks about is short for "I Ain't Acting".

In Finnish language we don't had "he" or "she", it's always "hän" regardless of gender.sagequeen wrote...

This. so this. i started kyrie as an just an avatar, as me, - but she sure didn't stay that way. somewhere along the umpteen playthroughs, she became her own character - well, it was probably as soon as hale opened her mouth and said a badass line. now i see things in her that i "gave" her from myself, but there is a lot more of other people in her - or just of herself.
huh, i think i may have to do that inspiration meme after all.
@ aislinn re: thane's letter.
that is lovely. at first i really rolled my eyes at the "poetic assassin," thing, but thane pulls it off. it's the voice, really. and the glimpse of sculpted green chest. (ha!)
why oh WHY could they not have had something on the VS? while this makes me sorta happy that the SB wasn't watching in on our dear kaidan/ashley, on the other hand, it really, really drives me nuts. seriously! bailey got a dossier and a frickin' spycam vid. is there nothing for kashley? like, a bazillion false starts to the email he/she sent?
*sigh*
actually, i think what annoyed me more was the slip-up that referred to shepard as a "he" in the SB's files. it was a sentence that could easily have been restructured to be gender-neutral, too. ah well.

English is just a pain. Not because of fundamental issues with its structure, but just the variety of paradoxes, phonetic anomalies, etc.Tup3xi wrote...

I mean, what other language lets you say something like "there's no time like the present to present the present"?

It is actually a modification of the normal gown that you can get but instead it has a black/reflective color to it. The mod was created by PhoenixofThunder and can be found at the link below. You will need to edit your Cini file to allow for all the additional casuals/colors. Once you add it, make sure you go back and run the ME2ini fixer or your game won't load. There are instructions in his download if you don't know how to do that. Also, if you need help, please feel free to ask me or anyone on the moders forums.

English IS really weird. But, having learned it since birth, I don't notice its inherent oddities. Only once you learn another language to you realize just how unstructured it is.
