...Actually you do see something similar in the beginning at Ostagar. One of the Templars tells you not to go near the mages because "They're in the fade and need to concentrate" (or something similar I forget the exact dialogue). :P

Reread what I wrote.  I said exactly that you see the mages who are in the fade.  However, oddly enough you don't see a bunch of other mages standing around them performing some strange ritual.  All you see are the ones who are actually in the fade.  Which would lend support to the idea that they don't need to stand around performing some complex time consuming chant.  They cast the spell that sent the other mages to the fade and then went about their business.

You never see the ritual that sends them there.

The ones actually in the fade and completely vulnerable while so. The Templars are guarding them. And that's just to go to the fade. Whose to say the spell casting didn't have this same moment of vulnerability as well? Every time a mage casts a spell he/she leaves him/herself wide open to an attack while doing so no matter how long the spell takes to cast.

What's your point?  Nobody is going into the fade here.

True but all rituals are always done in secure locations. That doesn't really say one thing or another though. Hm...

Still the whole taking the someone not destroyed archedemon's soul thing is looking more and more implausbile.

Also: Yay on DR not being forced canon! Thank God!

*arches brow* except if you have the RD ending she doesn't have any of Loghain's blood if you kick her out prior so that is a dud.

True but arrogance usually lends to one thinking they don't *need* back up plans. Light was a genius but his arrogance blew up in his face.

Yes Loghain's blood would be harder to get, far from impossible.  We already know morrigan can turn into a swarm of insects.  Why not a mosquito?

Well, if the writers decide to use the god child then I guess Morrigan just didn't let her arrogance overcome her intellect.

...a mosquito? A. When would Morrigan have had the time to study a mosquito and its "soul" and B. Why would she have even turned into a mosquito prior to this?  Then what happens when she turns back into a human? =] Like I said...seriously stretching.

Seriously, your pointless criticisms are getting annoying.

Morrigan lives in a swamp, she´s probably spend more time with mosquitos than with everything else...

Also, she CAN turn into insects, that´s a fact. It is highly probable that these insects can suck blood anyways.

Actually go read his posts in context.  That's not what he said.

Though I do kind of hope they don't chose to follow the god-child story arc, we won't know until we find out more.

Alright then genius she sucks the blood and transforms and now its in her stomach. Now What? <_<

Also you can easily ignore my criticisms seeing as how I'm not talking to you. ^_^

Aw...:(

Me to. GC just seems like...I don't know it reminds me of a million other "You are the chosen one to make the world a better/worse place!" stories. Typical fantasy fanfare.

...and then the blood is mixed with her DNA. And whose to say she transforms fast enough. That's what I don't like about those kind of things there's too many "ifs".

That said I'm completely willing to say its possible just not very plausible.

Woah, when did DNA enter the equation?  Since when does magic care about DNA?  You're mixing genres here :P

I'm perfectly happy to say its not very likely, just that it doesn't matter.  All that matters is what the writers decide.

On the other hand, I love a good argument, so I'm also happy to keep this up until you get tired of it or I have to stop wasting time at work.

you're in work? You naughty worker you.

True. Though I will never stop making bee jokes if they go with the mosquito. :D

I will admit I had to stop and think for a bit to come up with that one.  But really, what better way is there for a shapeshifter to secretly get someone's blood?

True. Still I wish I had the opportunity to at least smack the living daylights out of her even if I couldn't kill her. :( I wanna be able to kill her in DA2

What does that have to do with anything?  Reread what I wrote.  The warden kills the AD, its soul tries to go to the warden's body, then poof magic happens.  I'm not getting what you are saying.

Think of a magnet. It is not attracted to a special kind of magnet. It is just attracted to other magnets. Suppose you kill the Warden who slays the archdemon - you would then need to be the magnet closest to the archdemon to get it off.

What the hell is "poof magic"? Allowing for anything to be possible is silly. Why suppose a dark ritual is needed at all? Why can't we just suppose Morrigan got pregnant with a farmhand in Lothering, never joined the party, and ripped the soul of the archdemon at her convenience using "poof magic".

If you're going to allow for any possible event for which we do not know is explicitly impossible, then the whole dark ritual is pointless, because magic can do anything.

Maybe you can.  Either the demon child is not canon and doesn't matter, in which case she might be expendable (depending on how the new story goes), or after she has the child she has served her purpose and is again expendable.

Except for her lack of hands and the fact that I doubt mosquitos throw up blood that they drunk already.

Simple. She turns back into a human, upchuks into a bucket, and voila!

This has already been explained.

Edit: However, I will add you do not need to be the closest magnet to attract another magnet.  Just produce the most powerful magnetic field.

Not only can they, but that is how they often transmit diseases

That's...kind of gross. Anyways she gets the blood. So she magically knows whose going to land the final blow as well?

There are 3 possibilities. The Main PC, Alistiair/Loghain or Riordian. (She has no way of knowing Riordian is doomed to disney plotline death so he has to count as well in any of her schemes).

Nope, she, being a smart witch, has all her bases covered with blood samples for each of the possible candidates.

and would most likely need 3 different rituals. So she's going to do that as well? Rituals are very often EXTREMELY precise. Having 3 vials might throw something off, doing 3 rituals might also throw something off. Esepcially considering this needs precision.

Then let me be super blunt: what are you are doing is called an ass-pull. We can imagine any number of technically unfalsifable BS scenarios were you can refuse the ritual and have a god child, including morigan summoning a super laser beam from the sky to fry the archdemon and sucking it's soul out with a magic vacuum cleaner.

Edit: However, I will add you do not need to be the closest magnet to attract another magnet.  Just produce the most powerful magnetic field.

Which supposes that the magnets can differ in attraction, and we have no indication of that. But this goes back to technically unfalsfiable BS scenario, and I'm standing by my laser beam from space.
