Can we have options on dialog? Why not choose list or wheel as an option?

Obviously, there are a lot of people who are not happy about the decision to use the dialog wheel in DA2.  It is equally obvious that no matter how much we complain, this decision will not be changed.  But, I think that there is a reasonable compromise to make everyone happy:  Let us choose how dialog is displayed.

If the same options that are shown in short form on the wheel can be toggled to display the full lines in a list (with the same intent indicators present either way) then the fans who feel like the dialog wheel robs them of player control and choice will be happy, and the players who wan the wheel can leave the default.  I don't see how there can be a downside to this, since the dialog is all written out anyway for the game script.

I understand that doing this means you have to read the full line of dialog before hearing it voiced, but this can be solved by letting us quickly skip the voice over with a click, just like how it works in DA1.  Even if the quick skip option isn't there, I'm sure there are people like me who would still prefer to have the chance to read the full line before choosing it.  Worst case scenario, people don't like it and use the wheel, but at least we'll have had the choice.

This is something I have never understood. how is making us do at least double the amount of work on a system to try and please everyone a "reasonable compromise?" Compromise implies both sides are conceding something. Your "reasonable compromise" is no-lose situation for you, but a lose-lose proposition for us. How exactly does this help when no game is perfect, and no game system or feature will please everyone all the time? Gamers aren't quite as polarized as you seem to think they are.

Also, there is already a thread discussing the conversation wheel. Please take your discussion there. Thank you.

End of line.
