Part of me wants to object that there are also girls who are relatively uninterested in character development... but yeah, the deck is stacked against me on this one. *sigh*

lol. well, good point. i find it not just character development, but consistency. shepard is not a stupid person. to not reflect on the only scientificly recorded resurrection EVER? - makes shepard seem a little dim, imo.

Half afraid to try that. Might turn into a parody stolen from Monty Python's Life of Brian.

Shep: You're all individuals!
Crowd: Yes, we're all individuals!
Loner: ...I'm not.
Crowd: Shhh!

Besides, I like the role-playing and the pretty explosions. Win-win!

To be honest, though, I don't like the first half hour of this game, and I don't like the last half hour either. Everything inbetween? Brilliance.

see, i liked the suicide mission alright. even the baby t2000. and the first bit is okay too. i just hate that you never a get a straight answer about shep's death and how they brought her back. either a) they've got soemthing crazy up their sleeves or B) the writers don't know themselves.

a, i can look forward to. b just makes me go <_<

"We used the Amazing Power of Cutscenes to bring Shepard back."
"Oh yes... that explains everything..."

Edit:
No access to view videos here at work. Can at least add a ToP FemShep with pretty explosions!

With his insane degree of patience for calibrations, Garrus doesn't strike me as an instant-gratitude kind of guy.

Hahaha, maybe.  His LotSB dossier Visor Specs makes me think otherwise, though.  :D

I don't see any of my Sheps other than Moira and Holly being gamers.  Mostly because they are tech junkies.

Nice pic of Inta'sei. Also, nice new avi.

Oh, and if anybody has good pics of the ship/apartment/cabin etc. I could borrow. I need some for when I try photoshop. So far, I suck. But, am really trying. Will post when I'm done...if I don't give up, or if it really sucks.

I have a stash of screenshots--pls PM me what you are looking for specifically and I can upload them for you.

Here's a femShep fact that I have on the brain.  She is constantly ever so slightly cross-eyed.  Subtle enough to drive me a little crazy and the first thing I usually have to fix.

I wish I had some new screenies or video's of my canon Femshep, but Kallen is on Vacation (miranda is mysteriously missing from my other shepard's teams >.>) and I'm giving her a break so I can tweak around my other PT's (killing the council, killing Conrad, adding cameo's, etc) and rediscovering characters and obscure dialouge choices, like Jacob's more cordial, "can't talk now" dialogue, getting yelled at by the gun salesman on the citadel, and the Paragon dialogue before Grunts rite (even my uber paragons, show their badside to Uvenk) ogtta love getting the most out of your games!!!!!

I'm not sure if it's strictly cross-eyed (see Ash/Kaiden on Horizon for that). Rather it's that - at least for some of the eyes - the iris/pupils are set quite close to the nose side. There's a lot more of the whites on the 'outside', so to speak.

Another pet peeve of mine is that the game seems to encourage you to set the eyes way too far apart. This leads to a secondary annoyance during face creation: when I spend so long on a specific aspect of the face that I can't decide what even looks good anymore.

is it weird that whenever I see your caroline shep I automatically think of the outkast song "Roses" ? since the first words of the song are "CAROLIIIIINE!" (caroline).Posted Image

Well, whatever the reason it's a little maddening.  You know, relatively.  For the 'Commanders' manip on the OP I had to repaint the eyes for every femShep.  It's just subtle enough that it makes a face look not quite right.  My eyes!  Posted Image

That's pretty much exactly how I play Trista. =-) No stasis, though.  It's such a ridiculous power.

It's bugged and you get an even bigger damage bonus than you're supposed to.  Which is why that person is one-shotting YMIR Mechs and Scions.  On Insanity.

:P

Arrghghkkkgk. I'm all for videos of FemShep, but that damn song has to be the most common stock "I want to avoid copyright violation" choice on YouTube. It's universally reviled. Please, anything but that.

I think there's a saying from various special forces units of the United States military that goes like:

"If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'..."

IIRC, jwalker has some video of a FemShep using Stasis to insta-kill the two scions on the Collector Ship. They will be left behind by the platforms they are riding on and fall to their deaths.

That is nuts.  I don't care about the bugged bonus damage, sniping the heads of those Ymir mechs the instant the stasis wears off and they pitch backwards is raw, blinding skill.

I envision Jessica as being that good, but I'm not.  It's a wierd disconnect that my character is supposed to be better than I have the ability to play her.  ME2 on Insanity was impossible for me till I hacked it to be easier (of course, I had previously hacked the game to be more like ME1, with regenerating shields and whatnot, making Insanity literally impossible until I tweaked stuff).  Still, putting shots while moving on a teeny target like that, while I can do it sometimes, is not consistent.  Jessica, as a sniper prodigy, would be able to do it all day if I wasn't screwing things up.

I wasn't saying that person didn't have skill.  They're definitely an awesome shot.

What I'm saying is that I myself, personally, don't like to use exploits.

The headshotting of YMIR mechs is impressive, Stasis' overpowered nature notwithstanding. I think this person did something to hack the Mattock rifle as well, though, as it fires insanely quickly in that video. Either that or they can really just click that fast.

Really? Not that I intend to disparage the video creator in the least, but it's really just practice.

Mind you, I've played FPSs with a fairly competitive bent online for a long time, so that skews my viewpoint. If you want to see something nuts, check out videos like this. As a great man once said:

Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living, that's something else.

ME2's mechanics aren't really designed to reward raw skill, on the whole. It's really about a systematic application of strategy, provided you have passable aim and reflexes.

PC Gamer US has compiled a list of the 15 things they'd like to see in Mass Effect 3. Some very good points about combat and such, but what really got me was the fact that they did comment on wanting Shepard to be able to reflect more on things, as well as fewer squaddies so they feel like family, not employees.

Also, they put Female Shepard boxart as no. 14 :D

Linky

And uhm, on a personal note I rather like the apt description they give of Sheploo

#5 made me laugh.

The love interests in ME2 are like the Dr Evil henchman who caves if you ask him anything three times.

I agree with pretty much the whole list. Specially #14. 14, 14, 14. We're more like to get every other item on the list combined than that one, but dreams are free.

Good article. I really didn't have issues with the thermal clip system, though. I actually even prefer it for some strange reason. But I agree about the team not feeling like they even cared for each other much, even in ME1 aside from certain cases.

I love your Sheppie, Akari. She's beautiful. As rynluna said, flycam shots are awesome!

Speaking of FemShep, I find myself growing envious of LadyHawke fans. I get the impression that we can only dream of FemShep enjoying the same amount of attention lavished upon her as that of LadyHawke.

I remain hopeful that FemShep will receive the recognition that she deserves for ME3, but looking at DA2 makes me realise what could have been.

*sigh* : (

Lady Hawke is exceptionally cute. Those animations, the smile, everything. I'm crossing my fingers for ME3 FemShep. Because if it doesn't turn out the same, I'm gonna have to cut someone.

I think that may actually be one of the barriers. I know some folks like the default femshep "look and feel," so please don't be offended, but I just think she looks way too waifish and, well, unpleasant -- especailly compared to LadyHawke. I wasn't really groovin' on FemShep until I stopped the first game, deleted it, and created a character I could stand to watch.
